Ful stop is just about a perfect song to me. Very dark and ominous with a long build up and fantastic pay off. When I’m running and his falsetto hits, life is just something else. I saw The Smile live 3 days ago and got to be at the very front. I waited in line for an additional 2 hours to do so. Even though I wasn’t directly in the middle (I was a little further left) I just so happened to have sealed a spot right in front of where Thom Yorke was standing throughout the show. Incredible! Highlight of the show was Johnny playing the piano with his left hand and a harp with his right simultaneously. That should practically be illegal. How on earth?
One of their best songs to see live, you get enveloped in it. It’s even more meaningful taken in the context of the real-life relationship breakdown that inspired it.
i love the groove of this song, but definitely one of their weirder ones! my fave track from moon shaped pool would definitely be decks dark! also rly appreciate you guys reacting to songs that are "less popular", cus some songs don't have any reactions at all and it's cool to see :)
I didn't know anything that dadman said either about the technical/music theory stuff. This song just sounds amazing! Rarely have I heard music that to me sounds like a horror score that also makes you want to dance with joy. It has that perfect anxiety/panic attack build up with a god tier groove and then it explodes into pure "f*ck yea" territory and you can feel that energy and tension get released. The lyrics are just the same, for me it reminds me of being in a really bad place. Burdened with regrets or a feeling of failure and not wanting to confront the issues instead you look for a quick fix like turning to partying and alcohol or whatever foul tasting medicin you can find. (That's what I got from the song the first times I heard it at least)
I’ve got to agree with you, AMSP needs to be listened to as a whole. It’s one of those albums which you put on and suddenly it’s over. I don’t know where my goes, but I’m not complaining. For me it is probably the album with the best flow. I couldn’t listen randomly. Ful Stop was mesmerising when I saw them tour the album.
A short intro and outro would have got you less money in pop music in the radio days, a DJ would avoid crashing your vocal, but happily talk all over your intro and outro, preventing listeners from recording your music satisfactorily and forcing them into the shops to buy your music. Nowadays if your song doesn't start with its main hook, it risks getting skipped.
This is definitely Radioheads "Sgt Pepper" not a lot of fans really liked it to begin with but it is now becoming a classic... One question...Will you be doing some tracks off the Smile album... its basically Radiohead v2.0
So I haven't heard any The Smile yet. I have purposefully held off to react with Jakob for the first time. We plan on doing one next. Suggestions on which track to start with?
Not gonna lie, Ful Stop bored me the first time through until the end of the build through the first half of the song. The whole "Truth will mess you up" bit really sells the whole song and makes that build-up worth it.
AMSP has got to be my least favorite Radiohead album (besides Pablo Honey), the entire thing feels like a parody of the band, it's sooo sad, and sooo depressing that it feels like a critic made the album to play into the stereotype of Radiohead being too depressing. 9.5/10
It’s interesting to hear you say it’s upbeat when it’s pretty well esptablished that it’s all inspired by Thons very painful relationship breakup. It transitions from the rage an upset of ‘Burn the Witch’ to the contemplative true love waits, symbolising the healing process and it’s resolution. Their are plenty out there that consider it their best album but that’s the thing with Radiohead, their eclectic nature is both a blessing and a curse.
I love how you really listen to the whole song without cutting any parts to make the video shorter like any other reaction out there

Jeez that sounds like a bucket list experience. Must've been insane
I won’t lie - it sort of was!

I wouldn’t consider it less popular. Majority of my friends who hate Radiohead consider ful stop the only song they like by them
Thanks for doing this song. Awesome t-short by the way, “the peoples persons paper people!”
This is a good one. I really think that this "simple man" ;) will like JIGSAW FALLING INTO PLACE! Give it a shot!
I think you're right. Soon

Thom Yorke, the King of England.
Ay, thanks for the 4th of July video haha needed some entertainment since I'm stuck inside with covid haha.
Blow out rules
Blow Out has a whole new meaning when you have Covid. Get well soon
So many options when it comes to Radiohead. I hope he finds the album or even just a song that really grips him- that’s all it takes… ONE SONG! 🖖

Yeah, I didn't see them for AMSP tour. Really need them to get out again

3rd favourite Radiohead song, 2nd favourite AMSP song.

When you talk like that it sounds like the albums are bookends. I hope not
@@the15thfloor71 lol, I doubt so, if I remember correctly, Thom Yorke confirmed that there will be a LP 10, though I can't find the interview....
