Something a bit more experimental than what I usually do, but I think it’s nice to try out different things. You can definitely tell this started as simple drawings and got more complex and detailed as I went along. (Even more obvious when you compare the soulreader at the beginning and at the end.) I pretty much wanted the style to be entirely black and white except for the characters eyes, which was fine in the beginning but as I drew more characters, they became more detailed to tell who’s who. Which of course made this video take longer than expected to make but it was worth it I think?
Anyway...
I’ve definitely been putting off making a Darkstalker PMV since there’s already so many Darkstalker maps and videos out there; plus I have plans to make at least one or two more... it’s really hard to not make PMVs for this guy, literally every other song I like fits him so well. The next couple of PMVs I’m working on are characters that don’t get as much praise so y’all can look forward to that
I swear I don’t plan to post all my PMVs in the fall it just kinda happens

If you notice it, there’s a small red line in the middle of Winter’s eye.
Might be showing that he’s been enchanted to worship Darkstalker. Very small but awesome detail!

Probably because it’s a small amount of red in the middle of blue, so it contrasts and makes it a bit easier to see.

Trailtracker hmmm yes he probably would have killed his father a lot faster... but also what if when clearsight made the plan to imprison darkstalker she (darkstalkers sister) stopped clearsight from imprisoning him and came up with the peacemaker plan like right then, then starflight would probably be really different and also clearsight would have told the night kingdom about the lost continent and one of the animus’s would have made some sort of bridge to the lost continent and the war would probably still be going on and tsunami would be dead, clay would be fighting with reed, sunny would be ruling the scorpian den with thorn, starflight would be in the kingdom probably serving the queen since his powers were so powerful, glory would be actually fighting in the war (because in darstalkers ark they did a lot of trading with each other so I would imagine the rainwings were a lot more involved in the fighting), moon would be helping the nightwings, you know, quibli would be fighting along with thorn (obviously), kinkajou would be fighting in the war, u know (oh and glory would be queen), winter in the ice kingdom, peril still being in the sky palace and I think that’s all.

Nope, i'd say that is pretty much the symbolism. If i were to delve deeper, i would say that the monochrome nature of the animation is representative of Darkstalker's distorted view of the world. This is backed up by the fact that, at the start of the animation, all of the characters are clear and sharp, but at the end, Darkstalker is distorted and blurred to the point where, if we didn't have the context, it could be any dragon. When Darkstalker turns into Peacemaker, everything turns back into normal, and the world isn't distorted and monochrome any longer.
Can we all just thank Kinkajou- The little rainwing- THAT SAVED THE WORLD-

This is one of the few WoF PMVs where I can tell who is who, and there wasn't even any color other than white, grey, and black! Every frame was a pleasure to look at and the art is amaizing!

Gorgeous as always! I really admire you tenacity to make so many PMVs and with such grace and style, i find it hard to keep up the motivation XD I think the use of greys into colors at the very end is very impactful!
Also yeah dang I also have the problem of wanting to make only Darkstalker PMVs since all the good and edgy songs fit him and not many other characters....but yeah you're right that the market is oversaturated with Darkstalker PMVs. hahah... But this is a great addition! :)

Real quick. Just imagine being Foeslayer, being frozen unfrozen and frozen again for thousands of years, an Icewing freeing your you go back to your home only to find your son who you thought was dead ruling a kingdom and possibly the biggest dragon you've ever met. Then you decide to help your sons "enemys." You then witness him basically restart a war and then allowing him to finally see you. You make him eat a strawberry, and boom. Your taking care of a dragonet that, when he's older, could put on one of Qiblis earrings and sort of become Darkstalker again. Imagine how scared you would be knowing all this has and could happen.
Well wouldn’t he also pop out of existence since the immortality spells would be nullified?

Honestly, I think this was the best way to do it. The silhouettes add tension to the already tense color palette (i love love LOVE the splashes of color. Particularly the icewing blood.) The tension makes the viewer eager and a little unnerved to see each image. And the song gives me a vibe like either something bad is about to happen, or something bad is inevitable because oh hey look at that. Why's the mountain shaking OH GOD PERIL WHAT DID YOU DO!? UN-BURN IT!! UN-BURN IT!!

B) language is fine if it's sparse to make a point- an f-bomb or any other swear can show that you feel strongly about something, but loses the impact if you use it often

Just the shear amount of symbolism and different levels of appearance is incredible.
Speaking of Nightwings, imagine how different Starflight and Sunny could have been if they hatched under the three moons.
Since Sunny is half nightwing, and her father is an animus, she could have been an animus as well as mind reader/prophet. If Starflight was descended from Darkstalker, then that means we can’t ship SunFlight anymore and Starflight might as well been a Animus Mind reader/prophet.
The war could have ended completely differently!

You’ve somehow captured a complex character perfectly in a minute, not just through the scene portrayals but also through the spot on style choices. I especially love the ending and how the style and color changes when he turns into Peacemaker!

Dude that ending was so eery, love it. Though I don't exactly LOVE what Tui ended up doing to Darkstalker, I sure would love to see a book based on Peacemaker's point of view, especially if he eventually figures out what he once was.
to add on, I would love to see Peacemaker find out about his past life at a young age (I mean how couldn't he, other dragons would probably weird around him and talk about Darkstalker and possibly how he "died" and he would've connected the dots). It would be cool if he had to hide it somehow because he had to be a "perfect" son to Foeslayer (Hope) but really he knew the truth and was really depressed... Sorry, this is kinda a sad story but maybe he'd find someone who understood him or something, idk. Maybe he could also one day after having enough of being perfect and hiding that he knew his truth, he went to Moon, Kinkajou, or whomever, and tell them that what they'd done was wrong and technically fighting fire with fire. So that they learn their lesson since this was the exact reason I didn't like the ending, they were against Darkstalker manipulating dragons' thoughts and minds and we even see the bewitchment of Hailstorm and learn how that was wrong, and yet even with most of the 2nd arc focusing on how horrible it is, the way it ended was just that. Turning him against his will into a life he didn't wish for... I would've liked it a lot more if he just died somehow since I know that Tui probably won't do much with Peacemaker. If she did though and everyone learned their lesson, and the book could be teaching that protagonists make mistakes too or whatever, I would be fine with that ending.

@Carly Buckley i allways thought maybe he enchanted it to grow with whoever was wearing it bc he enchanted it for clearsight so her mind couldn’t be read and they were dragonets at the time but that would have been in the scroll so idk.

I just have to say this. I have watched this video more then ten times already. I haven’t been keeping track, but that’s a guess.
I’m not even a huge fan of Billie Eillish, but this song fits so perfectly for this. The last line “when we all fall alseep, where do we go?” When darkstalker transitions to peacemaker is so powerful, not only because darkstalker basically dead, but also the fact that he’s a seer, yet couldn’t see this future aided this line making it even more powerful.
Also, the style and color you chose for this entire video is just so amazing. The black and white contrast each other for a striking image, but also with the hints of color here and there really drew the attention to where you wanted it (or where I assumed you wanted it). I could literally never express in any form of words how happy this video makes me. The eerie vibe to it, especially with the lyrics matching the scene SO WELL, I just- I can’t live man. It’s so so beautiful. Thank you so much for making this, and I’m excited to see what the new Clearsight PMV will look like! God that looks amazing!
