The Polish players were so moved by this that their captain mentioned it to the media. It goes down as one of my best memories of Anfield and a fantastic European night - despite the negative outcome.

What you have to remember is that man city are top professionals, my local team was made up of men that all had "real jobs" on the side. their job wasn't to play football. it was just so much fun, even if they did lose 7-0 in total.
