How to do: Virgin Hair Relaxer | part 1

  • Hey lovely people! In this video we are going to be locked in on how to properly relaxed natural hair that has never been process, referred to as (virgin hair). This video is very informative and is perfect for beginners and young stylists who is hungry for knowledge in hair care. As a stylist you have to become familiar with your chemicals that you use whether it be colors, relaxers and may more, it is imperative that you know what they do and why they do what they do. That way when you go to choose a chemical for a client you know exactly why you choose the one you choose, because you have product knowledge under your belt. 😉

    Does the hair have to be clean first?

      No, just make sure it’s detangled.

    Did you base her scalp?

      I only base client’s with sensitive scalp otherwise I only base the client’s ears just in case the relaxer get there. However if I’m doing a relaxer retouch on a sensitive scalp I’ll base her entire scalp and also choose a relaxer formulated for sensitive scalp, and same for virgin relaxers. Nb. 95% of the time when clients get burn or damage hair is because the relaxer is left on too long, the chemical mix causes an allergic reaction, the relaxer used is not mild enough. For the remaining 5% the skin is simply too sensitive for a relaxer and it’s best they stay away from relaxers. Thanks for you question.
