Of all NF’s songs, this is the one that I’ve heard two of my teenage daughters listening to the most, and one of them told me it’s a favourite of several of her friends as well. This is a crazy honest and relatable song that touches a nerve in many peoples hearts, I feel. Thank God for someone like Nate to have written and recordEd this song, if for no other reason than to make people realise that they are not alone.
i hope and pray Nate finds peace through his faith and comes out with a project about overcoming. it is great that he touches so many by being relatable, but ultimately our Father in heaven wants us to be FREE. how cool if Nate opened the door for all the relatables to find freedom?

I can’t imagine being happy, lost my mother to suicide and brother, love of my life left me probably because I’m screwed up, emotional and depressed, daughter won’t talk to me, I really hate myself. Trying to find reasons to stay but it’s difficult! This NF is really hurting I feel bad for him. He needs love, no letting go love, hold on tight love,,,, no pushing away love, we all need that. Powerful words. It took a LONG time for me to stop crying on this song. When you cant get out of that self hatred cycle, it becomes more of a lifestyle, than just a hard time. So yeah, cry your heart out. Dont keep it in :) Doesnt help when this song goes from a super catchy beat that makes you bop up and down, then drops you into a slow sad pace, then fast up again, like a roller coaster. Depression is a difficult battle and alot of people deal with this. I believe this is why NF is such a huge draw. Being real deals with alot of emotions and through his music we are able to relate and deal with life

Raised my kids while working night shifts & still work nights. Couldn't PAY me enough to work days! Can't sleep except during the day, but that's my natural circadian rhythm. Helpful hint: room darkening curtains & a fan. Having a fan is ESSENTIAL. A lot of night workers use low dose Melatonin in the beginning, also.
I feel you girl I had them tears falling but they needed to because at least once a day I become weak and I hate myself, I get lost in the questions I can't answer, can't stand who I am but it don't matter. You guys remind me so much of my wife and I. She too suffers from mental illness. Depression, anxiety, never thinking that she's good enough, and always apologizing. I never used to get it before and we would always argue because of my ignorance. But once I started listening to NF, I understood. Sometimes I wish I could help her. But all I can really do is just hold her and hope I don't annoy her. I'm more patient now and I'm willing to wait out her lows. Patience, understanding, communication, and trust are keys to a lasting relationship. We're going on 15yrs and it still feels like our 1st!✌️
