Had a gen one for nine years, currently have a five channel Basx that runs silly cool. When I bought the Basx MC1 I bought the four channel for Atmos. Also runs silly cool. Sound is great. And the sound from the MC1 is audiophile quality, run the left/right with a Parasound a23. Can't go wrong with these, but like you not a fan of the new class H smps

I had some older ones in my old theater, seems like it was UPA 7 and they worked great! The new theater will have a bunch of the BasX amplifiers, the older generation, not the one that came out recently. The new version came out shortly after I bought mine.

What happened to the Carver? You used to have a Crimson 275 for music. Not enough watts?

I saw one of your videos and thought you may have an answer!
I am in the process of having Control4 installed at my home. Mainly for music all over the property and a handful of TV's. I have issues with speakers that are to bright. I favor speakers like Polk because they are more of a warm sound, but still sound good. I also like NAD and use them to run Polk Atrium 8 speakers outside. I am looking for a solution for our great room. We have 16 ft vault ceilings and all hard surfaces. The automation company replaced my floor standing klipsch with 3 origin Acoustic THTR68 and 2 D69 in ceiling and D69's in other areas of the home. A Denon AVR-X6700H powers the 5 speakers inn the great room. I am not happy with the setup in any way. The highs are harsh and there is almost no mids. The Denon was just something to be used temporarily and will be used elsewhere on smaller speakers. I was informed of the Anthem line and have not heard one for myself. What would you recommend that has a warm sound like NAD and realy good room correction for my cave of a house :) 100% want to go with separates.

I would definitely go with an anthem. I can’t speak for their receivers which I’ve heard they are good but their processors are high class. Amazing sound with pinpoint accuracy and control. As far as speakers the Goldenear on wall or in wall speaker lines are fantastic the ribbon tweeters are so sweet and the midrange is so neutral and revealing also Paradigm has phenomenal home theater and stereo speakers. Their sound is equally warm, sweet with great range and pitch. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching and commenting

Thanks for the comparison impressions between the Emotiva (basically used as monoblocks) to the Parasounds. You must listen to your soundtracks quite loud to need that much power. I've tried all generations of Emotiva, and like gen 2 the best. I'm not a fan of the rail switching power supply in the current gen 3. All my Emo amps have a grainier top end that I never enjoyed, moreso in the gen 3. I switched to the Parasound Halo series, and prefer that warmer signature, as it also smoothens out the high frequencies. I get 400 watts per channel out of them, so I don't really need any more power than that. I'm not lacking in overall dynamics either, and prefer that richer, more refined signature.
When it comes to budget amps, I also prefer the Outlaw series over Emotiva. Again, a little more refined, and less grainy, and edgy up top. But some may really like that, as it can sound more detailed.

Good points you have. Yes I do like outlaw amps too. I also like Monolith amps as well. My favorite is gen 2 also. Actually I don’t listen that loud but with the extra power I do hear more details. In a song there are about maybe 6 to 20 different instruments and sounds you can hear, in movies it can be up 100 sounds at the same time. So with more power I can hear them more. I love my Parasound amps they are so smooth and I really love how they sound with my tube preamp. Thanks for watching again commenting.
