DreamCatcher has actually passed the point of that crossroads you were talking about. ALL of the members have re-signed with DCC! I think the song was written before they signed again; maybe one or more of the writers were not sure that the ladies would renew their contracts so they wrote this as it might have been their 'goodbye' song. But DON'T WORRY, we are safe, they are still together! :D

the creature is Celly. its a cell. representing rebirth regrowth. This song is a letter for mother earth. its about giving it a break after we have been so close with it that we actually are destroying it. so 'Tell me Bon VOyage". this song is very beautiful. i love it. i watch the mv at least 3 times a day. i m not getting over it. i got goosebumps every time i watch it. im still feeling it. give it few weeks, it will calm down. there is a 'It's Live" performance where you can appreciate their vocals raw..
and also, the album. please... you will not survive. no matter how ready you are. just a warning. if u proceed, that's on you.. good luck for that..

Their visual styles in this comeback is at another level, especially Yooh. And the song? I've been watching every reaction there is and love it more every time the song plays. We can't help but to shed tears. The MV is so beautiful, the girls and their vocals are gorgeous, and as Jiu mentioned, the song is quite a sad one.
This is my favorite song in the trilogy, it's even fighting for the top 3 spot of all their songs alongside You & I, Boca, and Good Night. I feel like Bon Voyage combines the best parts of some of their previous releases, especially Fly High and Deja Vu, yet it still sounds fresh so we get yet another side of Dreamcatcher's signature sound.
The amazing song took Dreamcatcher to their 3rd and 4th music show win last Monday and Tuesday on different TV stations! So happy for the girls!

Nope this had me in ABSOLUTE bawling child status, it's just...Oh my god. It's so cinematic and bittersweet and joyful and tragic all at the same time.
The reflection @25:10 was Handong. They said it on their own reaction video LOL

I was like that, the first time I heard this song myself, and it even got much worse (or should I say "better"?) when I heard Propose. That song, I had on repeat for 3 days, with quite a few moments of choking up completely. The fact that Dreamcatcher can literally bring me to tears has become a new normal for me, but the level they do it this comeback is still shocking.
I discovered DC a few weeks after Odd Eye got released and this comeback feels the most overwhelming to me since getting to know them. All the songs from Because (Summer Holiday) on, have grown on me and I love everyone of them to death (JiU's vocals in Whistle are stunning eg.), but none of the come backs floored me like this one.
In the end, I think, it would be very wrong to be okay when listening to this.

Usually, there are 2 main music producers for Dreamcatcher, Leez and Ollounder. But recently, Leez went to a different production (cmiiw) to create more music and to have a more stable career as he did got an executive role. So this new sound is with Ollounder along with a few new producers, and to be fair it is quite a tough decision but they did all of the songs in this album so well and DC also won 2 awards so I guess that payed off a ton when one of the OG producers left.
PS: I saw a tweet a while back, that Bon Voyage is like a farewell song from Ollounder to Leez 🥺

JiU, Siyeon, and Dami specifically have all spoken a bit about the song during the press conference when they first released everything. JiU mentioned it's heavily inspired by the concept of a rest period for national parks, where entry is prohibited so that the park's ecosystem can heal and grow on its own without the influence of humans. She said that it's a way of us saying goodbye to the world because we're still hurting it and we need to leave it alone so it can heal. Siyeon said that it's about how we as humans will experience feelings like joy and happiness but that we'll also have to experience the feeling of "farewell," and it's not necessarily a bad thing, just a part of life. Dami also said that it's about how you need to leave something so it has space to grow, about having to leave something *because* you love it. Ultimately, just because you're apart from something doesn't mean you don't still have those feelings - even if they're not reciprocated anymore, it doesn't change what you had. It's very heavily framed like a love song or maybe even friendship but it still ties into the Apocalypse Trilogy - "MAISON" was a plea for people to change their ways to save the planet, "VISION" was a call to arms to take a stand and realize nobody's going to step forward to help if someone doesn't lead, and now "BONVOYAGE" is that we've reached a point where our only hope is to say good bye, for now.
If you can find them, their performances on The Show and Show Champion were fantastic and what secured them their 3rd and 4th wins (the latter I feel was an overall better performance, and it was a bigger win as they were up against some big names there - that win definitely hit them harder). The B-Sides for this album are fantastic, some of my favorites (and I think BONVOYAGE is an easy contender for my favorite title track).
"Bon Voyage" is the 3rd and final part of the Apocalypse trilogy, which is about the destruction of the environment by humanity. The members have mentioned that it is about giving nature a break. Any encounter between human beings always has separation attached to it as well, just as death is a part of life. SuA also said that the fluffy floating thing that Dami summons from her painting is a cell. It has been named "Celly" and is adorable, right? Right? 😉
My dark mind believes that they are saying "Have a good trip" to humanity, since we are well on our way of wiping ourselves out. It's like a breakup between humanity and the earth. Once humanity is gone, nature gets the break it needs and the circle will begin again. For me, the key to understanding the lyrics is that they are singing as human beings, not as a single person. And they are singing to nature, confessing their love and the realization that we are not good for nature and that it probably resents us. It could also be the other way round (them singing as mother nature to humanity).
SuA jumping out after the dove seem to represent their desire for peace.
There are still many things I don't know. For example, why are all three titles in French. 😉 (And why are there 3 Damis with 7 shadows...)
The story of the MV seems to be that the rest of humanity has sheltered away under force fields after the apocalypse. This gives nature time to heal.
Musically I can already say this is one of their best songs for me. The chorus slaps hard, and the variations between heavy and slow are just beautiful. It has emotion and impact at the same time. Putting JiU's sweet voice together with an acoustic guitar is simply genius. We lost Leez as a producer, but the team around Ollounder did a fantastic job! And as a bass player, I can say the slap bass is crazy!
I probably won't have to tell anyone that the visuals here are out of this world. I'm going to say it anyways: The members have never looked more beautiful, and the whole team all deserve a raise!

On May 24 TongTong Culture broadcast a 38 minute Showcase with Dreamcatcher. All the members took Q&As from reporters about the album, their contract renewal, new plans, stuff. They sang a few of the songs, but no dancing. It has english subs.
This can be an OST to any anime movie climax scene. Hell yeah!

It's a lament like farewell to mother earth from us. They are saying as humanity will wipe itself out, they are kind of like saying sorry and goodbye till we meet again (represented by that cell like creature)
I had a dream once where the earth (in a form of a beautiful woman) was standing on Everest while looking down on humanity destroying itself to extinction, she had tears in her eyes but they were tears of joy, as she looked me with a teary smile I caught fire, immediately woke up drenched in sweat. I had that dream 2 years ago.
Anyway, this is epic and a beautiful song.

The floating pod/cell , concept wise probably represents the heart of nature/earth/seed of life, because the members said the song is about giving nature a break/love letter to Earth.
Theory wise people seem to think its Siyeon because they think she sacrificed herself protecting SuA which kind of makes sense but only if you disregard alot of elements of the MV.
Personally i think it represents InSomnia always being there with them, no matter what they do or where they go, like the "8th member" of the group.
Well! We may see this comeback as their new beginning of career cos they renewed their contract. They are saying to goodbye to their past and welcoming their future with hope and joy for all those past and obstacle They overcome will make them more stronger and united as one.
My wish... Hopefully they will become one of the legend the most longest girl group alive which stay as 7 members...for many many years..

Crossroads is between humanity and nature. Bon Voyage refers to a temporary separation to allow for regeneration.
But there are many layers of meaning; you identified some that hadn't occurred to me - and maybe not to them either, but could be in there too.
Congratulations to the girls for getting 2 wins with this song so far! 🥳🥳I love BONVOYAGE. Lyrically it feels like the story of Dreamcatcher's own personal apocalypse, told from 3 different perspectives:
1) Pre-debut Dreamcatcher (also known as Minx), who are at their lowest point in their careers and who have to make a choice. Give up their dream or re-debut as Dreamcatcher with a completely different image and sound. (verses)
2) Post-debut Dreamcatcher, who are treating every day as their last, going full speed ahead with their new image and sound, while leaving their Minx era image behind. (chorus)
3) Current day Dreamcatcher, a blend of both Minx and Dreamcatcher, who are looking back with pride and love at both versions of themselves. (intro, pre-chorus, bridge and final chorus) ❤
Alternatively as a story about our own climate apocalypse: Nature is dying, humanity is at a crossroad. If we make the right changes and choices now, and make sure we stick to them and never give up, then in the future humanity can become one with nature and look back at ourselves with pride and love.

I could write a whole thesis length essay on my theories for the whole Apocalypse trilogy storyline .....
For example, Gahyeon has oracle powers. In the scene where she's standing over a pool of water, the reflection in water is Handong and not her. Gahyeon is forseeing a future where they have achieved their main mission (the building is clean and complete, and there are celebratory fireworks going off). Handong's powers were indeed the key to their victory.

Not only are the vocal performances on bon voyage fantastic, but also the producers did an amazing job of choosing the members lines and the order of those (there are some classic combos here yooh-->siyeon; handong-->jiu; siyeon-->sua --but even beyond some of the classic combos, it all just flows so beautifully).
Also: your point about Gahyeon being the bridge in the range of voices is spot on, especially when you add in that she sometimes raps as well.

There are at least 3 major firsts for this song. :-
1. It is the first DC song to have the words "I love you" or "saranghe" in the lyrics. (Hence the unfair heartstrings tugging).
2. It is the first DC storyline that has a (mostly) happy ending.
3. (Linked to point 2) this is the first DC title track where the girls smile happily while performing (the sinister smiles in their horror-inspired tracks don't count).
And they won 2 more music shows!

You are the first reactor that caught up the differences in Gahyon's reflection, but you missed the major one. It's not Gahyon's reflection on the water, it is actually Handong mirorring her. I for myself haven't got any of it until I watched them talk about it.
For live performance I really like the one from tong tong culture, there's no choreo in that one but it's the one where you can hear their voices the most clearly

When you at around 10-11 minutes started talking about the crossroads line I started thinking and realised:
In march 2021 they had a two-day long virtual concert called Crossroads. The first day was called Utopia, the second day was called Dystopia. This makes me think that maybe the crossroads referenced in this lyric is actually related to this. Maybe if they DON'T leave, the dystopia will continue, but if they leave it will be utopia...
I may be looking too deep into this but it kinda fits with what DC has said about the meaning of the song?

TBH I didn't like BONVOYAGE the first time I listened to it. I think I wanted it to be darker, like VISION and the Dystopia trilogy. But the more I listened to it, the more I liked it and now I just get super hyped every time I listen to it :D
And I think Apocalypse: From Us is now my favourite Dreamcatcher album! It feels really experimental, which I love. So I hope they'll continue making songs like that ^^

Hecate? Okay. Well, one could do a whole thesis on the use of European Pagan (and Neopagan) imagery in Dreamcatcher videos. Here, of course, we also have the use of the Six of Swords from the Black & Gold Tarot Deck by Evgenia Pichkur, and it appears (I had to go back and check) you also passed right by JiU wearing a witch's cone in your Vision reaction. Just things you might consider when you do return to the Apocalypse storyline. Merry meet, merry part and merry meet again.

I've had many people tell me they dislike the glare on my glasses since very early in my channel but considering glasses are expensive and TH-cam pays me about $20 per month, I won't be getting new glasses anytime soon just because it's annoying in videos
@@AntiSocialPlanet just angle your camera differently. The way you setup your camera in line with your big screen just reflects, it’s logical. Even if you change it to another level or off to one side of your screen would solve it.
@@cheeyeung3675 I already sit at an angle to my screen with the camera turned towards me. After 500+ videos, I've tried a lot of things and the glare is apparently here to stay
