I find that headline quite staggering. The "best rugby players in the world" eh? Hilarious. Only the English can blow smoke up there backsides with such blind ignorance and undeserved bravado.
Jim Hamilton is Scottish
He's about as Scottish as the cluster of South Africans - who play for Scotland - are Scottish. I know he played for Scotland, but I know a Scottish accent when I hear one, and Big Jim doesn't have one.
Tbf I go to uni in Scotland and half the Scottish people’s know especially those from Edinburgh sounds completely English to me.
He was born in Swindon (England) and educated at Coundon Court school which is in Coventry - in England. He played rugby for England at under 19 and under 21 age levels. His father was Scottish. But Big Jim is as English as they come. Probably because he wasn't quite good enough to play for the England senior team, he "opted" to play for Scotland - which is a weird thing that you can in the United Kingdom.... along with recruiting all the Southern Hemisphere players that you like to.
Then played Leinster schools? Oh dear
??? What a load of bollocks.
