Thank you eta prime for testing dreamcast games. I remember when I reserved the actual dreamcast console in 1999 at funcoland. I still like the Sega dreamcast my favorite game is resident evil code veronica
The slowdowns on Sonic Adventure 2 are present on real hardware too (Dreamcast and GameCube versions, but on Dreamcast is more visible). It isn't just a fault of the emulator. But is nice to see finally support for shadows, which are needed for pass the fucking glitch on King Boom Boo boss with Knuckles for finish the game.
Wow this really blew me away! It looks like it plays dreamcast games amazingly. It's a shame the MOQI is so expensive though since I don't see myself using it as a cell phone also.
This would have been a no brainer for me if it had l2 and r2 buttons. It’s very appealing to me as a backup travel phone. The l2/r2 omission is just...what were they thinking.
I just want to thank you for your videos over the years. I made my wife watch one of your recent LaunchBox/BigBox videos...AND SHE LET ME BUY A COMPUTER FOR THE LIVING ROOM! YEAH! I picked up a 5th gen i5 w/8GB RAM and a GTX1050 for $129. Not the newest, but it's gonna be a honker for emulation. :)
How happy I'd be if Dreamcast games could be played on a hacked vita!! This device is too phone like and as mentioned by others, a BT attachment to your current phone (which might have more horsepower than this) is probably the way to go... although, I can't wait for what an updated GPD portable might be able to bring to the table.
Awesome video. If you can, could you do the next one that is about the Damon PS2 emulator? I’m curious how games like God of War, Soul Calibur run on this device
We really need something like this less the cameras, cellular radio, and gps with the full compliment of buttons and a solid d-pad at a reasonable price. Maybe 250-300 would even be workable.
Fair point. I’m still waiting on something portable that can reliably run dolphin. Android would be ideal to allow for max customizability. I’ve seen a vague twitter post from GPD seeming to indicate they are working on exactly what I’m looking for. Fingers crossed.
@@MrSampsonne If this is true, i'll definitely take a look! I just need an ultimate emulator machine.. as long as i can connect to wifi :D I'm currently waiting the GPD XD+ price to drop.. maybe in a year or two o_O
I've nearly completed Resident Evil Code Veronica on a Dreamcast Android emulator (Reicast) - on an older Sony tablet - worked fine for me except for some glitches on some rooms where it couldn't draw fog effects. What I'm saying is if you picked the right game you could play Dreamcast on Android for quite some time.
This seems like a really cool device, and I love my Vita so I like the form factor, but it seems like you'll get more bang for your buck getting a $300 Android phone with an 845 in it and something like the Flydigi Wee 2 controller.
@Bedanta Bordoloi you should first try those two games on Reicast. Problem with MDK2 is the sniper camera. Basically you can't pass the tutorial level. In Soul Reaver in order to aim you need to press both LT and RT to free look camera and since they are repeating you can't do it which in turn makes the game impossible to pass (Rahab boss fight). Also on my galaxy s6 in Soul Reaver on Reicast I get 35-45 fps and on Redream its flat 60.
@Bedanta Bordoloi nice of you try but I'm not sure you got my point. Do you have a bluetooth conteoller with shoulder buttons? In soul reaver you need to press and hold both LT and RT to enable free look with left analog stick. Now when you need to shoot the projectile and make it go where you want to you need to press one additional button at which point Reicast freaks out. Gimme the latest Reicast build link pls I wanna see myself if you don't mind. Also if you have spare time try MDK2
Is this better then nvudia shield tv? I know the cpu is stronger in this but nvidia has a more powerful gpu. Come to think of it, it would be awesome if you showed how important a cpu vs gpu on these devices are with emulators/roms. I've noticed some slowdown on my nvidia shield but not on this device(watching your video) hence the question, is it cpu or gpu? Thanks!
@@ryanbeev It doesn't come with Google play but they explain a way to install it that they officially support. But most sellers install it before shipping it to you. Mine came with it installed
Can you do a review on the new retro style game “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Rescue-Palooza”? Also... see if it will run on a raspberry pi... and if so how would you go about installing it in retropie or recalbox?
Nearly $400 bucks! I can buy a console for that money. I should buy this knowing that big cell phone manufacturers haven’t been able to solve throttling issue. And I should believe this wouldn’t have similar issue and have found a cure. Not sold on this yet, with the fact of it being a ridiculous phone to hold in office setting

personally 400$ a bit much. especially when there is no software support and missing shoulder buttons. Just buy and Xiaomi Mi8 SE and pair it with Wee2 or whatever you want.
Nice, but too pricey for most. $409 and an additional $10 for shipping is the wrong price point. I can get a PS4 console with accessories for that amount or a Nintendo Switch for $300.
Different business models. Official consoles are sold with little profit(sometimes at a loss) so that they can sell you games for years after. This device has to be profitable to the manufacturer and to retailers as a single purchase. They don't have software sales to rely on afterwards.
@@ErdricksArmor Exactly, so using your own logic, the Nintendo Switch is a better better deal. Better graphics, better price point, better support, and games for years to come.

@@ErdricksArmor Yes, I agree. The i7s also has more appeal for folks looking for a more "open" ecosystem. The Switch keeps its users locked into the world of Nintendo which has its own set of advantages and disadvantages.

I got one of these devices, and I put my verizon sim card into it, the 4G wifi works on it but my phone number calling and texting absolutely refuses to work. I called into Verizon to see if it was because I had to deactivate the old device my sim card was in and activate the MOQI i7s for it, but after a bit of talking, they came back and told me the MOQI i7s doesn't support US mobile carriers, and there was no way to enable calling and texting, and that it was barely compatible enough to work with the 4G wifi (which they said was actually only 3G, but by chinese standards it was "4G"), was there something they missed or is this "Gaming Phone" seriously not able to do the "Phone" part?
