Hahaha ok I’m getting ripped apart at my stupid method of spinning the drone around. A lot of great commenters are telling me that you can tilt your wrist from side to side to spin around. Thanks for the heads up everyone!
It's a very common misconception it seems, rotating your wrist in a yawing motion initially feels more natural, but you'll definitely notice a problem pretty quickly
Ironically you were tilting your wrist a bit in a couple situations and I could tell the turn of the drone was much more fluid than the rigid yaw effect present with just rotating your wrist/body.
And rightly so. Have none of you pro drone flyers ever flown an aircraft or flighr sim? All of you look super awkward flying with the motion controller, like stick figures...
So glad I added the motion controller when I ordered my FPV drone! I might be seeing more features being included in the motion controller in the future!
I could never master using both thumbs to fly fpv. With this motion controller, I was flying, banking and moving between trees 10ft off the ground on my second flight. Love it!
Yes you would. And you just never feel experience unless you and machine act as 1. You cannot get full range of directi9nal control with controller. I've seen people fly with 2 big toes, no arms. Facts.
A buddy of mine just flew his with the handheld for the first time and he was flying like he'd been using it for months. The three of us have Mavics, Inspires, an Evo 2 and Typhoons and smaller FPV Drones. This is an amazing device. I'm considering this. Great video Billy
Hey Billy I believe you’re wrong about how to do the spin or at least not the most efficient way, so you just twist the controller horizontally to rotate on its axis. Great video Billy once again! See you in the air.
The motion controller looks really fun and more simple to fly with than normal controller. I imagine the motion controller is a giant antenna if you were to break it down to see the internals perhaps that's what you'll find.
@@mattiler7698 the Skydio 2 is probably the most advanced drone, but DJI has the best range of drones, Mini 2, Air 2, Mavic 2 pro, and now this FPV drone. No one comes close when it comes to marketing strategies.
Well I am a DJI owner i have the mavic air 2 and it is very nice but the tracking and Optical avoidance is by far superior the only thing dji is better at is the range on how far it can fly away from you. Plus skydio is cheaper
I started flying RC with helicopters, beginning with coaxial, transitioning to fixed pitch, then graduating to collective pitch. Been flying for a few years. In the past year, I switched over to drones, specifically into the Mavic lineup, with the mini and now the MA2, which I love. But I miss the experience of being fully in control and having to rely on your skill alone to fly, as you have to with helicopters. I see myself getting into flying FPV and using the motion controller in the future. You’re really starting to sell me on this machine and the controller. It appears you get to experience that in-control piloting feel, that I crave. Thanks for the informative video. They’re really great!
Sure beats the heck out of the Flyability Aviator I purchased a few years back. Another notch in DJI's belt with giving us a more immersive experience. Great content as always Billy!
That’s definitely a game changer for a lot of us I think is that motion control after seeing it in action it looks to be very natural hopefully it feels just as natural
Like flying a helicopter using the cyclic. Great control. Very intuitive. That is my oppression. To me much better than the controller when flying FPV for sure. Love the concept.
hey billy , i just wanted you to know that everytime a new drone comes out i always suggest your videos to alot of my rc friends. i only got the mini of a friend after seeing your impression video. altho where im from drones are almost 3 times the price but i just love taking sick pics and videos and all the grinding feels worth it after viewing what i captured. i hope to save up and get one of these fpv drones.. seen so many sick videos! but with the current financial problems i have and because of the crazy prices here in my country this video you just made makes me eager to wait and save up. love the content, love the editing, the information but the main star of your videos is you. keep making amazing videos! thanks billy!
After watching your video, I like the motion controller so much that might be the only way I fly the FPV drone. Another great tutorial on the new DJI FPV drone. Looking forward to seeing you fly it in person in Florida.
Great video and appreciate the feedback. One question though did you find that the props were constantly in shot or can you pitch the camera to keep them out of shot?
Personally I think this controller is WAY more precise. I can do so much more on this controller than on traditional controllers. It's great for confined spaces and in open range. I can rip this little drone insainly hard using this motion controller. Seriously, I can not believe the maneuvers I am able to do with this controller.
Have to say from someone who has always wanted to fly fpv I bought this when i purchased the combo.. flew a few times and still have yet to use the controller.
so its basically just a small little yoke. honestly maybe connect it to a longer pole kind of like a flight sim and the amount of control you could have would be amazing. also looks like a ton of fun
A couple things: you didn’t mention the circle in the display that is your target for where you want to go. Also, the limitation of the motion controller is that you can’t back up or fly sideways. If they ever make a GEN two motion controller, that does these things I will buy it immediately.
I’ve got to ask, how can someone wear full goggles as a Part 107 pilot while keeping visual line of sight? The rule is pretty specific about keeping the aircraft in view with the naked eye?
1st flight used the motion remote control. Something to use for the 1st time in an open field, hit the return to home button and it lands where it is, not to home. Almost lost in some trees and bushes. Not sure how I got it back to home. Not sure if I like this one 🤔
I think with Manual mode, you have to do that through the google menu, same as the controller from what I've read. Safety precaution so u dont accidently select it.
do you have full telemetry inside the goggles, like altitude? Is there a dot or cross hair inside the goggles.. would you use the motion controller for like doing a home walkthru?
it is good, but i think for turning left and right they should have given circular button rather than turning hands inwards , stopping and again inwards. Can you turn left without stopping.
I was given one of these and this controller, about to update the software so I can use it. Great overview. Got my registration & license completed and I’ve done about 10 regular flights so far and this is my first drone. Absolutely love this thing. When I want to get out and relax it’s easily my new favorite way to forget about everything! Can’t wait for the extra batteries to come in because that’s the only downside is this thing sucks juice!
Hey Fellow drone brothers when is the get together in Fl ? I believe in Melbourne And if so what are the time and dates ? I would love to meet Billy and some of the others ...
Purchased this drone combo as my first drone ever. Have 2 quick flights in with it. Going to try out the motion controller today for the first time. Wish me well! Awesome content, I subscribed!
Hi Billy. Could you please make a video about calibration of the motion controller 🙏 I have tried a number of times and it seems pretty simple, but I keep getting an calibration failed message. Great videos by the way, keep up the good work 👍
Nobody really understands the magnitude of this technology! I lost my arm a while back. Flying any drone was excruciating to do or watch with one arm. You are not really flying you are basically moving a rock with a small stick that is the equivalent to flying with one arm. Here comes DJI MOTION CONTROLLER and now I’m dancing like Michael Jackson instead of a nerd. This thing is a god sent, and when they release a firmware for the AIR 2S so it will work with goggles and motion controller I’ll be buying that drone next. The MAVIC PRO 2 is rumored to be compatible as well. DJI JUST SOLD ME 3 DRONES with this one simple controller
This drone seems to have all the features I want in a drone..... downside is I will never have the money to own one 😪 I can get my hands on a spare mavic mini to deconstruct...... would it be possible to put the dji flight chip into a cinewhoop? So I would have the motions of the cinewhoop with the features of the dji, such as hover and return to home? What do you think, would it be possible???
yeah the brake button is super effective. The thing stops on a dime. The top comment did mention that he misunderstood how to control the drone during this video though, you're intended to rotate the controller in place rather than spinning in a circle to turn the drone. This even works from a standstill.
Billy my brother!! We are the Drone Squad if the motion control losses signal the only thing it’s going to happen is the drone will return to home, over all the motion control of DJI makes a Lots easy to fly this Drone. Love your channel Billy and you know ( WE ARE THE DRONE SQUAD)Peace brother ✌️👍🏻✌️
You're NUTZ....I had to pause the video and reset my mindset to, 'It's Not My Drone' mode. Damn...I knock over wine glasses when I tell myself to be careful. I know the out come if I tell myself to look out for the bridge. Surprised there is no snow in the Philly area...we up north have a bit left.
It looks really fun and don’t worry about the “turn around” thing. You probably weren’t the first, or last, to make that mistake. Thanks to this video, and the comments, I won’t be one of those. I would also add that if you are flying this under Part 107, you are required to have visual line of sight of the drone at all times. If you are flying FPV, that means you must have a visual observer to maintain visual contact with the drone. That rule made things so much more difficult for the TH-camrs that upload a lot of FPV content.
Hi Billy I enjoy all your videos very informative. I saw another video covering a motion controller and the person who is doing the video said that the motion controller somehow connected to the goggles which then connected to the Drone giving you the full 10 kilometers. Is that possible?
I just bought an Avata. My motion controller doesn't let me twist it to turn it and also doesn't seem to track if I spin around. Do you think this is a bad motion controller? Is this something that is exclusive to the FPV drone?
Hahaha ok I’m getting ripped apart at my stupid method of spinning the drone around. A lot of great commenters are telling me that you can tilt your wrist from side to side to spin around. Thanks for the heads up everyone!
Even potato Jet got it right the first round🤣🤣

my dudes, rtfm. even nurk did this too.
Tilt your wrist side to side and it will rotate 360
Thanks for the heads up!
So glad I added the motion controller when I ordered my FPV drone! I might be seeing more features being included in the motion controller in the future!
Cool! It's a lot of fun.

I swear you did not just say “inspires” with a S as in plural
@@LucasSun-rq5nd Yes, plural. I don't own an Inspire but both guys I fly with do.
I'm sold. I thought the controller would be confusing but it looks pretty simple to use.
That's me when I was still feeling my way around the FPV motion controller!
Hey Billy I believe you’re wrong about how to do the spin or at least not the most efficient way, so you just twist the controller horizontally to rotate on its axis. Great video Billy once again! See you in the air.
Wow!! Never seen such an impressive use of turning with the Mc before!
The motion controller looks really fun and more simple to fly with than normal controller. I imagine the motion controller is a giant antenna if you were to break it down to see the internals perhaps that's what you'll find.
No ..."assume" this is pure SCAM !!!..... Just an observation... You're poorly broken English gives it away... Amongst other things... LoL 😂😂😂😂😂
DJI are years ahead of any other drone company. Marketing masters.
No there not they are 2. Skydio 2 is the top dog now

My FPV turned up yesterday and this was a huge help for me to understand what I needed to do and how to use it - thanks Billy :)
Glad it helped!
"Use the brake button the reposition yourself"
I was wondering just about that one.
MAN, that was a good trick! Thanks for sharing 👍
You had me when you went underneath the bridge I was like ohhh crap and holding my breath !!!
Say you're not flying in manual, would you prefer that or the remote?
Two very different styles of flying. I think I would prefer the regular remote.
i cant wait to chk it out for myself. Thanx for the demo
My guess the remote controller is using the goggles for antena.
After watching your video, I like the motion controller so much that might be the only way I fly the FPV drone. Another great tutorial on the new DJI FPV drone. Looking forward to seeing you fly it in person in Florida.
what about lack of M acro mode in this motion controller? will they eventually add it?
This is the kind of toy I dreamed of having when i was a kid!
This is one of the best controller i have ever saw thanks for the review.
Sweet review!! Good detail and demonstration.
Great video and appreciate the feedback. One question though did you find that the props were constantly in shot or can you pitch the camera to keep them out of shot?
Another reviewer said you will see the props in frame until you speed up causing the drone to pitch forward.

wow. must be an amazing experience. it really looks like flying a plane with a stick.
That is the idea, but all the idiot pro reviewers turn around like stick figures.
Clear and concise and no ‘waffle’ 👍
This is the perfect drone for me. I’m finally gonna pull the trigger on these (no pun intended)
Thank you for the information. Just picked up the FPV after waiting a year for the price to drop.
Love the turning method! I would’ve made the same mistake if I hadn’t seen the correct way to do it on another channel.
hey, cool it’s really helpful to understand how it works. Btw, is it possible to connect such a device to any drones?
A couple things: you didn’t mention the circle in the display that is your target for where you want to go. Also, the limitation of the motion controller is that you can’t back up or fly sideways. If they ever make a GEN two motion controller, that does these things I will buy it immediately.

This is awesome. We see what the drone see.
Thank you Billy. Do you think they will enable M mode for this motion controller eventually? It looks strange not to have it there?
I think with Manual mode, you have to do that through the google menu, same as the controller from what I've read. Safety precaution so u dont accidently select it.
Definitely pretty cool feature. Definitely worthwhile buying and having. Its different and that's what has me so into this thing. Good shit bro.
can;t you go inverted with the motion controller ? using the tilt on the side? maybe doing a 180 and then flipping is the best way to turn around?
It is safe to say it is more like traditional drone mode vs FPV with that controller?
Advance congratulations for 100 k.
Thank you!
Very helpful , thanks! Is this compatible with the new DJI Air 2S ? What about the new FPV googles and the DJI Air 2S
I notice the props in several of the shots. Anyway to frame those out?
more motion controller flights please, thanks a ton for this video
Using the motion controller, are you able to do flips with the drone? Or is that only the two-handed standard controller?

This motion contoller is the best
Hey Billy, my man from Phlly. Grew up in Willow Grove myself. WHY can't you fly in manual mode with this thing.?
Sweet! Awesome spot.
Is wearing glasses a problem with the goggles
You'll be fine as long as they're not big and bulky. I wear glasses with them all the time.
No elton john glasses
@@haroldyazzie3538 Exactly, lol👍
Yeah, it depends

How do you keep the propellers out of the picture?
That's pretty cool, I reckon would be easier than the remote for beginners?
I'm not really familiar with these drones, but wouldn't it be better to have the propellers mounted wider so they aren't in the camera's view?
Are we looking at the transmitted image here billy?
I was this remote was compatible with the Mavic two or mavic line of drones 😭
