I'm watching in June 2024. Had a video about James Cleveland in my feed. And came across this video. I had a powerfully moving Holy Spirit encounter while listening to Walter Hawkins and the family. It was in the early eighties but I had been listening since the seventies. It was on the night I got baptized in the Holy Spirit. Don't recall how much time went by. I was home alone seeking God and complaining that I didn't have the baptism. I ended up moaning in the Spirit and then spoke in tongues. I put on my cassette of Walter Hawkins and completely lost track of time. The word were " Ive been praying all night long". I certainly had a break through.
Thank you for this history. My late sister had all of the Hawkins family's albums. Something to keep us going, to stop and listen to this. --- BUT, it ended sorta rough...
I beleive their should be a full length play or movie about their lives that the church community should flock to as much as a Tyler perry play or movie.
