This is why I’m looking to work in the hospital now because working in a nursing home is exhausting. Unless I’m doing night shift I no longer want to work in a nursing home it’s just too much.

I originally joined long-term care as a CNA and I agree with all that she's saying. Personally I can't enjoy a retirement home as they are often short staffed in high risk floors requiring excessive labor next to hours and for people like me who lead a busy life that's very exhausting.

I couldn’t agree with you more!! Thank for your comment. When I was in long term care I saw how you guys had to work sooooo hard. Working in long term care is definitely harder on CNAs vs a hospital. In a hospital you have the nurses to help you or the nurses do it themselves. Unfortunately here in Illinois we are also short on CNAs in the hospital as well.

Thank you for giving me more insight I just applied for a hospital position med surg at that and I’ve been working in long-term care facilities since I got my cna and the burn out is very real! I agree with the other lady it’s very short staffed all the time, very physical labor and strenuous on the body and I can’t do that my back and knee is already giving me problems now that’s why I’m trying to hospital until I finish med school

Thank you so much for this video, I’m about to take cna classes and I had no idea on the differences of being a cna at a nursing home or a hospital but now I know what to expect

Thank you so much for this video! I've been a cna for a few months. I only have nursing home experience and I couldn't handle it anymore. I recently got hired at a hospital as a cna and was wondering what the difference was between being a cna at nursing homes and hospitals and you made it very clear! Thanks for the info!

For me I will love to work in a long term facilities than a hospital, cause I find it more tasking and more engaging, most times in the hospital the patient might be too sick and you won't know what happens next.

I think working in a hospital is better because get more experiences and its alot easier to get your foot in the doctor for any medical field you choose to do. Im cna myself and im currently trying get into a hospital .

I agree with you 100%. It’s definitely much easier to get into any other type of medical field once being in a hospital. Good luck on finding a hospital job. Here in Illinois we need you guys badly!!!

I’m a nursing assistant/CNA at inpatient rehab for Baylor. It’s a total different world from AL & MC, which is what most of my background consists of. I’m getting all of the knowledge that I can and then proceed to do my LVN this fall!

I took vitals every morning in LTC! I'm currently going in for an interview for multiple CNA jobs at one of the best hospitals in Tennessee and I'm really excited because working in LTC was just really hard for me. I had up to 20 patients and only had 8 hours to take care of them. And I just couldn't do it.!!

I am in my second semester of Nursing School and I found you initially through my diamond painting hobby. It is awesome that I found a channel that is diamond painting and nursing! 😆

Can someone swab an employee in a nursing home randomly for the flu due to being out sick often?

I have been a CNA for years but have only worked LTC facilities. Which would you say is harder on the feet? My feet blister really easy due to a hereditary skin disorder..I love being a CNA and want to try a hospital but am concerned I'll be on my feet more.

Long-term care may be rougher on the body but it's less task. I think the hospital have way too many task to perform that seem to be more of a nurse's job. They want cna's to do everything then pay us the bare minimum. 😖😫
