One bar lit up in powermode wheel is most responsive. 4 lit up less. Tour is set as like sport mode. Most preformance. On dyno its abit more hp than what honda has claimed. Its a beast.
OC: as an owner of a 2019 AT Adventure Sports, I approve of all the giggles in this video. The torque this thing makes at such low RPM means you can just hammer down and it goes. Pair with with a nice sounding can and a quick shifter... its very addicting to ride!
OC: Damn love the look of the Africa Twin in red. I'm so not a ADV guy but I have to get a test ride on one really soon. Awesome first ride Chase. Also yes the giggling gives away it's a definite Purchase. 😁
Not sure if you figured it out or not but the power bars are inverse to the power level. So one bar is max power and four bars is least power. Engine braking is the same way. Only traction control is the way you think it should be with more bars and higher control.
I had an eyeball on the transalp but after watching you bomb this around. I think I'll spend the extra 5k. I've always wanted one but looking for a cheaper option. This really checks all the boxes. Review could not have come at a better time.
You won't regret it. Honda has down played its power on the spec sheet. Common belief in forums. But its just a bike that's big sexy and sounds amazing . I have 23 model in standard and it's the best bike I've owned. 24 model is abit more torque which is good.
adventure bikes with semi off road tyres like Michelin's Anakee's can teach you a lot about cornering with the wide bars, for more lessons get a super moto, then apply to a sports bike progressively
OC: so amazing to see you doing your thing on my dream bike. I ride a Concours 1000, and I made you an intro song years ago. Your channel has grown a ton! Super cool!
I recently traded my Norden 901 on this exact bike and I love it . The Norden is already a distant memory. The AT a far superior bike in all aspects that actually matter
Power level 1 is the best throttle response and power. Higher levels are more intrusive. It is confusing on these bikes because it is backwards than most.
Believe it or not… this was my first bike (2021) Now I have the Africa twin Adventure sports. I absolutely LOVE this platform, it’s so universal and great in all aspects of motorcycling.
That's hilarious - I may have bought the particular bike you rode in this video. If not, then at least it came from the same dealership. It's a great bike, and I'm looking forward to squirrelling around on some fire roads soon. BTW, the two displays are so you can run Carplay or AA on the big one and still see your MPH & gear position on the little one.
Great review, thank you, absolutely love your excitement and enthusiasm! You mention e-clutch . . . the next model up has DCT (with manual over-ride if you insist) which leaves all other transmissions in the dust for performance and convenience. E-clutch won't get a look-in. Cheers from Sydney Australia. 🙂 (P.S. The little LCD readout below the main screen is to give you vital basic info (speed etc) when the main screen is fully taken up with navigation/GPS info)
No he didn't because there is a catch. Your phone must be WIRED to the bike in order to use those features, this bike has HORRIBLE vibration so having your phone mounted anywhere on the bike will render the camera dead within a year.
The power is the same in every mode. What changes is its unleashing. In Urban is softer than in Tour. The round indicators of Engine, Engine Brake and Torque must be read as ‘inibition’. The best way to set the User 1 and 2 is to program for Rain mode 2 ( all inibitors at their max ) and User 1 at the opposite. Enjoy.
I enjoy the effort for detail, but as a seasoned rider, highway and urban riding reviews are really not informative on a dual sport or enduro bike. Wish they would let u take it off road so u can give us the real info we need. ✌️
Yes, they made an SRT 300 with the full bore Scat Pack engine. It's a sleeper, and not too many car guys know it existed, so you could catch a lot of people sleeping. Too bad they never put that Hellcat engine in one. That would be hilarious.
OC I think would be great for someone my size, I'm 6'6" with a 36" inseam. But I don't think I should be staying out on that lol 😂 But the sound it makes is pretty godly!
An off-road motorcycle shouldn't require the fairings (and sometimes crash protection) to be removed to change or clean the air filter. This needs to be addressed by Honda on the next model.
A friend of mine has had one for 2 months, and in 2 months he drove 2000km and in those km he lost 2 screws and there was a problem with the water pump that sent water out. So yeah he´s selling it and going for the Tracer 9 GT that has much more torque on low rpm and for the looks of it, much more reliable. 😅
Weeping? Yep, I replaced my water pump and it stopped. I was beginning to think I was the only AT owner with coolant weeping. 😢 It happens. I think it stops for some ATs but not for me and your friend. What screws?
Really amusing all these long legged 32 inch or more riders , have no clue how much hard work these heavy bikes are for shorter riders . The simple things like stopping on a hill, coming to an unanticipated stop , stalling on an enduro hill, can result in tip overs for even experienced good riders. The cliched response of sliding your butt , are mouthed by people who have never ridden hard off road , or ever encountered the emergency hill stop on a steep narrow mountain pass because a small truck has come to a sudden stop ahead of you and is about to roll backwards . I have a Transalp and bought the low seat 830mm seat height , it is still too tall combined with 208kg wet weight.😮 Have ridden 925mm enduro street legal bikes in the past …no issues . My conclusion is 1/you can have a tall bike if you are a short rider.2/ You can have a heavy over 200kg bike as a short rider. 3/ But you can’t have both …if you want to be safe in the 5% of situations that occur often enough .

Best looking ADV imo, bike is beautiful and it sounds as good as it looks

I have this exact model. I upgraded to this from a CRF 300L. This twin is such a joy to ride. 🥰
adventure bikes are great for daily rides to work
and zombies
Gave in to the ADV bike dark side and got a Triumph Tiger 1200 Rally Pro, these ADV bikes are something else man
Power remains the same between the modes, only throttle response changes. Tour is the most responsive
I love how he says “in the city” but imagine driving this monster in Boston/NY traffic 😅😅.
(Keep it up with the great work)

I just got rid of my transalp for a 2024 base AT. They're both similar bikes but the AT is way better.
adventure bikes with semi off road tyres like Michelin's Anakee's can teach you a lot about cornering with the wide bars, for more lessons get a super moto, then apply to a sports bike progressively
Great first ride vid! Adding some of the Adventure Sports features to the base was a stroke of genius. Tubeless, cruise, etc.

I got the exact same bike and love it. The lower Black crash Bars from sw motech Looks so good. Try it
When can we expect the offroad test?!
Not quite through the video but did you mention it has Apple car play and Android auto ? Such a great feature for any motorocycle 🎉

The least bars on P the better throttle response. The bars measure the intervention on the throttle.

E-clutch for the city? How about DCT b/c that’s already available on this bike.

i’d like your take and view on the Triumph Tiger 900 GT
Have you review the ATAS? That front wheel is 19 inch. Does that affect me going off road if i want to?
How is the shifting?? I’m seriously considering the Adventures sport model but haven’t ridden one yet. Thanks!
