My 5YO son loves playing this game with me, and the co-op aspect is fantastic for helping coach him through the “sore loser” phase he is currently struggling with in other competitive games. It also has just enough strategy to start teaching some critical thinking. Highly recommend!
After Candyland failed to hold my three-year-old's attention, I'm hoping that she will enjoy this as a gift for her upcoming 4th birthday. Thanks for the recommendation, Tom.
Play this game with my son at a store and had a blast. One quick question though. When the wall gets knocked down do the goblins land on that empty space when it's time to move them forward? Or do they just attack the castle? I figured they did but since there's no symbol theres no way to catch them so you just lose. I could be wrong.
I did not think I would buy this when I first saw it. But after this review, I think this will be the game I buy for my daughter’s birthday in a couple months. She will be four.
Any variant on this game where it’s not strictly co-operative and you can determine a sort of winner. For instance whoever removes the most monsters from the board or instead of taking a card from another player you force an “exchange” cards or have to choose a random card from the other players face down deck? I like that your working together but my daughter always likes to determine a winner, even if it’s who played best out of the cooperative game. I like the premise of the game and think my daughter will enjoy it but she will be looking for the “did I win” angle. Saying we both won probably won’t cut it 😂🙈🙄

Co-OP really seems like a great way to get over the winner / loser aspect of games. Perhaps I'll grab this for my kiddos.

How would you compare this to that Lion King Protect the Pridelands game? Kind of similar.
Similar feel. Protect the pride lands has a bit more decision making involved.
