Hi, Ben. IMO, the selective frosting of LIBERTY on the Morgan Dollar should Technically make it an Enhanced Reverse Proof. The Peace Dollar is a true Reverse Proof. The coins are gorgeous. I agree with you about frosting PEACE on the Peace Dollar. I also agree that the standard proofs are better looking. I am a Cameo Proof fan. A slab with a proof and a reverse proof would be amazing. Good Job, US Mint. I guess I am getting old and slow. It is tough to even get in third on your videos these days. Maybe I could get a participation ribbon instead of a trophy. 😝 🦉
Donald I like the idea of a set of the proof and reverse proof combination. Do you know if any of the grading companies have created sets like that before? Or, would they? I haven’t checked with them but it would interest me if I can have a set made. 😉
When I was a kid in Mintana, silver dollars were the common currency; we inly saw greenbacks from tourists. My weekly $1 allowance was a silver dollar in those years. Bc my oldervbro gotvunto coin collection, i learned abt some of the coin designs, esp. The Morgan. When the govt basically decided to takevthe silvercdollars out of general circulation, local folks were heartbroken. We loved our cartwheels.
My liberty is super frosty too. Unfortunately, I also think the Morgan I got would probably grade a PR69 due to a tiny ding or imperfection in the field to the left of the face.
The original silver dollar is .77 troy ounces of .900 fine silver. That equates to $1 at the official price of $1.2929/ounce of silver. Minor silver coinage contains silver at a price of $1.38/oz, making silver dollars a better value at face value.
My understanding is that they reissued Morgan and Peace dollars in 2021. None were made in 2022, and they just struck the 2023 in extremely limited quantities. (None of the coins in the series exceeded 450,000, with one as low as 225,000 coins. They are gorgeous. I own 2 complete sets (6 coins each) First Day of Issue, MS 70, with COA. If I can afford another set or two, I will buy them.
Picked up 2 sets. One of the Peace Dollars has light colored lines/marks running up the cheek into the hairline. Disappointing, but absolutely stunning coins otherwise.
So when can we expect the Mint to issue colorized Morgan and Peace dollars? Glow in the dark versions? They’ve done everything else at this point to exploit the collector’s love for these designs.
@@danielwebb7454 First spouse and some commemoratives have mintages below 10,000. Doesn’t make them valuable. These remakes are joke to steal money from “collectors “!
I dunno.....reverse Proofs are kind of like pineapple pizza to me. It's fine, I know some people love them....but if I'm ordering, it's not what I'm getting
You don't have to take a blessing! I sold a 2023' S RVP Morgan's and Peace. I only had the set for less than five days, and I sold it! WoW! I'll take it
Frankly I don't care for these at all. They're expensive "created" rarities that don't represent any existing coinage, and would never be able to circulate due to their inauthentic composition. They're not even a full troy ounce of silver. In short, Overpriced Fakes that survive on their US Mint linage. Calling them coins is an insult. All things considered, I'd much rather have Daniel Carr's 2022 dollars that you featured not so long ago.
I've already flipped and made lots of money off a full set of 2023'Morgan and Peace dollars! Sold one set 24hrs, after receiving them! Cha ching, ever-heard-of-it?
These are the best thing to come out of the U.S. Mint in a long time. Outstanding job the Mint did on these. The Peace dollar is the best IMO. Cheers!
They are beautiful, but I got groceries instead.

@@kita10281Enhanced designation is a minting process determined by the mint, not the grading companies,I believe.
Everyone loves how “Liberty” pops. Something the mint might keep in mind.
I like the reverse proofs better than any of the others in the series! Very well done in my opinion.
I'm very happy with my purchase here. These look fantastic! I was a little worried early, but I'm so glad I maxxed my subscription.
I thought the same thing about the word Peace on the Peace dollar. Both of those coins look pretty great in reverse proof
your analysis is top notch, banter as well!
I agree with Donald I like the regular proofs better

Mann! These are some perfect coins!!!
Thanks Ben!
I just got my set graded, pr70 1st release for 300 and my morgan has the frosty liberty. As well good job
The box lid shows Liberty with a frosted /different appearance aswell.
My liberty is super frosty too. Unfortunately, I also think the Morgan I got would probably grade a PR69 due to a tiny ding or imperfection in the field to the left of the face.
Yes my Morgan has frosted liberty I feel lucky.
Why aren’t they a full ounce of silver? The reverse proof is super nice looking!
They are the same size and weight of older US dollars. Those were never made to be one ounce

“The designer of the Peace Dollar, Anthony de Franco.” Apparently a little-known fact - at least to Ben, “The Coin Geek.”🤓 🤔 😲😳😬

Yep liberty is “frosted” on all the reverse proof Morgans. Does that make it an enhanced reverse proof?✌🏻❤️🇺🇸🥈

what kind of magnifying glass do you use?
Laser engraving has taken the job of the chief engraver
Maybe so but a human still has the salary and job title.

That was the first thing I noticed on the reverse proof morgan, mine is white as well😂
Ok, now i need to find one of these super rare upside down versions of the Peace dollar 😂
Does anyone know why "trust" has a lower case "t" while other words start with caps?
Got mine Monday. Ben what is the symbol on the obverse on the right side below the back right shoulder? It looks like a pitchfork or funky M
It is an M. It’s the initial of the designer

I feel like I wasted $185.

Sorry. I'm not a fan of reverse proofs. In my opinion, $185 a set is a bit too expensive.
I think they're magnificent and the price should be lower, however I would buy both new sets in a heartbeat if had the expendable "Greenbacks"
Just curious what loup type and xx your using. Great coins. New to collecting.

When the Canadian mint takes over the US mint?
Never; they ain't making no Disney, comic or cheap ass t-Rump coins..TG
Your Morgan has a die crack on the neck, I sent mine back
Not even an ounce per coin of silver. At four to five times spot value. You will be able to get these in the future for below issue price.
Not likely on account of the low mintage.
Can you get the 2021' coins cheap? Remember 1st issue coins are usually key dates! 250,000 is low mintage! Ever-heard-of-it?

Considering they sold out within a half hour, I believe they’re priced correctly. They’re already selling for 110% of its original price
