    Sounds good. The trident is quick , this must be magical .

    It's good to see the Street Triple LRH getting some love, maybe other manufacturers will realise it's a whole new market potential - Not everyone wanting to ride a bike is 6" tall. :>)

      Indeed! It's a lovely bike, felt really light a nimble and definitely pokey! A good choice for shorter riders as the suspension is set up correctly for the lower seat height rather than modifying one of the standard seat height street triples.

    An interesting vlog and a very useful comment regarding the trident, I was thinking about swapping my street twin for one but as I’ve only got a 27” leg measurement perhaps I’ll have to look elsewhere or keep the ST. Thanks for taking the time to post it, best wishes.

      What year is your Street Twin? Have you tried the new model yet, because if you haven't I'm sure you will like it. New colours are nice particularly the matt ironstone, Brembo brakes I believe and the hp is upped to 65. They've also made some further tweaks to the 3rd gen out this year.👍
      I threw my leg over a Street Cup they had in, and if anything that felt lower than the Street Triple low, so that might be worth a look too!

      Hi Jonny,
      Mine’s 2017, the original spec with a crystal white tank, quite smart, nice contrast with the all black engine etc. I had a test ride on the upgraded model but couldn’t tell much difference so I decided to keep mine a bit longer. I did fancy a street cup at one point but they’re discontinued now so I don’t think I’ll go down that route. I do like the new blue colour of the latest model though, that’s still a contender. I’ve still got to have a sit on the trident but it looks like it may be too tall. BTW, really envious of your location, I’d love riding around Norfolk. It’s a bit far from the midlands for an afternoons ride out. Keep us all informed about your decision. Really enjoy your vlogs, best wishes.

      Thanks F S.
      I've got a few more coming up, Street Twin 3rd Gen 👍, maybe Triumph Bobber, Suzuki SV650, Honda Rebel 1100 and maybe another go on the Yamaha MT07. I passed my test on one of those (lowered).
      I'm looking for a bit more power, nothing crazy, so I've ruled the Royal Enfield out for now.
      Not sure the Street Triple is my style but it was an amazing ride.
      As far as the Trident 660 goes, I reckon I'd need about a 30ml lowering link to feel comfortable, so around 770ml seat height. Not out of the realms of possibility I reckon if Lust get on it. TEC Bike Parts are looking at it too 👌.

      Great stuff, I’ll look forward to those, they’re all “right up my street”. I know what you mean about the street triple, it sounds frantic even when it’s ticking over, I’d probably scare myself the death on it. I think most triples would TBH. I’ll still have a test ride on the trident though just to see what it’s like. Many thanks for the info, best wishes.

      I have a 26" measurement on a good day and I can manage up to 32 inch seat heights.. All I need is one foot on the ground!

  • @county_bear9509
    @county_bear9509 ปีที่แล้ว

    Theoretically the same seat as my z400. I nearly flat foot both feet on my bike at 5'4. I wanna upgrade to more than a 650 but the only options i have are this and the Z900. Z900 is 100lbs heavier and taller than my bike. This bike should be the same height and 40lbs lbs more. How reliable is she?

    I'm 5' 3" as well and was wondering how this bike would be. I know short riders can ride taller machines (check out Doodle on a Motorcycle's channel) but it is so much nicer to ride something that fits. Thanks for the vid

      I found it to be ok. Feels really light at a stop. Its maybe a little high, but one foot down was fine. I didn't feel uncomfortable at all, nor did I feel like I was likely to drop it. Try one, I think you'll like it, really fun, fast machine! 🤘😎

    What is your height

  • @Nosci1020
    @Nosci1020 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Is it the same as the 765rs but just low?

    • @jonnyfications
      @jonnyfications  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Same as the 765R. The main thing is that the suspension and whole bike set-up is designed specifically for the lower version. So, this bike's handling is better than if you were to buy a standard 765R and put a lowering link on it. 👍🏻

      Minus the ohlins and brembo plus one less rider mode.

    I ride past so many times but never have stopped and had a look. What do they ask for for test rides, some just £10-£15 to get on their insurance, others you sign the waver to say you pay the first £1000 of damages, I definitely can't risk that lol

    • @jonnyfications
      @jonnyfications  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No charge really, just top up of fuel used. Insurance for me was £250 excess, but obviously depends on the number of points you have, how long you've had your licence etc. Last time I took one out it was £1500 🙈 🤣
      Well worth a look, free coffee/ tea in normal times 👌

    • @HalfdeadRider
      @HalfdeadRider 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jonnyfications so you don't even sign the waver? Insurance at seastar cost £10-£15 to test ride a bike, to me that's better than signing the waver to pay the first grand in damages if you crash, as other garages get you to do for test rides. I definitely can't afford £1500 😂

    • @jonnyfications
      @jonnyfications  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You do sign their insurance form to pay the first £250 (or whatever the cost is worked out to be for your licence, experience, points etc).

    • @HalfdeadRider
      @HalfdeadRider 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jonnyfications Oh right I understand now lol, that's a bit different. I've heard most do the first £1k or like Seastar as said, a small charge and you are insured. I much prefer that lol, I think BMW do that too. I'd rather pay than risk a large chunk I couldn't afford as I have practically no cash lol

    Hi Jonny, may I ask if you have tried the new trident 660? We have the same height and inseam I think, but I'm a complete beginner. I'm 37 and I rode just my old scooter, I hope it's not to late to start

    • @jonnyfications
      @jonnyfications  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've sat on one and it felt a little too tall for me. There are 20mm lowering links, but still taller than the Street Triple R Low. I've been waiting in the hope that a better option will present itself as I love that bike.
      Never too late, I passed full test at 42.

      @@jonnyfications thanks for the reply Jonny, unfortunately the trident was the one that I like the most, I like the honda rebel 500 and the suzuki sv650 too, even the Bmw g310r...I don't want something too powerful or challenging and I would like something that is comfortable for my height

    • @jonnyfications
      @jonnyfications  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honda Rebel is a fun bike, plenty of power but nothing too crazy. Its nimble round the city, holds its own on the faster roads, but it comes in to its own on the country lanes. Triumph Street Twin is also a nice bike. I found that comfortable to ride and its got a bit more go in it. Plus its a beautiful bike.

      As Jonny said the Trident 660 is tall for a short ass, taller than the Stripple R LRH. Which is a shame, lost market there. I'm trying to find my next bigger bike and have the same inseam issues. Tried a Mt07 and the bar reach and height was lovely, the feet reach had me on tippy toes but what really sucked was the foot pegs was right in the way of my legs.. I'm considering a Ducati 950 Supersport, it has a low seat option but that only goes down to 790mm. I may consider it with lowering links. It sounds lovely.

    • @jonnyfications
      @jonnyfications  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did my training on a lowered MT07, top bike! Had the balls of my feet firmly down on both sides and easy to one-foot it. Might be worth a look 👍🏻
