this going to be the second version of the Bury St Edmunds free radio network gateway I am installing the gateway into a weather proof electrical cabinet ready for it's new permanent location
the Bury St Edmunds free radio network internet gateway is a radio over internet protocol (ROIP) radio gateway it currently operates on pmr channel 14 with ctcss tone code 123.0 also known as tone 18
the gateway is connected to other gateways

hi Andy that call sign a blast from the past I remember chatting with you in the early 2000 on 2 meters on the very same radio that's in the gateway box and antenna but back then I lived at wickhambrook a couple miles from EA / EZ but they were not operational back then
about the range of the gateway it was getting out to 20+ miles on 3 Watts at the radio and with 8x5/8 11.7 db antenna @ 11 meters to the base but I thought that was a bit excessive on 446 the radio is now at just over a Watt and the antenna is a x50 at about 3 metres and some of the crappest Chinese rg58 to tame it down

How do you access this gateway?

hi this gateway is located in the Bury St Edmunds area and is on pmr ch 14 = MHz 446.16875 and to access requires ctcss 123.0 some times know as tone 18
if you are out of range of the gateway you can also use the push to talk app called zello to access the network of gateway's by searching the channel list for 001english-eu.ddns.net every one is welcome and there are people of all ages and backgrounds and nationality's who like to talk radio and general topics

hi I used to live in Euston back in 1993 now I live in Risby just off the A14 and you would a good set of eyes to see my antenna from the road
keep up the antenna spotting I do it all the time
