I bet you guys would have been beside yourself if you knew that it was a blend of about 70% reposado (12 months (right before it hits 1 year)), 20% Anejo (24+months) and 10% Extra Anejo (36+months) which has been matured in Balkan Bulgaria oak (only tequila to do so. It has a softer impact then American and French oak). Goes through a proprietary filtration (probably charcoal filtered) to remove the color but keeping the flavor profiles of the aged tequila. Diamond or Diamanté is the hope of the founder to have another classification created for what Dobel is-the World's first clear aged tequila (Blanco, reposado, Anejo, Extra Anejo, Diamante). This shit is by far one of the best kept secrets for tequila out there. The flavor profiles hold up to so many different spins in so many different cocktails. Not to mention its great on its own with some ice cubes. I was introduced to Maestro Dobel at a tequila dinner and received this:

+CoberBox1 I hate the quick reviews...how the fuck do you review a spirit in under 10 minutes...to be honest even under an hour is a little premature... Since almost all spirits open up and change and have different expressions the longer you leave them in the glass

Because alcohol does not oxidize when presented to air over the glass, I don't see where this change comes from--add a few drops of water to break up the aroma and you should see the exact same thing out of a spirit tasted 3 minutes after a pour vs. 30 minutes, vs. an hour.

silver maestro dobel is very good and one of my favorites ,but the king of tequila is Don Julio anejos. i usually put it on the rocks with a squeezed lime. i don't get horrible head aches from don julio, if you guys know others that are better let me know.
I agree. I think this might be just a way to stand out is all. I'm definitely going to give it a try though. It seems like it might be great for certain lighter style tequila based cocktails where it can incorporate well without overpowering the balance. Good review.
Funny thing is this was actually my introduction to tequila. After trying a few others, I do agree it's an odd experience, but I still like it. What's nice is that the Winn Dixie near me almost always has fuel perks on this bottle, and at the time I got $1 off per gallon, so that was a nice bonus.
I have the maestro tequilero reposado, I love it! I find a very good balance between some earthiness and maybe smokiness and the agave itself, I will have to try that one!

Could be anything, could be your perception of mood on that first bottle vs. being in a different mood (e.g. I've had things on vacation that didn't taste as good when I was at home). It could also be a change in distillery / recipe (which happens to tequila, e.g. patron, cabo wabo, etc.) Could be an older bottle vs. something fresh (but probably not).
Maestro Dobel is one of my favorite tequila makers. Got two bottles of Diamente last year during holiday when it was on sale. Opened one bottle at a Thanksgiving along with the Don Julio Anejo. Best of tequila I had so far. Waiting for it to be on sale again this year. Hopefully it will be sooner. Hate to open my last bottle.

I suggest trying Don Julio Reposado on the rocks... it will make you think you're drinking a high end single malt scotch and likely even make you switch if that's what you normally like drinking + it costs less... Enjoy. I will be cracking open a bottle of Dobel Diamante in a couple of weeks after owning a bottle for a couple of years now... It will be my birthday and a tequila sampling evening. We will likely start with the Dobel due to it's smooth start.
I just picked up a box set. It came with 2 ceramic shot glasses for $29.95. I picked it up because they do tastings at the store next to my house( Really next door I walk to it) and they had this to try. I was heading in there to pick up a different tequila called Blue Head but tried this and liked it. Don't like the price of Patron and the taste to me was not that great for the price. This, on the other hand, surprised the shit out of me. I grabbed the set right then and there. Next review try the Blue Head and let me know what you think of it! A quick google search shows Tequilero being a certification you can get to promote Mexican Tequila. And Maestro is a term of honor so my guess would be "Maestro Tequilero" is a distinguished tequila certified promoter/taster/expert vs. Maestro Dobel which is a tequila brand.

But apparently I have bought two bottles of Tequila with the Brand 'Meastro Tequilero' the shape of the bottle and embossed bottle design is very similar to the one of 'Meastro Dobel'. The only differences is that bottle cap and the label. that's why I am not sure if they market it with the different name in Mexico or something. Just being curious.

Dobel diamante is top 5 best tequilas hands down... Super smooth and it's only $650 pesos 😎
