    Nothing more satisfying than spending a free afternoon to reorganize cables inside a case! And also finding some random solution like that biz card storage! Nice!

      @@DJRachelLynch yea I did see his new booth. Which also has a small and large version correct? Does the smaller version fit the rane one?
      Also only downfall is you have to buy your own case/rackmount to fit inside.
      I’d really love to see one of them come out with one on wheels that you can leave together so you can just roll in and roll out.

    • @DJRachelLynch
      @DJRachelLynch  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MixMasterDJService Yes. There is a “L” and “XL” version of each style of booth. The “L” will fit the Rane One. The point of the booth is that it’s portable and easy to assemble. There is no need to keep it assembled to roll in. Besides those rules of booths already exist. 😉
      The gear is much more protected in the SKB cases. It’s designed to come apart and assemble quickly. 👌🏻

    Great work Rachel, loved the card and battery holders. However I’m not a fan of just plugging in to a power base, I been at gigs where the electricity was dirty or the other electronics interfered and cause hisses and other noise, that’s where a power conditioner comes into great use when pluging to many devises. Another observation is that I don’t see you use a compact mixer, DJ controllers don’t have premium preamps, to keep the cost down on their components, plus it gives you more cleaner signal and you can have outputs to give audio to videographers that are recording audio from the events. Also it give you better sound and less feedback to your mics than just pluging them to your dj controller. But tight work over all.

    • @DJRachelLynch
      @DJRachelLynch  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Roland 707M is the only controller designed to not need another external mixer. It’s exactly why I purchased it.
      It has amazing mic preamps. That’s why I use this as my “wedding console”. It features studio-quality microphone preamps with independent gain, low-cut, and noise gate on each channel. Normally I would always recommend DJS avoid just using their controller mic inputs without a mixer.
      Also this power base acts like a conditioner. That’s why I got it. Everything installed here is very intentional. 🙂

    Nice job. Next goal is to plug mics, aux and the controller to an external digital mixer or do you like to control everything thru the controller ?

    • @DJRachelLynch
      @DJRachelLynch  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Only with THIS controller. It was designed with wedding DJs in mind. It has great mic preamps. It’s why I bought it. Any other controller I’d be using an external mixer. This has been an AMAZING a controller.

    • @DidierWolfs
      @DidierWolfs ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DJRachelLynch yes, that makes sense. Only few controllers have good mic preamps and complete control for mics. I use a UI24R (two : 1 for reception / 1 for ceremony) as Lou Paris does, as it’s convenient. But that comes at high cost and space in the vehicle. I shall put my hands on the Roland 707 or 808 and see if I can rationalize a bit my kit to gain space and installation time. I am happy with the Rane One, so I’ll see… Even that today, we all look after the last geeky gears but back in the days, I’ve rocked the dance floors with 2 technics and simple mixer :-) And few years ago, I’ve done several gigs with the Traktor Kontrol S2 and external analog mixer and I’ve done the job too :-) We are all too sensitive to the marketing sirens and I’m too :-) technics, S11, Xone92, 1 CDJ 3000 and 1 SC600M at home and the Rane One and sometimes Technics on gigs, so I’m certainly a gear geek :-) Gears have changed a lot since I’ve started Djing in 1987 :-)

    4:40 locating UHF antenna 2 inches of conductive tube parallel to antenna significantly lowers its efficiency and messes the radiation pattern.
    Moreover if the conductive tube is grounded then you'll get RF short circuit that adds excessive load to transmitter output amplifier.
    Consider relocating antennas to at least 1 wavelength from prolonged conductive pieces parallel to it (mount them on top of those tubes).

    • @DJRachelLynch
      @DJRachelLynch  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I apologize, but I only partially understand your comment. I’d like to know more. Right now there is zero issue with my mics but want to consider a correction if needed. Can you simplify your previous comment so I can follow more closely? What “tubes”? Thanks!

    • @froller
      @froller 2 ปีที่แล้ว

       @DJ Rachel When I said "tubes" I meant the poles of laptop stands. Looks they made of steel or aluminum so they are conductive. On such small distances they become passive elements of the antennas that certainly causes changes in antenna's electrical characteristics.

      I had the bunn DJ booth. It’s made of aluminum. The thing I like about the bunn booth is it has a whole tower where you can rackmount equipment. If you want you could leave it together and not take apart. It’s best to see the booths in person like Rachael said so come out to one of the expos.
