      Fans and most media are dumb and/or lazy. I saw “Fields is just a mobile Pickett.” Shake my head. Add an arm and pocket confidence. Imperfect. Not Pickett.

      At the end of the day, the OC is hired to score points. We know averaging 14 points a game won't cut it. I'll leave it there.

    This is a good breakdown. It’s demonstrative of how the offense under Arthur Smith is different than Canada. The problem with Canada was not his playbook, but rather his playcalling and how he schemed plays together. For example, unlike Canada, Arthur Smith attacks the defense in different ways from the same look. Smith uses heavy personnel packages to pass the ball rather than run, which keeps the defense guessing. Above all, I love the emphasis of the QB getting under Center because it heightens the effectiveness of play action pass. That element, moreover, has been missing from the Steelers playbook for years because Ben was infatuated with Shotgun.

      @jakemercer1337 This sounds familiar. Last year, I heard the line has to jell and learn how to play together. I will express my real concern and it's the same as last years. They don't have enough talent. This is the quiet part being spoken out loud. Take away Pickens, and it is over. I don't care who the OC is. At the core, we all know the offense lacks talent. But as fans, we hold onto any flicker of false hope. This week, Harbaugh will double Pickens. Then what?

    • @jakemercer1337
      @jakemercer1337 23 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@Factsonly125 dude, they have a rookie at center, a rookie at right tackle, and a left guard that’s only started two games. You don’t think that has an effect on what you can and can’t do on offense?? Do you know how hard it is to play center in the NFL, let alone as a rookie?? We know they don’t have enough talent at WR. You mitigate that by running the offense in big personnel groupings, run the ball with Najee and Jaylen, and build off of that with play action pass. If they double Pickens then that opens up more opportunities for Freiermuth and Van Jefferson. It also appears that Roman Wilson is coming back this week as well.

    I truly can see the open lanes that present themself when watching the games. I love the RPO options built in to give JF his options and not feel forced to run or stand in and take a sack. Only thing I question is when Tomlin says “we played conservative on the road to not end up in 3rd and long situations”, like okay but you attempt some weird gadget play and lose 10-15 yards every time. How is that better than taking a shot at a TE or slot receiver in the middle on a slant? We have seen so far that JF has read the ILB well and successfully dropped in some passes behind them when they get shifted out of position (well designed plays by Smith)
