Samedan, Switzerland

Samedan (population about 3‘800) is a village in upper Engadin in swiss canton of Grisons. It is a hub for the Rhaetian Railway. The elevation of the railway station is 1706 m.
In Samedan you can see many traditional Engadin houses with massive walls (the winters are cold and long) and decorated facades (sgraffito).
You can find some hotels and many appartments for tourists in Samedan.
There is a small airport near Samedan. The length of the asphalt runway is 1800 m.
