Ron helped promote a dying art and save it from extinction. Thanks to Ron, a whole new industry has sprung up with young kids now shaping, forming, welding, riveting, etc metals. The skill of this new generation of metal shapers is seen in The Muholland Speedster - 1936 Packard built by Hollywood Hotrods. The car should have been named the Covell special for his help in promoting metal fabrication into the 21st century.
@@ProjectSupercar Well, I don't know about that! There's all sorts of cell phone skills they master these days. Not the least is the one handed wizards out there.....
The California Stars so cool. Building a car from the ground up I'm sure it's the best way to learn the most. I'm currently in the middle of building a Lotus 7 with my students. A lot to learn.
Ron's a legend.
Agreed and honored to have him visit!
As a Minnesota boy myself, that's pretty cool to see a legend like Ron to notice of what you are doing. Congratulations.
Oh man Ron Covell is the man!
A meeting of the masters! Cool!

What an honor having him stop by! Just watching the two of you for me is somethin else.
I cant wait to go to his workshop in January! 🙂
You are AWESOME. I just saw Ron Covell video with you and wow... 2 true craftsmen in 1 room
Thumbs up, sadly there's not enough channels like this doing ground up car builds from scratch.
Project Supercar in many ways lost art for sure
@@marcijunebug Yes you're right, kids just don't want to learn this skill anymore, or any skill for that matter.

@@funone8716 LOL, yeah you're right. :) :D

There's a video Ron did on the building of the California Star here on TH-cam. Cool to see his process on building a custom designed car from scratch.
Ooooh that car behind Dr. Runge, could we see some more of that please, it looks amazing!
Is he a doctor?
I like to think of them as VW and Porsche inspired! But man are they beautiful!
Wanted to take his metal shaping class so bad this weekend, but have family commitments!
