- In this vlog we stayed at Coober Pedy , South Australia . The vlog did not go to plan after been told I could not record at the breakaways while caravanning around Australia . It made us feel uneasy and the video did not go to plan . Most attractions were closed and the mine tours were self guided . In the end we still had an awesome time in Coober Pedy and now look forward to caravanning the Northern Territory .

Never knew opal mining was such a big thing in Aus! Could you tell me a bit more about why they lived in the mine as opposed to close by?
Greta Kumm. Living underground in Coober Pedy is far more bearable than topside. Summer temperatures in particular can reach well in excess of 40c plus for days on end, and may well not drop below 40C overnight, while the underground temps are about a constant 23C day and night. It's an awesome place to visit, but not in the summer time. If you google 'real estate for sale in Coober Pedy', you can see a selection of how they live, . . . you may be surprised. Cheers.

What do you do with your dog while you do tours ?
Aaron McKnight if we just going for an hour or so , we leave her in the van . If it’s for the day , then we find a dog sitter for the day
