If im not mistaken the "Smoking Brakes" is actually water vapor. The brakes on these Super Trucks get so hot so often they developed a system to spray water on them after braking.

TOCA Race Driver is another game you’d probably like Cosey. It’s on the PS2, you can get it on eBay for like $10.
The career mode is pretty awesome, it has you go through different *tiers* of racing, to work your way to the top.
Formula cars, NASTRUCKS, NASCAR, Monster Trucks, GT Cars, V8 Supercars, even the semi trucks like you raced here.
It’s *WAY* ahead of its time in terms of career progression and even actual cutscenes.
I think you’d enjoy it quite a bit, definitely recommend you check it out.

· Antonio Al-ba-the-te
· Steve Parrish drove a Mercedes truck but they didn't get the license (hence the Moto LKW name)
· Alain Fert (the E is silent)
· Stan Matejovski driving a truck from his home country
· Harri Luostarinen drove a CAT
· Noel Crozier is French so gotta pronounce his surname the French way
· And Boije Overbrink's name is as easy as saying "boish" (1 syllable)
There're some more drivers with weird names but they didn't show up in this short video

Texas Autodrome is an Indy reference. You know where Darlington Superdrome comes from and DePalma is Long Beach.
That first track was like a reversed Long Beach lmao
2nd track was Monaco cut up into a mess

@@kanyeweast7199 - The USA version of this game includes a few bullshit tracks. The European version just has the official tracks of the 2000 or 2001 FIA European Truck Racing season.
Steve Parrish was a top motorbike rider in the 1970s.
Good old Stavros also managed to win the Euro Truck Racing title a couple of times.
Lol dude I've had this game laying around for like 8 years. I remember playing it once about 6 years ago and then immediately turning it off after about 5 minutes.

Here's a bit of info about some of the real tracks:
· The Circuito del Jarama is located near Madrid (capital city of Spain) and was the 1st permanent racetrack in Spain. It has hosted F1, MotoGp, WSC (precursor of the WEC) and more. It's now too small and unsafe for major competitions so now it's just for test days, track days and regional competitions.
· The Circuit Paul Armagnac in Nogaro is the 1st permanent racetrack in France and it once hosted MotoGp but it was a shitshow, as it was already considered "dangerous" in the 1980s (every notable rider refused to race and all races were won by absolute nobodies, the round still counted towards the championship because gotta love the 80s). The main straight and pitlane are now located on the first long straight of the lap.
· The Circuit de la Comunitat Valenciana is near Valencia, Spain and is the most modern track in the game. It has hosted a MotoGp event for every year since it was created and has hosted big stuff like World Superbikes, World Touring Car Championship, DTM and even group F1 test days.
· The Zolder Circuit is "the other good Belgian racetrack". It used to be a bit faster but Gilles Villeneuve's death made the owners realize the track flowed a bit too well. The only chicane on the original track was the final one!
· The Autodrom Most is "the other Czech racetrack". It has never been used for major stuff (except the EuroLMS once) but it's a classical venue for the truck racing championship, they always go there.
· The Eurospeedway Lausitzring is in Germany and it is best known for having hosted a couple of CART races when it was created and being the biggest modern oval in Europe. Sadly, it's the place where Alex Zanardi lost his legs. The roval designed was used by the DTM and World Superbikes, MotoGp considered going there but never visited it. It no longer hosts international races or the DTM.
· The Alastaro Circuit is the shittiest track in the schedule. The main straight is on a dragstrip, it's supershort and using the pitlane in real life requires part of the dividing wall between lanes to be removed. It's fucking baffling they raced there.
As far as I know, all versions in the game are missing ONE racetrack: the Le Mans Bugatti Circuit (the one where MotoGp races). Every year, Le Mans hosts a weekend-long truck festival that includes a round of the championship. Kinda sad that Jester didn't get the full license for the championship (there're no FIA logos) and Le Mans is also missing.
I remember this being one of the first games I got on PS2 along with NASCAR 06. Safe to say 7 year old me did not know how to to brake going into a corner so I sucked at this game.
So I can't remember much about this game but I do know the career difficulty starts on easy and gets harder.

Man, it's crazy! I used to play this game when I was like 7. Funny I just actually thought about this game last week!
I kind of call Gerd Korber the "Tiptup" or "Pipsy" of this game if I want to bring up Diddy Kong Racing for this comparison. He doesn't possess the best speed in the world but his truck has good control and acceleration but for the later GP's like Continental and Lightning Cup, he gets outclassed. Good trucks to use in this game I have found are Steve Parrish, Alain Ferte', Shaun Clark(You unlock him if you place first in the rookie open), Markus Oestrich, for the earlier Cups Antonio Albacete(he has balanced stats across the board) and Boije Overbrink(he's the easiest truck to unlock, all you need to do is win a race in Single Race Mode. Markus Bosiger is unlocked in the same fashion, win a race on Arcade Mode. I cleared the rest of the Cups using Shaun Clark and Steve Parrish.
That's basically a Ryan Newman simulator.
TOCA Racing 3, Corvette Evolution GT, Dakar rally, Ford Racing 3, Le Mans 24 Hours, Ridge Racer V are some other PS2 games to check out

Oh sh-t , this was unexpected, here in Brazil truck racing is something "popular" (we have our own truck game too - for PC), and when as kid, I played a lot this Super Truck Racing..
Note1 - That "clock" is our brake temperature/water supply for cool it

The PAL version of the game is much better, as its a somewhat-accurate representation of the FIA European Truck Racing Championship of the time. Here's a bit of info about some of the drivers:
· Harri Loustarinen is the _cover athlete_ of the game, he was the 2000 champion and this probably shows the game was developed during the 2001 season.
· Fritz Kreutzpointner was the champion in 1999 & 2001. His other claim to fame is being Michael Schumacher's teammate in the 1991 Le Mans 24 hours (they finished 5th).
· Gerd Korber got himself 2 titles with that exact truck (2002 & 2003). Buggyra's role in the series has always been controversial as their trucks have never been much closer to the roadlegal ones but they've supported the series since the mid 90s.
· Steve Parrish is a former MotoGp rider, an absolute nutjob most of his life and a 2-time champion (1994 & 1996). You can find him on Twitter as "Stavros".
· Antonio Albacete eventually became a 3-time champion (2005, 2006 & 2010), always racing with a CEPSA-sponsored MAN
· Markus Bösiger got himself a title in 2003
· Teo Calvet, the son of Fabien, now competes in the championship

You also should check 2 really cool games for ps2, first one is Test Drive: Eve of Destruction or also known as Driven to Destruction, great racing game in my opinion one of the coolest for ps2 and it also fits your style.
