If you aren't going to grout the tiles, it would look better to remove the tiles from the betting and glue each tile individually. Also, with the added weight, I would add a different hanger. I would be afraid to hang it with the hanger that comes on a dollar store mirror.
I'm in the middle of doing my bathroom mirror and I cut them each to hide as much netting as possible and plan to use a colored caulk on the inside edge of tile to hide a little reflection of the netting on back.

What kind of glue are you using? Look very elegant
What did you do to cover the netting at the back of the tiles? Normally these types of glass tile are grouted so the netting doesn't show.
