    These training segments are great no matter how many years you have been doing them!

    I've been using Extended for about 2 months, putting them to the test, these are the ones that you want!! You can put them on your stomach, rotate side's and away you go! At last! The newest infusion set, simplara or something, haven't seen it enough yet, but look like they do take advice! T1D 29yrs, pumper 20yrs.

      What to do when showering?

    • @daslous89
      @daslous89 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @Barbara Raines what I do is disconnect, use the infusion set plug, but just realized that Extended doesn't come with one. I've been using one from mio advanced, but I do know that you don't need one for them. They seal up. Then, depending on how long you were in, if needed, use a correction bolus. But there's no worries. All the best!

      I attempted to order them up here in Canada (I'm trialing the 780G after upgrading it from 770G). Sadly, Health Canada for some reason hasn't approved them for use in the 780G - but for older Medtronic pumps - these can be used. I've only been pumping for 15 years - late in the game as a T1D of almost 60 years.

      @@daslous89 interesting about there not being any "plug" when we disconnect for shower, swimming, etc. I wonder why ? Not sure if @MedtronicDiabetesUS (can't seem to tag them) - will see my query that's hidden within this thread.

    It would be really nice if they'd develop a WearOS app for android watches. Seems like a totally doable and logical thing to do, especially since they have an Apple Watch app...

    Hi! I’ve just been confirmed for this set but I’m not sure how to let my pump know that I have a 7 day infusion set rather than a 3 day? Or does it not matter?

    • @MedtronicDiabetesUS
      @MedtronicDiabetesUS  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, Rachel. You are able to update the Set Change reminder in your pump to match the duration of the Extended infusion sets. Please refer to page 231 in the user guide here: www.medtronicdiabetes.com/sites/default/files/library/download-library/user-guides/MiniMed-780G-system-user-guide-with-Guardian-4-sensor.pdf

    In the old model (non-extended) , it came with blocker that we can put on the cannula when washing in bathroom , the blue cap here has the same function as blocker ?

    • @KevinWeberYo
      @KevinWeberYo 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      yep that's what I've been doing! though it's two parts now, one for the pump tubing output, and one for the cannula housing.

  • @kilamb984

    @medtronic Just a note towards the end your instructing users to purge air bubbles into their line as if it was a new infusion line then telling them they dont need to do a canula fill step if this was followed it would likely result in air bubbles stuck in the canula

    • @MedtronicDiabetesUS
      @MedtronicDiabetesUS  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      We recommend following the steps listed in the instructions that come with your infusion set. You can also refer to the quick reference guide specific to your insulin pump by going to www.medtronicdiabetes.com/Extended.

      @@MedtronicDiabetesUS sure but you have this video posted which people will be following as a guide endorsed by the manufacturer and this seems to be a clear oversight with the steps being repeated from the start of the video, its pretty concerning to dismiss this and say its not a issue because we should be following a different guide when users safety is at risk

    • @MedtronicDiabetesUS

      Hi again, that portion of the video is referring to a reservoir-only change in which case filling the cannula may result in the delivery of too much insulin. If you have additional questions, you can contact our Technical Support team at 1-800-646-4633, option #1. Thank you.

      Jag brukar registrera ny reservoir men bara koppla ur, koppla tillbaka in den gamla insulin-ampullen när jag byter infusionset.
      Då har man möjlighet att "Fylla" reservoiren och slippa vänta i timmar på att insulinet ska tryckas genom slangen.

    • @FatCatAnna
      @FatCatAnna ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Same here in Canada - okay - they are available - but Health Canada hasn't approved them for use with the 780G - which is a bit odd. They're abit more expensive than the usual Sure-t I use - but hoping that with being able to use them for 7 days - instead of 3-4 days - that in the end - I'll pay less out of pocket. Canada has a horrible #accessforall for technology - so many of us pay out of pocket to live full lives with this wonderful technology.

    Video th-cam.com/video/RwfcQDaj0XI/w-d-xo.html wrongly saying "both the 6mm and 9mm canula take 0.6units of insulin to fill" But the units given are wrong. The canulas are 60cm and 90cm respectively.
