- You guys chose which log we are milling up in this video! Thank you for all the comments and mostly thank you for picking the one we wanted to mill the most. It didn't disappoint! These are some of our favorite videos to make, so also thank you for the encouragement to get back to the sawmill. What kind of tree would you like to see next?!

Big shoutout to iFixit for providing those repair shop tool kits for our local kids makerspace and highschool shop class. Super proud to work with a company that have important values at the core of their business instead of just being concerned with profitability. We will be donating a Laser engraver to the local makerspace as well to keep the chain of giving going. We greatly appreciate the support y'all😊✌
I really liked this longer more vlog style vid. Nice relaxing chat with you guys. - See you in a few years - Cheers. 😁
That wood looks awesome.
Mat Cremona would be proud of your water bucket skills!!!
Hahah hope so!
Love that you’re able to support your local shop class and maker space!
Hi, you need to get that wood through a kiln to kill off any bugs still in the wood. I watch a channel called “out of the woods” the reason I put this comment in is that he built his own kiln, and I was surprised how cheap it was to run. I do not know if he is selling the plan, but he does turn the heat up at the end to kill off any bugs.
U should build a solar kiln. Look at the one that. Lumber capital log yard built. It works really well
Well, now I know to never take Dylan fishing with me..... I won't be able to inflate the fish-size stories! :D
Beautiful wood
Very nice guys, thanks for all you do
Thanks for watching!
Love what you are doing for local makers and the school…supporting the now and future!
I love seeing what comes out, you never see 2 trees the same. Looking forward to more cutting, perhaps one of the oaks next?
Would LOVE to do an oak! We haven’t done one yet!
To level a log, try this. Get a good piece of timber, lay between rails, use a cheap scissor jack under the log to level. I use a 2in thick x 8in thick piece of oak.
Oh the greatness that comes from doing things yourself and putting in the time and effort. I hope I get to see a video from y’all when that beautiful lumber is ready!
Hi! You won the iFixit giveaway this week! Email us at team@woodbrew.tv with a U.S. mailing address and we will get your box shipped out! Congrats!
Great video as always. Very interesting and informative. Can always count on you guy to do ur research and share with everyone. Just awesome 👌
TY Ifixit!!! What an awesome gift for the students. Great job Guys great idea to give a set to the school.
We love your videos and also no ifixit sponsors you guys. Getting the word out about self repair is important. Me being disabled and on fixed income makes me fix my own things. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve always fixed my own things but just a little harder and slower. A kit like this would definitely help me
Keep up the great work and thanks for the chance to win 🏆
It always makes me happy when I see you posted a new video! I turned my family onto you guys.
Love seeing what y'all do!
Thank you so much!
A huge thank you to ifixit for sharing.
Molly is a hard worker!! That is a beautiful log -- would make a nice bar top.
Love your videos, keep up the great work!
An idea for your potential inventory/stock numbering system. Species code(whatever you come up with), Year cutdown, year initially sawed/processed, zip code of tree location (maybe with +4), board number.... Love the videos and the growth by trying new things. Keep up the great work!
Big shoutout to you and Molly for all y’all do!
It’s rare to meet someone who can look at a board and come up with the actual size of the width I have people who asked me that all the time how big something is and I can give them a measurement within a half an inch without a tape measure it shows that you do a lot of measuring, so you know the size of things without even a measuring tape. Keep up the good work I can tell that you are very particular about the products that you produce. I’m sure that you will be very successful. Thanks for the videos.
Really in love with the education of trees and wood that’s included in this episode. Nice work guys!
Yay! Happy you enjoyed it!
To tag you could use the zip code, month and year the tree was harvested. If you need to take it further you could use days.
Commenting here to see if I get a chance to win. Great video and I enjoyed the sawmill.
I always enjoy your videos! Keep them coming, and I hope y'all have a great upcoming holiday season. Christmas will be here before we know it!
The eyecrometers are getting good 👍
🧐😏
The book match pieces looked like wolf eyes! it would look so nice with black epoxy down the middle...One day I hope to be able to make myself a beautiful table
The “Matt Cremona splash” test. LOL. The bugs you found, were they in the tree before it was taken down? Or after it was down? You have cut some trees already and have the stacked and snickered. Any issues with bugs for therm? Termites, etc? Can you spray them? I have no idea on this area. Great video.
Definitely after it was cut. The log has been down for over a year. Bugs don't like drying de barked wood the same as they like whole logs. They usually start exiting as soon as you cut and stack them.
Love what you guys do and I've got mill envy. Also noticed that you just got into bread baking---highly recommend checking out the Josey Baker Bread book--best resource I've found on the subject--clear step by step instructions with simple recipes for all kinds of bread and pizza.
I find the whole process of milling down a tree and revealing some of its history very interesting. Have you considered using what3words co-ordinates to record the approximate location of each tree?
Very interesting I will have to take a closer look at that.
You definitely need to make a center matched dining table out of some of that!
Maybe so!
great vid, as usual :)
Will you treat the wood now for the bugs? What do you use to do the treatment?
Shouldn't have to now that it's been cut. Bugs don't like sawn and drying lumber that same as logs laying around. They go for the bark and sap wood first.
I don't know much about cutting down trees but would it not be a good idea to brand the edge of each cut with the date. This way you would be able to know when it was cut. Maybe this would damage it or something???
You could do it that way, but it would be very time consuming.
would love to win the kit. keep up the great videos
So, do have any thoughts on what to use the boards from the magnolia for?
Would love to do some cutting boards, and maybe make a table. But we have a good year to decide😅
@@Woodbrew I think that would be a good log/boards to keep for an inside “your” house project.
Since you have a good amount of space, but have y'all considered a solar kiln?
We have, but I don't like some aspects of the solar kiln so likely going with a dehumidification kiln.
Woodworker in a candy store
Thanks for all your videos and thanks in advance for choosing me to win lol
Lol we’ll pick at random so good luck! 🤗
Launch outdoors with the morgans. He has kims showing on his show
I support I fix it.
Is That a Vacuum Hose Reel in the background of the #iFixIt Clip?
No it's a Rockler One👍
Thanks @@Woodbrew
That looks good but I never win anything and I never get anything for free. So you know I don't what to say in it, since this video is an old video I don't think it's available anymore. Talk to you later bye
