Always learning new things from Ajhan Sumedho. He is a great teacher. Samadi practice is much easier following his approach. Sadhu Sadhu Sadhu. WV

Everyday for 3 years I've been practicing breath meditation for 60 - 80 minutes. Over the last few months I've been adding what I would call 'free time' at the beginning and end of each session. Then I come across this upload which perfectly describes my 'free time'. Funny how these things happen. Even though I've benefited greatly from breath meditation, this 'relaxed attention' practice has turned my daily routine into something much more enjoyable. So much so, that sometimes when I start with this method I don't want to interrupt it by switching to the breath - so I spend the whole time with 'relaxed attention'. Thanks for the upload, Ajahn Sumedo's words are so skillful in shining a light on this subtle realm.

I keep coming back to Ajahn Sumedho’s talks. He reminds me of when I used to go fishing. I just relaxed and enjoyed myself. I wasn’t trying to get anywhere or be anything. Yet, often when I meditate or do Tai Chi, I have goals and an agenda. So I like Ajahn’s Sumedho’s advice to just pay attention.

I can meditate better in the stillness of the sound of silence.

This has a much better vocal quality than Ajahn Amaro. It is calm and considered not a mindless recitation.

But Ajahn Amaro has better hair.

+wannabe withgod Hateful describes your rant... ''it will bring bad merit''... are you scare mongering, cursing or advocating a guilt trip? You blindly accept someone because they are a monk. And that is your justification for hate speech to someone you cannot see and don't know. The Buddha said to use your own reason and not to accept whatever your told. I think that's what suli san did. But you seem to be a gullible hypocrite who blindly follows like a sheep. You are the religious bigot and the antithesis of Buddhism is about.

+Simon Finch Speaking ill of monastics or gossiping about the Sangha is actually frowned upon in Buddhism to the extent that it is included in the 8 (or 10) Precepts along with not killing, stealing and taking intoxicants etc. And expressing anger is obviously a huge no-no.
