I’m not sure how I feel about Maizono as Karen? I feel like Maizono presents herself as smarter than Karen, and Maizono is much smarter than she presents herself as to begin with. Mm, maybe to have gone with Owari or Asahina? I wish Komaeda and Mioda’s roles were swapped… Mioda would be such a good Damian, and Komaeda would be a fantastic Janis. The rest of the picks were great, though. Akamatsu is a fantastic Cady. Kokichi, naturally, performs as Regina. Iruma is a great Gretchen, especially to Kokichi’s Regina.
Honestly, I agree. At the time, I chose Maizono to play Karen because of her “I’m a psychic” line, and plus her sprites and general appearance fit Karen well. And I wish I had thought of Mioda for Damien! That would be amazing! I’m not so sure about Komaeda being Janis, however. Maybe Hinata could’ve been a good Janis. But thank you for the comment, I must admit it’s refreshing to see an opinion with some actual depth :) I’ve been thinking of remaking this video with some roles that are 100% spot-on.

Honestly, Owari or Asahina are flawed Karens in their own right, I’m not sure if anyone really maps onto Karen too well in Danganronpa. I only thought of Mioda as Damian because I’d latched onto Komaeda as Janis (if I’m honest? less because Komaeda fits Janis and more because the Komaeda/Ouma relationship resembling the Janis/Regina relationship), so more’s the credit to you! You’re right about Hinata too, he and Janis are really alike personality-wise. I’ll keep an eye on your channel!!! :D This is really good content, the thought put into these choices and the characters that fit them is more than clear.
