Very useful video, and indeed a very powerful fea tool. It just needs to improve the graphics management system, from my previous experiences using nastran i experienced very slow performance. It also misses the possibility to constrain in positive or negative directions. That's a very important feature that needs to be added.
Moreover, the failure criteria based in yielding is a big mistake. It certainly has the chance to fail in the notched sections due to crack propagation. Therefore, you need to analyse the failure criteria in the context of fatigue. And that's one of the reasons why those components are made of high strenght steel alloys.

dont know if anyone gives a damn but if you guys are bored like me during the covid times you can watch all the latest series on instaflixxer. Been binge watching with my gf for the last couple of months =)

Great work. what is the difference between a structural and rigid constraint. Also if I am trying to simulate a journal bearing is the pin constraint what I use?

I would check out the Nastran forum: forums.autodesk.com/t5/nastran-forum/bd-p/97

I have a question , is it possible to do a simulation on the milling process of the cutting tool by using nastran to do FEA on the cutting tool to get the the result such as the generated heat during the milling process and the exact location of the heat generated on the cutting tool itself while changing its rotation speed of the cutting tool? Im still new with this software, so im not sure if its possible doing this type of experiment through virtual simulation
