Hey there, if your J-hooks aren't long enough, you would have to get extended J-hooks, or mounting clamps, which are an upgrade to J-hooks because they clamp onto a wider surface of your bed cap, so typically won't leave an impression like the J-hooks are known for. Hope that helps!
I just finished installing my back rack on a 2020 toyota tundra. The quality and ease of installing is great. The only problem I have with it is that its too short. Its barely level with the top of the truck. I'll have to find a way to pickit up a little.
Same on f150 because the top of the truck isn't flat it curves up so while the back rack is slightly higher than the immediate back of the roof it's not higher than the middle. Did you figure out any ways to add height to it?

How does the toolbox actually secure in place with the backrack as I would imagine the J hooks that came with the toolbox would be to short now ?
