Hallelujah - at last somebody else banging the drum for pre-analysis! Great video.

Impressive procedure and video! I use the mini prism whenever possible when staking but will now consider it for control, however, I do prefer to traverse through control points.
Your point about geometry on this type of work is critical as replacing control during construction is a guarantee.
I can see a starnet upgrade would be beneficial.

The only thing I don't like about using a normal mini for control is having to hold it there while I run rounds. But if you have a mini bipod setup then you have the best of both worlds. They can be found relatively inexpensive as well and fit with your glass of choice. Much more portable than a typical backsight as well.
Yea starnet is free to try, can't really go wrong with that.

Don't get me started haha. Sometimes when I try to give a thorough, thoughtful response to that statement you'll get the "But X surveyor could do it". Perhaps a video specifically dedicated to clients answering what is/isn't realistic in terms of accuracy...💡

Love your videos! Anyone know where to get that miniprism bipod from???

Thank you, spatial technologies (out of Canada but they can ship to the US) is where I get mine. I haven't found a good seller in the US yet.

@@The3rdDimensionSurveying Great thanks! I was looking before I got this and I did find a very similar one on Amazon. Not sure off the top who the reseller was but I saved it just in case

How can i correct closed traverse by Star net, and how can l enter the angles and distance automatically not manual.
    Please

Import the data and press the process button ensuring your common points are sharing the same point ID and your using the correct instrument and coordinate settings. You don't need to enter field observations manually, just import the data (the format will depend on what instrument you are using). Check out my other video "Improving your survey control..." it gives you an overview of using STAR*NET with field observations.
