*A quiet **Generater.Systems** , love the dual fuel capabilities, camper is 50 amp but the adapter helps and found it still handles the load. Haven't taken a camping trip yet, that's in a couple of weeks. Will see how well it does over a long weekend.*
Great review Gavin. Having a dual fuel is just so much nicer. Gives you the option to do both gas and propane. Plus people have to realize if there’s ever a power failure fuel pumps won’t be able to work, so the propane will come in handy. Plus you can keep propane in tanks for a long while and they won’t go bad, compared to keeping gasoline around. 👍. Thanks buddy.
Just got this generator yesterday. Fired it up and shocked at how quiet it is! Can’t wait to use it for our next camping trip. Thanks for the awesome review videos!
Glad to see Wen has a dual fuel inverter generator option now. For those of us that have a big propane tank already sitting in our backyard for our home, it would be silly to not get dual fuel. Another great generator overview. Thanks.
@@nimrodpaul6875 You can split off before the regulator right at the big propane tank. For a given temperature, the pressure in your big 500 gallon tank is the same as the pressure in a little 20# tank so come off pre regulator and then go to the regulator on your generator. I attached to my vapor equalization connection on the big tank with a MEC ME141 Acme Vapor Coupling, Brass, 1-1/4 in. F.Acme x 1/2 in. MNPT adapter (I got mine at DK hardware). This vapor valve is not the emergency over pressure valve and it contains a safety valve that will close if a huge amount of LP tries to exit. i went from the ME141 to a BBQ hose adapter and then to my generator regulator. This is a connect as needed setup. You might have to put a little heat into your generator regulator if you propane tank is hot from direct sunlight (higher pressure so the regulator will start to freeze up).
@@matttucker3359 one more question( sorry lol) , my propane tank is approx 20 ft from my covered elevated deck, would i have to keep the gen close to the big tank or do ya think I can run it to the deck where if it's trying to be stolen I'm a much better shot.?
@@nimrodpaul6875 I go from the ME141 coupling to a 1/2 in. MNPT to BBQ adapter. That lets me use a standard BBQ extension hose. I put a cable lock through my generators and through one of the feet on the big propane tank. That keeps honest people honest.
I have this generator and was just checking out some videos again after doing some maintenance. Great vid but one thing to take note of, the manual states on page 12: "To remove the mounting plates: 1. With the help of another person, place generator on an elevated platform such as table or workbench. Make sure the generator is stable. Do NOT TILT the generator as there may be remaining oil inside the crankcase from testing." And on page 13: "To add oil, follow these steps: 1. Place the generator on a level surface. Make sure the engine is off before adding or checking oil. CAUTION: Keep the generator level! TILTING the generator to assist in filling will cause oil to flow into the wrong areas of the engine and cause DAMAGE." I'm not a ninny but I thought I would point that out, the manual is pretty adamant about tilting this generator. lol Cheers and thanks again for the review. This generator has been great for me.
@@GeneratorReviews True but apparently there is the "there MAY be remaining oil inside the crankcase from testing." lottery. Excellent, thank you!! Definite thumbs up. 20 years I had regular generator for emergency country house backup. Very noisy and noise on the voltage. Gas only. It is problematic keeping gas fresh for backup power. Even with stabil. I ran tank dry. Exercising it every few months is critical when talking 20 years. Some folk say to use recreational gas with zero ethanol to keep fresh longer and less varnish in carb. As Gavin pointed out, this WEN has easy gas shut off for carb draining. (WEN apparently is based in Elgin Illinois). But I desire less hassle of just propane going forth. I heard 30 lb cylinders may be available. This particular brand and model I think wins my purchase. Furnace is modern, DC blower fan, soft start, whole thing under 900W running. Sump pump next critical thing. A fridge and freezer. LED lamps are freebies. Look forward to safe use of clean sine wave power of an inverter type. The risk of someone hacking our power grid pushes me to get this unit. If it were interrupted, there would be a run on generators fast, none available. Best to be prepared. I’ve read others saying 5 hour break in and on gas for topside lubrication, and use a magnetic dipstick to catch metal particles. No one says where to buy a magnetic dipstick. Maybe Auto Parts store? Gavin, pointed out a filter. Air filter?? Or would it actually have an oil filter?? This looks like exactly what I need. Only possible carp, that electronic display is said to be dark, hard to read in daylight. Thanks much Mr. Gavin!!
