I hope you enjoyed this video with my mom. To anyone out there that is going through the loss of a loved one, my heart goes out to you. P.S. I have struggled to find a suitable title and thumbnail for this video for many reasons. If you have seen this video floating around and are confused by this, I hope you understand.
It's really great you did this. I loved to do this with my father. He past away 2 month ago. He wanted to learn piano but his mum didn't want to. So he never learned. And as I wanted to learned piano as a child. He repeat the same. So I 've learned alone and with friends later. He was always sad He couldn't play. I never understand why he didn't by a piano and learned.
Why am I crying? Watching three generations of women connected by the love for each other and music is so beautiful to see, that my tear ducts are filled to overflowing.
'Pink love' is warm and fun. What an amazing idea. She should express herself musically as much as she desires. My deepest condolences go out to you and your family.
When your mother said "this is the first time I wrote music", I cried. It's so beautiful to me, the idea of commemorating a loss with something as meaningful as a first time. And for a mother to experience a first time is another layer of poetry. This is a beautiful gift you gave her. A precious, loveable present. You must be a very kind and caring person :) Sorry for your loss.
This video made me cry...my dad has dementia and sometimes music is the only thing that makes him laugh or engage. It's a wonderful thing you've done here Nahre. Maybe I should try making some music with my dad...
My mom had dementia as well-caring for a parent suffering memory issues is sometimes VERY hard! My heart goes out to you, and please remember to seek help if you need it! No one should face such burdens alone. ❤️
As someone who was raised by his already-elderly maternal grandmother who eventually died (at 101) from Alzheimer’s Disease, I think that if you possibly can do something like that with him, you probably should do that. Time, especially that spent with loved ones, is such a limited and invaluable resource in our lives, y’know?!
Nahre please accept my belated condolences. My heart goes out to you and your mother. That was a beautiful idea that really turned out good. Please give your mom a hug. God bless.
Nahre Sol, you are one of those special teachers. I am a retired opera singer and a voice teacher. But this reminded me of some classes I took with a very special art teacher. I was in my late 40s, and hadn't touched a crayon or paintbrush since I was belittled by an art teacher when I was 12. We all have within us, an artist, a singer, a dancer, and a composer. Thank you for helping us all to remember that expression, is our humanity.
Nahre, this video is so special. I recently lost a parent and due to covid quarantine rules we had had to say goodbye over video, it was strange but intimate at the same time, because we can see and hear everyone very personal farewell very clearly. Composing a melody as a farewell reminds me of that, the process must have been very healing. Thank you so much for sharing. Its a sweet song.
In one simple creative effort, through her song, Nahre's mom managed to tie 3 generations of her family together. Thank You, Nahre for sharing your family's love and remembrance of your Grandma. Your thoughtfulness in helping your mom during this sad and hard time is truly amazing. p.s. I thought the accompaniment behind mom's great melody was pretty good too, whoever wrote that might just have a chance at being a real musician. :-)
I am studying Music Therapy at Aalborg University in Denmark, and this process is known to our practice as music therapeutic songwriting, and you did an amazing job guiding your mother through the process!
Oh Nahre! This was so touching and beautiful. My sincerest condolences to you and your mother for your loss. Your mother's composition has helped us all!
I'm a Chinese here and just started watching several of your previous videos about piano practicing. However, this is by far the best video by a pianist I've seen on TH-cam. The moment your mom starts playing her first composition brought me to tears. Best wishes to you and your loved ones and may music bring happiness and fond memories to every human.
Nahre, I have been watching TH-cam videos of all kinds for years. None made me smile and tear up like this one. So relatable. Best I've experienced. What a gift your grandmother, mom, and you have given the world. Thank you so much. It's clear there was a lot or work put in this one. It is simply wonderful. Please tell mom thank you for sharing her journey with us.
Man, this hit Way harder than I thought. I just lost my mum a little over a month ago, I cant even begin to Approach a composition for her. Your mother is a strong woman. Edit: Pink Love had me crying through the whole piece. Absolutely beautiful. ❤
This video has so much depth with its way of telling the story not only from the creative side but also more importantly, the emotional side of writing music. I learned a lot. My deepest condolences and thank you Nahre for using this experience as a means of conveying your message.
Your mum must be so grateful to have a loving daughter like you, so tactfully clever and a musical mastermind besides. Well done NS and thank you for sharing this.
Thank you, Nahre. I lost my dad on May 26, six months ago and I’m still grieving. As an “only child”, it’s been hard to process the loss of my parents & grandparents and although I’m happily married, I feel alone in the world. I’m a sync licensing producer and the music I’ve completed since returning to work has all been based on ideas from before my dad’s illness and passing. I think it’s time to write something new. Thx for the inspiration. ❤️
Not only a moving family document, but an excellent example of 'outreach' - introducing a non-musician to improvisation and composition in a non-intimidating fashion. Music is our best friend in life!
Nahre, you are an absolute gem. I'm a somewhat jaded 56 year old guy and I needed to pause the video a few times to wipe the tears from my eyes... And I mean that in the nicest possible way. Thank you.
This was so meaningful to me. My parents were relatively young and healthy, but in 2021 I lost my Dad and then five months later I lost my Mom. Two years later, I lost my little Brother. Too much for me to handle; too much to discuss here. But in the midst of all this tragedy, I taught myself how to play piano because I had emotions that I could not express with words, but they had to come out… So I “bled” them out on my wife’s childhood piano (if you’ve been there than you know what I mean.) I felt one note at a time and that progressed into chords, and then to chord progressions, and then to melodies, and complete songs. I just wanted to say thank you for this video. There is healing in music, and composing your own music is a way to express feelings that words cannot convey. I really identified with the sense of loss that you and your mother felt about your grandmother. Your video captures the essence of the healing power of music and composition.
The TH-cam algorithm is just bringing this to me. This is so touching. I like how you abandoned what wasn’t working. We don’t do that often enough. You’re good. What a wonderful experience to have with you mom. I love the song!!
The fact that the music is so bouncy and happy comes, to me, from a place of fearlessness and relaxation. It's music that might be easy to dismiss for those tho can only aspire to feeling the shameless and open joy the song transmits. And I feel that's the place it was written and performed from. It's very honest.
I been thinking of my mom lately, and we had this thing where on Sunday we get together and can only chat with each other in puns about our week. So I been jotting down lyrics in puns. Then I see this and feel more motivated to keep going on this. I love your mom, she is special, and funny.
My condolences to you and your mother for your loss. Your mother captures so much of your grandmother's vibrancy and joy in her perky composition. Knowing the background behind its composition moved me to tears hearing it. It is music as a pure expression of love and memory. Powerful stuff. Thank you for so generously sharing this deeply personal and intimate experience with us.
It's so awesome to see you and your mom bond by making music. I have the Mother's Day video you made with her on a favorite playlist of mine on regular rotation. I guess I'll be adding this one, too! Both videos are such sweet gestures for your mom. They're so very moving.
I love the fact that the final song uses typical trot melody (usually assosiated with upbeat feeling) but also has some reflective quality to it. Somehow reminds me of Tombeau de Couperin... Thanks for sharing this incredible experience.
Sorry for the loss of your grandmother. You video works are enthralling and lead me to deep insight, always wrapping your explorations in humility ("the first effort was a flop"), dedication, generosity and love. So fun hearing the two of you communicate in Hangugeo. Thank you for this and every work that you publish.
What an amazing tribute to your Grandma! And how sweet to have this time - this creative time - this healing time - with your mom. Thanks for letting us into a very special, sacred space. 🙏
My grandma just passed away last week. Her husband (my grandpa) was a Broadway composer, and I studied music in school. Thank you so much for this video Nahre, it was such an unexpected and beautiful experience to get to watch. Much love ❤️
I can’t think of a better way to remember a loved one. Music really is a universal language of humanity that speaks directly from soul to soul. I’m so sorry for your loss, but I love your creation. ❤️
I feel aw and sorrow at the same time, so much compassion with your mother. Ofc you were also grieving your grandmothers parting away but the way you talk to your mom about this, respecting her boundaries and just generally giving her room to explore is so inspiring and admirable. I feel like im holding away from my parents if i dont grant them as much love and respect 😢
This is one of the best and most emotionally fulfilling pieces I have watched in months. Thank you for showing what music can do to help process grief and create beautiful human bonds! And more generally thank you for your humane, thoughtful and talented art as a pianist and composer. You take it from your mom, and she takes it from you-bravo!!
Thank you, Nahre Sol, my Mum passed away 3 weeks ago, so I know what you're going through! Wonderful video and wonderful music, I wish your Mum a Grammy! 👍😉 Love from Hannes, Germany ❤
Aww MAN, what a nice way to ease your mom’s burdens! Songs are always a nice way to “cope” when our feelings overwhelm us… you are a good-hearted daughter to turn deep grief into positive creativity via music! I can see your grandma oversaw a large successful family. That’s no small feat in Korea. For an old man like me… watching you two work on this… it reminded me to use my own creative leanings to help others. Thank you! ❤️
I was weeping Nahre, especially when your mom called your grandma "mom" and introduces the piece she was about to play. Love the warm relationship you both share and the memories you have have. Wonderful video, may your grandma rest in peace :')
Such a beautiful way for you and your mum to share such beautiful memories of the love you shared with your mum for your grandmother beautiful healing for both of you❤

My dad passed away a two days before this video. i am very thankful for this. i showed it to my mom to help her go through and we talked about the good old times with him. thank you very much, positivity in such times is such an important thing, even when it hurts and it is hard to process, dealing with it in a productive way ( i ended up having a "fashion week" with my mom with me trying all clothes of my dad, but ok lol, it did the job). take all the time you need, but don't forget the good things in live you guys!!!
LOVE this~
Thank you for sharing this with us Nahre. I was very touched and moved by this. Your mom is so cool!

“Cute little bird sounds, delicate and adorable”

'Pink love' is warm and fun. What an amazing idea. She should express herself musically as much as she desires. My deepest condolences go out to you and your family.

I LOST it when your mom came on camera and dedicated the song to her mom. I’m literally sobbing

My grandmother's funeral was yesterday and I just happened to find this today. This made me feel better. Thank you Nahre and Nahre's mom.

Can’t argue with her technique… she nailed that. Definitely could feel the trot influence… another beautiful video thank you Nahre

Bawl? Yes I bawled. This was beautiful and inspirational.
There are no words to describe how amazing this project is. You are such a beautiful person, and a brilliant artist.

5:19 bird starts cawing, both look in its direction
this was absolutely adorable
Nahre’s mother reminds me a lot of my mother
My condolences. She did great. It was smart of you to reduce the number of choices so she could select a path more easily.
One of the most beautiful videos I've ever watched on the net
Nahre you are a beautiful Human being. Thank you for sharing!

A lovely, lovely thing - a gift to your mother, your self, your memories.
You have a very smart mom.
And a lovely tune, helping remembering the good time you had with your granny.

Nahre, all your videos have vivid impacts on me, but once in a while you make truly extraordinary ones. This isn't one of them, this is beyond.
Wow Nahre, thank you for sharing this beautiful video. Aside from your incredible talent - you’re such a patient teacher!!
The color pink in a person's aura indicates unconditional love. I enjoyed the music.
Bravo..))) no more words, just let it sing...😊
It's so awesome to see you and your mom bond by making music. I have the Mother's Day video you made with her on a favorite playlist of mine on regular rotation. I guess I'll be adding this one, too! Both videos are such sweet gestures for your mom. They're so very moving.

you are a good daughter....all the best and stay safe...🍁🤠👍
Just watching your mother's message to her mother, and then performing her first song with such glee, made me cry. Condolences to your family.
I love the fact that the final song uses typical trot melody (usually assosiated with upbeat feeling) but also has some reflective quality to it. Somehow reminds me of Tombeau de Couperin... Thanks for sharing this incredible experience.
So beautiful! What a wonderful gift for you and your mother. And for us to see a composition approach that was so fun.
This is just so sweet. I'm sorry for your loss, but I'm glad you and your mom were able to bond, and through music too!
I cried with this vídeo. So beautiful. Your Mom has a very deep sensibility for music, I have noticed it at the video where she plays with you.
Omigosh, Nahre, that's so beautiful and wonderful! I'm all choked up now...

Nahre, you're one of my favorite people. My father died recently. I wish I could compose him a little waltz. He loved those.
I cried a lot when she started to play. Thank you so much for upload this content Nahre, you’re just amazing
Nahre, you and your mom, thanks for sharing. My condolences on the passing of your dear mother and grandmother.
Cant stop crying and smiling. Absolutely beautifull. Thank you for sharing something so pure

What a great thing to do for your mom. I need a tissue too.
I was weeping Nahre, especially when your mom called your grandma "mom" and introduces the piece she was about to play. Love the warm relationship you both share and the memories you have have. Wonderful video, may your grandma rest in peace :')
Lovely. Music heals and soothes, brings out the best in people.

아..너무 따뜻하고 감동적인 영상이네요. 저도 내년 부모님 생신때 노래를 만들어 드려야겠다는 다짐을 했습니다. 항상 좋은 영상 감사해요 :)
