    For my Golos deck it's just a 5 color "good stuff" sorta deck. It's basically 50 cards that are mana rocks and lands (and the commander), then a side pool of ~150 cards (including Kenrith as an alternate commander). I then pull 50 cards from it at random and shuffle it with the core deck of lands and rocks and that's my deck for the session. I've also built it so there are no tutors, including land tutors, so no Rampant Growths or the like, other than Golos, so that I have no idea what's in the deck other than those rocks and lands when I play it. It's a great way to add some variance to a deck, a sort of sideboard/cube on the side especially if there are some cards that you might want to play in a deck that might not make the cut. Have some flex spots that you can rotate cards in and out.

      Jacopo Genovese as for their effects, I think they’re pretty similar. Depending on your meta, you’ll want to use one or the other. Omitri wants to be in for a faster meta since hod’s casting requirements for his first cast is cheaper and easier to do. Brakkos is better in metas with a lot of interaction because he has built in recursion for himself

    You totally inspired me to make a Golos deck after your first Golos video, and I've been messing around with it since. It's become a more "token/populate" deck, working with that Swarm Intelligence, Brass' Bounty, Treacherous Terrain, and an Anointed Procession that I managed to pull. Quadrupling my token output has been pretty neat in test play - looking forward to trying it out officially.
    Thanks for what you do! Really enjoying the videos you put out.

    • @skirishlad7095
      @skirishlad7095 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      2 months later, and I have to say that this deck is a monster and terrifies my friends when I pull it out. It has a 1/3 chance of completely wiffing, but each other time I make enemies quick, but not quick enough to stop it without a board wipe. It does, of course, get a little Solitaire-y, but it's sometimes fun becoming the archenemy - epsecially when people who haven't played against it before don't heed my warnings haha.

      When the rest of the ponies are released, the deck will focus on Twilight's ability.
      Right now I try to resolve Divine Intervention to make the game draw.
      Thematically I include a bunch of Friend/Foe cards and Assist cards. There's a bunch of political work to make friends at the table. Giving the lands, cards, and stopping combat.
      If I come to the end game and the table won't let the game draw, I just win off of my quiet maze's end built up. The deck also includes Door to Nothingness to remove my foes from the game.

    1. I like how aware you are of your decks and how openly you communicate with your play group.
    2. One of the best times I had in EDH was when I was against a Jhoira deck and he had to win this turn or he was dead. Needed to get Lab Man, but he copied Jhoira and had a card draw doubler in play, so any artifact FORCED him to draw 4. Lab Man was literally the last card in his deck and he couldn’t play more cause he’d deck himself as he drew it. Another guy wanted to concede earlier, but I convinced him to stay in the game and then we knocked out the Jhoira player and I won a couple turns after that.

    My deck stable is about fifteen decks at the moment, but I've been playing Magic for 26 years and Commander for almost 10 so I've got decent cards to chose from. I also play against a lot of people who don't have their own collections, so I try to have a nice balance of deck types for different people's play style and archetype preferences.
    EG: Mazirek - Aristocrats; Brago - Blink; Teneb - Reanimator; Freyalise - Tribal; Mayael - Fatties; Teysa - Tokens; Phenax - Mill; Akiri - Voltron

    I really liked this video - and just in general all the content that Mitch is putting out recently. I was ready to go on a magic (i.e. Commander) hiatus since my playgroup kinda drifted apart, but Mitch and quarantine got me brewing again ;-) I already had Maelstrom Wanderer (good stuff), Talrand the Sky Summoner (control and tokens), and Sigarda Host of Herons (voltron enchantress) - but now I'm brewing on a budget Arcades the Strategist deck and a not-so-budget Zirda the Dawnwaker deck (which is a welcome challenge, since most people I play with don't like or play combos that go infinite).
    So, guess I just want to thank Mitch for giving bringing me back and inspiring me to brew :-)

    Hey Mitch, that Marwyn deck tech was what got me into Commander and it was the basis for my first deck. Are you going to pick up colossification along with sudden spinnerets from Ikoria?

  • @daxreythaak6328
    @daxreythaak6328 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have Atraxa, Tatyova (A very heavily modified/Upgraded version of the deck tech on your channel, actually!), Gishath, Trostani Selesnya's Voice, and Maren of Clan Nel Toth.
    Atraxa and Tatyova end up being my favorite to play. Atraxa because she's all of the +1/+1 counters I ever wanted and Tatyova just being play a pile of lands and abuse all the mana.
    I have a Brudiclad deck that's never clicked very well for me that I may end up deconstructing (alongside the Trostani deck) to build an Omnath Locus of the Roil deck, and finish out my half-constructed Ghave deck.

    Rarity! I built a princess twilight sparkle deck aptly named "if it pleases and sparkles". It's a group hug deck with as many alternate wincons i could fit. My group always underestimates its power lol

    My baby is my Sydri Artifact deck that is all permanents. No instants, no sorceries. It makes you come up with some creative solutions to certain problems, like spot removal, or interaction in general.

    I built your Marwyn deck and I’ve since upgraded it with some more elf synergy, but I really want to add Sudden Spinnerets and Colossification from Ikoria to it. The former is basically a straight upgrade to Vines of the Recluse, and the latter is a hilarious boost with a negligible downside (you’re probably tapping Marwyn to pay for it anyway), and if you can swing in unblocked with it, it’s an instant KO even with no other buffs on Marwyn.

    My decks I've currently got are Yidris Jankiness (mostly a goodstuff build so my group doesn't hate me), Sharuum Artifacts, Oloro for when I'm playing with someone I don't like, Kruphix Giant Spells that's getting some new updates from the most recent sets, and hey! Ink-Treader Nephilim! And it's actually the same deck Mitch did for Commanders Quarters! I really loved the idea of the deck and wanted something budget but unique for when I play with people that are newer to MTG, and it's been working great! Next up is going to be my favorite commander from Ikoria: Zaxara, the Exemplary. I've been super excited for the X-emplary Ramp build I've been brewing up and can already tell it's going to be my most powerful deck I've ever built!

    I’m a Johnny player. I have little notes for my decks & what’s the key cards for it, alongside always having some form of staples. Such as prototype portal, soul foundry, and some artifact mimic card. After that, some ways to get cards out of exile if possible, otherwise whatever the key component of the deck is. I love my artifacts.

    Sweet decks Mitch, always impressed with your ability to take a deck in a different direction. Would love to see some of these in action with some gameplay videos (I know that's not really possible right now) but thanks for all the content you're making recently

    Kenrith is quickly becoming my favorite commander of all time because you can build just about any kind of deck with him from janky mono-white life gain to hard core cEDH and anything inbetween.

    Just as a heads up, feed the pack would only give 12 wolves since ghalta only has 12 toughness.
    Withstand death only targets 1 thing so it doesnt protect everything from board wipes.
    As always great video and loved to see the decks. I wish more content creators would open up their collections like this

    Progenitus is a fun and very flexible commander to build around. I have a deck themed around "Legendary matters" where all of my creatures are Legendary (with several other Legendary permanents).

    I've only got 3 Commander decks which are Sliver Overlord, Edgar Markov, and Alela Artful Provocateur. Alela I built from the video Mitch here made about it, but I swapped like 30 cards to suit my playstyle. Edgar and Overlord I built completely from scratch with no help from anything or anybody and they are brutal.

    Kaalia of the vast, yisan, and marath are my current decks. Ordered the 2020 commander and thinking of tooling up at least one or two. Want to build some sort of a fun deck with blue since I rarely play that color. Contemplated Zur for a competitive deck but remembered I like having friends.

    Jeffery really makes decks quickly huh
    Side note, I have been trying to make decks each with a different idea of how it plays for each, a land matters deck with Gitrog, a reanimater deck with Meren, a group slung/burn with Torbran, Niz-mizzit card draw combo, and Zur mill deck plus making a Wort spell singer deck. I need more deck ideas though. I am thinking Karlov Ghost Council life gain deck next.
