High Voltage Microwave Transformers MOT Experiment

  • "DANGEROUS EXPERIMENT" to be replicated only by persons competent in electricity!
Medium voltage experiment with two microwave transformers:The transformers are connected with 230V in parallel, added to them two capacitors of 16mF 400V rephasing in parallel to lower incoming absorption. The secondary windings of the transformers are connected in series, added 2.1 KV parallel series capacitors. To obtain a constant and higher charge it is necessary to insert these capacitors. These types of transformers have a short duration of operation, without cooling they can burn in less than a minute. To overcome this inconvenience, I added various seed oil as cooling and insulating. "This type of experiment is already known in the field of electricity.

@@kane3331 Any dissolved particles in an oil not intended as a dielectric can increase its conductivity. I have seen motor oil, cooking oil work quite well, though. Pure mineral oil is available as fragrance-free baby oil. Transformer oil is best, but it's not cheap, and in many places, you cannot buy small quantities.

I have no idea, you might be better off asking your local fish and chip shop how long it takes hot vegetable oil to go rancid.
On the shelf unopened usually it lasts a couple of years before it goes off. Heating it makes it go off faster.
The biggest downside is you are probably going to want to buy some chips every time you fire up the MOT!

The voltage is added by putting the transformers in series, but the current (power) decreases. On the contrary, by putting the transformers in parallel you gain current (power). But in all this it depends on the mains voltage at the input.

@Eddie Hitler Not DC after the caps. The caps make it a resonant tank circuit, something you can't do with DC! AC POWER!

    Capacitor is important?

If you wire two high voltage capacitors in parallel, then put the HV eire from the transformer on one side and then make your output the other capacitor on the opposite side, you'll get resonance. Doing that gives you bigger arcs. If I explained anything poorly I apologise
