I got an email from Pinehurst a short while ago about buying the reverse proof set from people for $200. My first and only thought was hellll no! I wouldn’t sell my set for less than $300 and even then would have to think hard.
At $200 that’s only $15 over your cost. Geez

I was very happy with the 2021's but had to get the proofs first year 2023. And these I have been waiting for since 2021. One more day. Very nice, this will give me firsts on each coin type.

Those coins belong in a CLAMSHELL!!! That's why I only got (1). MINT is a MAJOR RIP OFF since they raised their GREEDY Costs of almost ALL their Products!!!
So you're really more of a US Mint coin clam shell collector. Maybe if you get the set slabbed it won't bother as much.
No, I 100% agree w this comment. However, with these being first timers, we should appreciate an increase for cost. These are quite unique.
The bigger picture being cost for silver is just as ridiculous as is most federally funded programs given the current, well, "conditions" of how the U.S. is functioning these days, let alone the world. These are very fragile times we live in. Everything is being affected,... and I'm just a gamer.🤙🏻
The overall cost is terrible for how these were displayed and shipped. I absolutely agree.
Raised cost and lowered quality
I agree that they needed a clamshell and better presentation. I also think the Mint needs to overhaul their shipping standards. I get things from Ebay secured better than what mine came. 5 were pushed into a box with 3 tight at the bottom and 2 on top. Then one piece of bubble wrap on top. Nothing keeping them.from being crushed or damage, which the box was smashed on one side amd i had 2 cardboard sleeves that are minorly bent. For 189 each this should not he the case.

Glad you like them! That popping liberty on the morgan was a pleasant surprise for sure! The photos on the mint website are awful at picking up color tone differentiation like that. Imo if the mint really wanted to keep the hype for the M&P as a yearly series, they would rotate the RP set with a high relief set in 2024, and then an enhanced RP set in 2025.

@@SilverWolverine95 Received today! Both coins were knocked out of place in transit, but no harm was done. They look perfect to my naked old peepers. Not trusting that, I took them to my microscope for a better look. Even magnified, I see no flaws! There was some dust/debris that had me going a time or two, but that wiped off of the capsules. Awesome coins, glad I got them!
I received mine on Saturday 1st I am truly pleased with the speed of delivery that’s the way it should work if you have subscription. I wish it worked that way all the time. Secondly the coins are absolutely beautiful. I am truly pleased with these glad I did not reduce my amount. Subscribed even got some extras not to get graded. Very good video. Keep it up.
My coins usually arrive on a slow boat from China. It does not matter if I buy via subscription, at 7:30 or on release day, I am consistently the last person to receive coins from the mint. They must hate me.

Yours looks nice. Nice and evenly struck. My 5 sets arrived all still in the case and not loose. But, some were struck off center. I hate that!

I just got off the phone with the mint about returning my Reverse Proof set. Small nicks and scuff marks are unacceptable.

I got 2 of my 3 sets today. 1 of my morgans in the front left field almost half as long as the coin was a line of no front just gone sticks out awful!! Then lower front of the neck 2 scratchs. Im very upset!! 00 way that quality control even trys to do there job!! My other set coins look ok but my morgan has big peaces of fiber inside the holder. For sure from here on out i will buy and pay extra for graded coins!! Wish i got mine from CAC or ngc i just hope my last set is not trash! I will send the awful set back and start looking at some from cac and ngc before they start to get to expensive. Just buy a set now wait to get my 185 back. Id hope the mint dont sell my return trash set to someone else and they never open it rip them off!

I got my coins and they have scrapes across face and neck, they are on the coins. They will allow me to return but no guarantee of replacement. Do you think I have a good chance of replacement? Thx😢

Hey, hey SW. I received my 2023 Reverse Proof Morgan & Peace Silver Dollars today. Of the 3 ordered by subscription, one box is going back due to scratches on the face on the Morgan, and on the Peace. Of course the coins are from 2 of the 3 boxes. Very annoying! $92.50 a coin, and 2 out of 6 coin's have scratches on the obverses. 🤬 Oh yeah, like yours, two of the box set coins were out (loose) from their shell holders. 🤬

Everyone's crazy for the Morgan. Having many morgans when silver hit 14 I started buying Peace dollars at $16. I bought 5 1921's. So when the new dollars came out I wanted the Peace. It was the same mint, same high relief, same design only in 999. Morgan hit 1,000,000 while Peace was 200,000 limited edition. I have seen many DMPL Morgans but never a Peace so I had to get the proof set, one of a kind. And now a reverse proof set. Simply Amazing. I should have bought more proofs. The only Peace proof ever, the only reverse proofs ever. I can see why the mint sold out in 5 hours.
At the start of the video, I wish you the best of luck and hope you have better luck then what I got with my coins, as I ordered the limit and 3 of the 5 were damaged and had to be returned.

Congratulations Wolvie. These are stellar coins. Good to see that the 2023 Reverse Proof set has been a huge hit for the US Mint and a sell-out. The Morgan-Peace proof coins were panned by many and did not sell out. I think many collectors were saving their money for the Reverse set. Appreciate your videos tremendously. Please keep us updated on how the Reverse Proofs perform on eBay and the after-market.

They struck 400,000 of the proofs and only 250,000 of the reverse proof sets. The regular uncirculated finish mintage was 275,000 each
Personally, I love the proofs. They are absolute jewels, they are so beautiful. This was the first time they had struck a proof peace dollar with mirrored fields and frosted devices. Being a huge fan of the original series (1921-1928, 1934, & 1935), It was really exciting to me that they finally struck the Peace dollar as a modern frosted proof w/ mirrored fields. I think they turned out amazing.
Got my 3 sets today. All 6 coins were loose in the box. No defects detected to the naked eye so I'm happy.

So I finally gave in and purchased from the usmint again first with the in-cut sheets and this stunning reverse proof set . 😩 they got me ! But I had to do it there beautiful coins something to pass on to my children I’ll let them fight over them ha ha . Do you think these are worth getting graded ? since the mintage was pretty high I figured probably not . What’s your opinion?

UPS has mine! Working schedules make it impossible & with $$ involved I got jacked for $5.95 to have them sent to UPS STORE. All previous mint shipments were sent USPS & simply picked up Saturday.. just waiting

Mine just came in, got delayed because they sat around in Memphis for 2 days doing nothing at USPS. But luckily they are both perfect, some dust and whatever on capsules here and there, I thought one was a mark on the coin at first but when I rotated the capsule it moved so I sighed in relief. Also mine did not got knocked out of their holders, except the peace dollar was not seated all the way so maybe partially. The frosted Liberty on the Morgan does look really good, it’s hard to do it justice.
Happy you like tge product Wolvie! Got my 5 sets yesterday and all seem good. Two of the cardboard sleeves have slight edge bending cause the mint doesnt knownhow to ship items. I am thrilled with the sets and that I chose these as my only US mint purchase this year. Good review bro thanks.

On a side note, since the LIBERTY is frosty on the reverse proof, shouldn't it have been shiny (i.e. mirror-like) on the regular proof (it isn't)? Also it might be an optical illusion on the reverse proof, I believe it's the same shade/color as the frosty fields.
The "Liberty" on the Fiji reverse proofs were shiny, (minted @ the U.K. mint)

Loose box in my package and the coins were lose in their box. Theyre loose in the capsule and had fuzz inside the capsule. Still great coins just a high premium. It's still great to have the first reverse proof Morgan's.

Just returned the two sets I received. Both Morgan's had a defect, one was a small like dent and the other a nick. The Peace were fine but they said I had to return both full sets. They said it can be replaced, I hope so.
Unfortunately both my sets has a small nick on the Morgan, crazy thing is both in the same spot. 😢
Got 2 of my 3 sets today. My morgan was awful in 1 set!! From morgans chin to the neck the frost in the field in a line is gone as well 2 small scratches in the front lower neck area. Not happy! My other set looks ok but a few big pieces of fiber inside the holder. Happy yours are nice im upset with my damaged morgan 0 way quality control is doing there job!! I will only order and buy graded coins from here out when it comes to morgans or others unless they are cheap! 185 for a set and the morgan trash is crazy!! Hope my last set they are late even sending out is not trash!

It took them too long to sell out, but they surely are stunning. Took about 24 hours to sell out, remember not that long ago coins like this from the Mint wouldn't last an hour before selling out. Ordered two sets on subscription and glad I did, they are amazing.
Got 1 set down from 5. If u miss out you can get a 2024, 2025, 2026 etc. Expensive for an item with no scarcity, might as well stick with a full ounce silver eagle at less than half the cost.

Hey Wolverine are you sure they came from Memphis? They must’ve had the Memphis address label on them but were actually shipped from Irving, TX. I noticed that while tracking with Informed Delivery and the fact that I’m just down the street from the Memphis shipping department.
Did you notice a slight wiggle, I believe on the Peace Dollar as if it didn’t fit as snug as the Morgan Dollar. I wonder if that could be a slight variance in the coin or the capsule.

I am glad I dropped the 5 subscription to 2. Will send one set for grading and one set for collecting. After watching SW, I agree that 2 is all you need. Plus, even if ordered 5, they are not going to worth maybe 2.5x - 3x the price and the chance of quality control.

Well, the mint never ceases to disappoint. Have some sort of smudge on the peace dollar that looks like a greasy fingerprint. Hopefully, that's all it is. Being sold out, I won't be able to replace it. If I send it back, I lose the morgan. because they didn't sell them individually. Maybe if I can't get the smudge off, I'll see how many times I can skip it across the reflection pool at The Washington monument. Not, it's not the holder. I ha to raise the holder to ensure a different mark wasn't actually on the coin. Rest assured, it's a permanent mark on the holder I'll be stuck looking at anyway.

@@stephenbassett9451 nope Had no complaints with the 2 2023 S eagles I got last month. Why should anyone expect less? This isn't a cheap $30 dollar mint set. So much effort goes into producing these, they have to charge high prices, then it all gets negated because somebody handling it took a shortcut.
So bummed I ordered 3 and 2 of the 3 I can see the detergent/wash, and on the one without detergent/wash there is a gash below the Liberty, I’m so pissed. I feel like these are going to be a condition rarity/prone to milk spotting.

OMG. Three of the Four Morgans had slight blemishes and or scuffs on her cheek. Of course I thought it was the airtight holder but it wasn't upon FURTHER inspection. Sheesh. Gonna try n get replacements.

I didn't order any of these reverse proof coins. I think like the proof morgan and peace dollars they'll fall in value from the initial excitement. I see the PF70 Morgan/Peace dollars can be bought on ebay for $220.

@@SilverWolverine95 I'll buy the reverse proof in 70 grades if they fall low enough which is the case for the 2023 proof morgan and peace dollars. I must admit it feels better to have the coin and capsule instead of a slab. Let us know in a future video if you've seen the reverse proof dollars back on sale at 730am. I checked one morning and they weren't back to the red add to the bag.
Mine have no flaws- they were bouncing around in the box, but stayed in the capsules.

Could have had one of the 2023 proof editions available to show the difference between proof and reverse proof. I had to do this to show my nephew the difference, easier than trying to explain it. Or easier to show the difference.

Not too much I can add to the comments at this point. That said, they look gorgeous. I will look at my sets under a microscope and pray that I don't see anything my naked eyes don't see.
I looked and do not like what I see. I will return 2 of 3 sets because of problems with the Peace Dollar: one coin has a visible red line that could be material trapped between the coin and the capsule. The other has a really ugly red line that looks like a scratch. The worst part of this is that I have to return 2 sets because I can't swap damaged coins between sets. What did the good folks at the mint say? They will set me up with a remind status notice. Great! Not happy in CA.
