Scottie’s first trip to HongKong, First time without yaya, toddler travel hacks

- Slater’s maternal grandmother who lives in Hong Kong celebrated her 99th birthday and we made sure to be there for the very special occasion. As much as we wanted to bring both kids, we couldn’t get Sevi’s passport ready so we took Scott alone with us. It felt nice to have that one-on-one bonding time with him again since I’m usually with Sevi when I’m at home. Being a mom of 2 is harder than I expected, especially when it comes to splitting time between work and both kids. I guess it just takes some adjustment and compassion on both sides, but I’m thankful we are able to make it work somehow.
Surprisingly, the trip was a success! Even without yaya for the first time, Scott was a champ and really easy to handle the whole time. He was amazed at the simplest things- like how big the roads were, or how many people could fit in a subway. Watching him experience these things for the first time was the best feeling and I can’t wait for more firsts with him and of course with Sevi in the future.

Hi Kryz! I agree bringing kids to travel because you want to see them happy and it's for the adults . I would also add to that - although they may not remember travel , the places you go to stimulates their brain and help in mental growth. The photos also are precious. Life is short, and happiness as a child when you look back on those happy photos, helps one as an adult to cope up with life, knowing that you were loved and you were special even as a child.

I believe traveling at such a young age is also for the kids.
Everything that we experience during our formative years will be in our subconscious minds.
And it is so important because it is the foundation stage of our adult life.
Now that I am 30, and knowing what I know now with the inner child trauma, contributes how I see and face life.
Skyfam is always my inspiration to change the narratives in my head to make it more positive and hopeful, healing and leaving the trauma in the past.

Scottie is like my nephew. He also started talking A LOT at a young age. He talks a lot of sense and funny at the same time, I can talk to him all day. I love talking to kids, especially when I'm down. Kids are healing. They're angels!

I agree with Kryz. When we went too overseas we brought our 1-year old daughter with us last year and got the same reaction from others. Pero tama talaga yung point na for parents yun at masaya na kumpleto kayo all the time.
She might not have remembered the trip, pero alam ko ng mga araw na iyon-super saya nya. Makikita mo sa mga tawa nya and my wifey too.
