This is a tour of Wisconsin gold mines using the same USGS custom maps as I show in Government Gold Maps (GGM) Here: SourdoughMiner.com/ggm/ for more about just where and how you can find and map gold in Wisconsin.
i kno a hole in southrn wi so much black sand. a huge boulder broke in half and fell into and across this area floods every yr and makes the perfect catch. that being said still have not prospect the spot. takes roughly an hour by canoe. down streem maybe ill get out thr this yr.
Question, my home is on top of a glacial deposit in Waukesha Co Wi (Just west of Milwaukee Co). I have found a copper nugget as well as quartz. Would it be worth it to look and Pan out? I've never heard of anyone finding any in this area
I live in Waukesha and have found gold here. It's very small "flour gold" but you can find pieces that are big enough to pick up with your fingers. Pickers are kind of rare around here though. you have to go up north more to get better size pieces. look up "nugget lake". I've never been there but hear it is a good place to look for gold. also check out the Flour Gold Wizards channel th-cam.com/users/FlourgoldWizards for more about WI prospecting.
I live in a town in southwest Wisconsin and have found flour gold in the cracks of the concrete storm gutters at the sides of the streets. The gutter cracks act like a sluice box. I don't know if the gold is naturally occurring or comes from the sand they spread in the winter, or the Mississippi river pebbles they use as aggregate in the concrete and blacktop.
Hey Jess, im over in Wisconsin. There is a bedrock type called Quartzite and i have narrowed it down to be the best location for prospecting. What i find interesting is that this bedrock type encompasses alot of Federal forests where they dont want you to prospect. Weird... Thanks Jess!
Forest service lost their stewardship mission a decade ago and became a wing of the extreme conservation activist movement. This means no access. All is wilderness grr
No I charge for a report on how to customize and use the map to locate related gold zones to start research and prospecting plans with. Maps are free, report & training on what they tell about gold is inexpensive.
I found a lil in se wi... huge diamond found in same area was stolen when tqken to NYC in 1800s. Just getting started with my 12 yr old. Wqs exciting to find the 3 flecks we found. Will be prospecting some glacial tills here on spring ;0)

Thanks for sharing this. I never thought with the glaciers and history that went on. Very cool!
Hey Jess , I just bought a metal detector. I'm a Minnesotan and really had no clue on where to go and dig. Thanks for the GDU. Most excellent.
Good video. Have 10 acres of my own in the last area you circled on the geo map. Appreciate the insight.

What sucks about Wi. is even if you own the land, you do not own the mineral rights, they are retained by the state.
Only if you tell someone
