    HDFC ERGO did not honor no room limit clause for cashless claim in network hospital sighting MOU signed with the hospital. However, I cancelled cashless claim and filed for reimbursement after paying hospital bills. In reimbursement, I got approved for entire amount. Is this ethical on HDFC part? How can I get no room rent limit clause in cashless claim ? I have 10 lakh cover in Optima Restore and 20 lakh HDFC super top up.

      Why you didn't went for Cashless Claim,you have a doubt that HDFC won't give full claim for room rent ?

      @@lrsreddy1709 Yes. Single Private AC room capped at 5k per day.

      I made claim for Presidential Suite room @ 20K per day. In cashless claim Single Pvt AC room capped @ 5k per day was approved hence I cancelled cashless process. But Presidential Suite @20 k per day was approved in reimbursement. Anyone can manage reimbursement of bills are withing ones capacity but beyond that cashless claim is essential.

    Recently IRDAI has reduced the moratorium period to 5 yrs instead of 8. Does that applicable to existing policies & going to be ported policies as well or only applicable to new policies going to be applied from here on???
    Incase we increase the cover amount from here on, will the moratorium period start fresh from for the increased amount or will it just be from the start date of the policy?

      Yes it's applicable for existing policies as well as if you port your policy to a new insurer. If you increase the cover amount or add a new member then the moratorium won't be applicable for that increased amount or new member added to the policy
