Thank you, thank you, thank you. I had trawled youtube for a day to find out how to install and set up retroarch for my autistic son. I spent hours watching and following step by step to no avail until i found your tutorial and bingo i managed to get it working thanks to you. The other tutorials were very good but technical terms lost me but yours for me, an elderly lady was easy to follow. Peace has returned to the household thanks to you. ❤🇬🇧
Thank you thank you thank you. For your time, your effort and your consideration of others that led to this video. Well done, stay great. These are traits of a genuine good man
This is easily the most I intuitive and user-friendly tutorial I have for RA I have seen to date. Excellent work, and thank you. You just earned yourself a sun 😊 RA started acting up for me a few years back when they did the ugly grey screen update - the joypad button config got messed up so jump and fire got merged and couldn’t be separated - so I went back to using individual emulators for each system, which worked, but was a hassle. If RA is working again now and the pretty ‘it’s not the PS3 menu, honest’ is back I think I’ll start using it again. 👍😀
I pre-ordered the ROG Ally, I'm watching Retroarch setup videos for emulation on the ROG Ally. This is the best one I've found, clear, concise, and quick . Thank you.
Word of advice for some better visuals when setting up the library. It's best not to add a playlist the way you added it. If you instead use the GUI and basically do the same, scan you ROM location, it'll assign a console icon to the top for a better look, it'll add the NES cartridge for the games icon instead of the rocket and it'll have better luck adding the boxart usually. Some of the GUI's will also replace the cartridge with the box art. You can confirm this has worked by going into same desktop window and you'll see the Famicon icon instead of just a file icon. You can then set the main LibCore from a right click drop down.
I used to play Earthbound and a few other games back in the late 2000s, and I finally came back to emulation. This makes it all sooooo much easier. Thank you for your tutorials, I'm also psyched to try out the Pokemon Mini emulator because I always wanted to play them as a kid, but they were so expensive.
I'm clearly confused I'm reading the comments about this tutorial and I see that everybody else is getting it I have no idea to find ROMs and emulators or bio files it says nothing about anything about downloading Roms not in video description or the website so how are you playing these games on a PS Vita where is this information please point it out it's not easy 😕😕😕 not at all upset confused and disappointment please put out the right information
Thank you so much for the tutorial you have helped me quite a lot tonight you are a champion I love how compatible this emulator it is it can do everything
Been banging my head against the wall trying to figure this emulator out. I always forget that there’s always somebody on TH-cam who knows what they’re doing haha. Thank you!
Few questions..what are your recommendations per each emulator in this setup?(meaning let’s say I want a gba or DS emulator) what one should I pick? Would be awesome to have a recommendation list for all consoles on here cause there is multiple for same consoles and I bet most like me don’t wanna download multiples to test out before they get one they like. Next one is I know you said you think standalone emus can be better but do you think there is a big drop off in quality using this to play all the diff emus or should I just stick with standalones? And when you download the “cores” on here is it the same ones as the standalones? (Meaning if I downloaded lets say citra for example is it actually citra or just a hosted client for it?) sorry for all the questions but would love to have them answered cause I’m putting together a pc strictly for emulation for my kids

Your videos are, by far, the best tech help I have seen! Thank you for what you do. Do you have a video on the best cores or how to get the best cores for Arcade / Mame? I have had difficulty with Arcade roms in the past.
Thanks bro, at 2min in when you said set'nsssssss made my ass laugh, thats how my buddy says it. Along, with tuesdy whensdy. :), and again thanks for the content. Subbed.
hey i did everything you said and i got all my games and everything but when i went to go play them retro arch just closes and no game loads and it dont matter wich game i tried them all so can someone help me please
I have RetroArch on my PC but also on my Wii U, even my PSVita. I just wish that games were already named properly so the box art would show up instead of having to manually do it yourself
About recording, with the "no loss" setting the mkv video quality it's perfect, but the size is too big.. what other setting should I try to make a lighter video but with the least possible quality loss?
I thank you for this video, it helps a lot on my games for me to play. I got NES, SNES, N64, PSP, and PS2. But... But PS2 games won't play for some reason. Yes I followed every step of the instructions to the tee. all the games work but the PS2 :(
it said it was missing a pcxs2/bios folder and so i made one. it says it has no issues. but when i go to launch the game it says could not load content....any help?
Hey Simple, I'm so glad I found your channel. I recently bought a retro console called Retro PX4 it basically uses Retroarch as its main program to emulate. It currently has the common games and Emulator NES, Mega Drive etc. I want to load Nintendo DS onto it, is a question of simply removing the SD card and following this video?, except in my case I'm going to load Nintendo DS. Your response will be highly appreciated brother.
how do you change to different emulator? Let's say I'm on NES but I dont want to play NES anymore I want to switch to SNES how do you go back to the menu and last thing let's say I only have 1 game on NES but just added 2 more games to NES how do I refresh it so it will 3 games instead of 1? Your the best btw!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love your videos
I'd like to know how everyone found out which BIOS to use for which core. I downloaded two PS1 cores and according to the wiki/guide the PS1 bios files. Put them in Retroarch/system, renamed them as the readme suggests. Go to run game and nothing happens. RA just closes.
Can you play retro arch gaming emulator offline, multiplay, install mods to some games, and back up data where you can continue your existing data with your gaming process on other devices?
How do you set up a basic Nintendo controller in the settings menu? Trying to map the A and B Button. Please make a video showing how to set up the nes controller
Hi great video Do we have download system / bios files for Retroarch or do we just need to download cores for games and emulator to work proper ??? Thanks

Is it better than the astherx ps2 emulator or w.e
I totally agree!

Let me know if it works for you, I just picked my Ally up and am having trouble getting emulation to work, I have no idea what I’m doing tbh
@@likewhaa22 Hey, I'm no longer going to use RetroArch. They have Emudeck for Windows in development, I'm going to use that instead.

It works perfectly. Click on the file browser tab, then select the folder and rightclick=>Scan Directory.
Thanks G, really helpful comment. @@JuampyRabino
Having the video in the left corner of the screen, then following in the app on the right part of the screen worked great for me 👌 Thanks for the vid!
