Hey boys do you wanna have some say in how Old Kenny gets refitted? tell me what you'd like to see on the truck. How Fat Bastard lost weight, th-cam.com/channels/3w193M5tYPJqF0Hi-7U-2g.html
I'll put in my two cents. I was a heavy truck mechanic for twenty years and used a little NeverSieze on every Budd wheel inner and outer nut, none ever loosened or had to be torched off. It was how I was taught and worked fine.
So I initially saw the title of this video, got all excited, and said Finally! Then I watched you taking the balancers off the truck and thought that was the surgery you were talking about, and found myself feeling sad. Then I saw you pressure washing the truck and engine, got all excited, and said to myself "maybe he is rebuilding it!" So after that roller coaster, I can't wait to see Kenny come back to life. Here's my input. I love external air cleaners, so I would leave that. I also am a big fan of "working" trucks. So I would put Kenny back just like it was. Day cab, same wheel base, same stacks, headache rack, strobe lights, etc. I really like 24.5s so I would probably put those on if it was mine, and some full fenders over the tandems.
What I consider open shoulder are big open lug tires that are open clear to the sidewalks. The closed shoulder are like front steer tire tread. That outer edge needs to have a complete tread band that keeps the tire somewhat round and doesn't let the tire outa round which keeps the tires from bouncing around. Just my 2 cents worth!! I run lug tires on all my farm and my business trucks so I'm not running them down.
Like the others I have used antisieze and molylube on lugs before and have had no problems. I like the choice of yellow for the A model. I probably would not change to much on Kenny other than dual air cleaners and a "normal" chrome visor. I really like the way it is now. Taking the cab off is probably a good idea also. Probably can add better or improved cab mounts when you put it back on. Love the use of the "Buzzin Dozen" Wabco on the roofing job. Again congrats on your weight loss. That has been impressive. As always be safe out there in the wild west.
You are da man, Jeff. You do some great videos. We are truckers tho. We keep fixing our 18 to 25 year old fleet of trucks because we have found that that they run better without horse piss. We don't build engines to win the race up the hill, but the one to the bank. We have found the blue ones to be the most cost effective to own and operate. Just got a go pro to record some of our escapades for your critique. Hopefully our level of humor and wit can approach yours
After owning 4 of those KW's over the years I have several things that are dear to me which I'll keep to myself. Having said that I have one request that would make me happy and that would be that you please do not add one of those ridiculous East LA. Chino dingle ball sucking drop sun visors. Every time I see one of them I want to pewk !! You definitely don't seem like one of those guys that have to sit on the floor mat with nothing but your ball cap and eyeballs visible and a transmission shift lever that rubs up against the headliner. 😈☻
Caterpillar yeller!! All the way buddy!! For Kenny! Just like we have discussed all ready! And the green goblin will sho nuff be smoother now with them rings! Hehe
I am almost 70 years old have been around minings and construction all my life started out work on trucks working for u haul have used a ton of antisize over the years if comes loose it was not put together right or there is a different problem . No to much on yellow my self but if that is the color the some Perl while gost flame would be cool
Was "the 1693 engine the forerunner to the 3406 or was it the other way around? Reason I ask that is; got into a discussion one day about cubic inch displacement with a friend of mine and did some searching and found out both engines are the same displacement??
Boys I've done the same thing to my old bird on the wheel balances but haven't done the back yet!!!! I'm a new subscriber keep up the good vids bud love your stuff
A sleeper is always handy to have for those situations where things go to hell-in-a-handbasket, but it just adds more weight. Unless you're going to start travelling with Old Kenny.... But I am not one for flash, I am more into practicality, so things like a gauge on the dash that shows the pressure on the drives. I don't mind scrub-washing a truck, but I ain't into polishing stainless or chrome. As for the out-of-round tire, I've been there even with big-name tires, too. You're 169 and you used to be 212? Wow. I'm envious. Last time I was that light was when I graduated high school. Haven't been below 230 since about 20yrs old. Of course, at 6'3", it all carries well. p.s. Nice job not dumping that spun-off socket on your toe !
Love your videos! I am a Kenworth A model fan. I rebuild a 79 and loved it. You asked my opinion so hear we go. I like yellow and I am a fan of John Deere Yellow. A excavating company (Independence Excavating Cleveland, Ohio ) in my area paints there carry All's and they are very sharp. I would keep the wheel base the same as A model have a very poor turning radius already. I would change the front spring hangers/ horns and make that A model a long hood. Again love your videos.
Keep her a classic! Keep the dozier motor with a maybe an 18 speed. Some chrome Donaldsons on the side with plenty of polished aluminum. I love the old Seminole paint scheme on the A models.
Jeff, this video as well as many of you other videos made laugh out loud. Thanks for the laughs they are golden. I really laughed at the eclipse shot! As so far a Old Kenny is concerned your choise of color the absolute best. When I was a kid the dump truck service down the street had a yellow IH pick up with black fender and always wanted to have a yellow pick up too. There a long story there. All the Best to you Jeff, Joe
ARP specifies their lubricant to make sure the proper torque is applied to their product. Given the high performance environment their studs and bolts are subjected to, they want it done right. Something like wheel lugs are less critical, lots less. Different types of lubricant will give you a different torque result and on an ARP cylinder head stud the amount of stretch will not be correct which they have determined is needed to keep it tight. - Yes, I have worked in a race engine shop.
I am thinking you are talking about wheel studs. So , sure, whatever works for you. Interesting reading answers from different people about what they use and if it works, then it's all good.
We got smoke (and ash) from that big fire just south of the line. It's crossed into Canada now. Where is your President and his wall now? Cathedral mountains area of BC. The whole Okanagan Valley is getting it. Kootenays are smokey too. Our whole province is burning. I would be very interested to know how those balancers work.
Love to see the Cigar chewing "Rubber Duck" ornament from Convoy, I know it was on the Mack but it sure looks cool. As a 47yo dairy farmer from Kalangadoo in South Australia I can honestly say you make me chuckle. ( I even learn stuff!!) Cheers Mate
Flat top double eagle bunk, or a small 36in sleeper. Short front bumper with fog lights and maybe bumper guides and a some chicken lights. Yellow with gray or purple accents like the old green A Model from tv show Moving On. With 6 or 7in pipes curved back old school. And tall 24.5 rubber
A nuts story about loose bolts. A bolts weakness is its shear strength but its tensile strength is its saviour, to put its strength to good use we pre load it using tension to create sufeciant friction at the joint so that the shear stress wont exceed the shear strength. Unfortunetly friction at the thread can also reduce the amount of tension that pre loads the bolt so some nuts recomend lubricant, this is ok if the gingerbeer that designed the joint factored that in but if we reduce the friction at the thread to much and create to much preload we can start to crush the parts between us, this causes the joint to relax over time and we loose preload, at this point the nuts leave the party. Dry nuts can also cause problems if the gingerbeer didnt allow for the lose of preload to friction and the joint starts to move putting increased shear stress on the bolt, very shortly thereafter the bolts split the scene and the nice round wheel bolt holes in your rims start to look oval. Cheers mate.🍻
Jpaydirt a non alcoholic drink made from the ginger root. Australian slang for engineer. Sometimes you get more satisfaction from the drink. Cheers mate.🍻
God, I hope I'm not putting the jinx on any of our old trucks, but we have been putting anti-seize on lug nuts for years and never had one come loose. I think you get them torqued better that way.
Steve Lindley yup, never had one come loose. I think there are a whole bunch of folks out there with inadequate air supplies for the big impacts or the impacts are worn to hell. When I ran the shop, no never seize on lug nuts or u-joint caps equalled no job.
The arp lube is molybnimn disulufide or moly lube, it's not necessarily to lube the threads but to help with bolt stretch, I don't think antiseize on the lug studs is a bad idea at all, as they torqued to what like 700ft lbs with that big ol rattle gun, they aren't gonna come loose. I love antiseize! I'd put a 16 litre 3406e backed with 13 speed in ol Kenny and let that kitty purr again!
My buddies dad had a hard time keeping steer tires on his t2000 did every thing possible wheel alignment and all. One day at a tire shop up here i canada a old trucker came up and asked him if he tried using 6 golf balls in his tires. To keep them balanced
yellow W/ a metallic purple accent stripe or two tone. 8" stacks. a med size sleeper since you are considering it ? may as well go with bag air suspension fwd & rear. also find me a set of train horns..... ha ha. I like your videos Jeff keep up the great job !!!!! It's the soda that packs on the weight man, I used to drink regular Coke it put a unbelievable amount of weight on me. stopped drinking it & the weight fell off. best of luck to you !!!!
Curious if you ever tried using the mats I told you about under the front of the Murray? Curious what your thoughts were. I used them for many years, for numerous things. Carried a dozen of them on my trailer at all times.
I would like to see a video of how they helped, or didn't help, getting under that trailer. I feared backing under a loaded Murray until I met a guy in Vegas and he showed me the mats he made. Genius! Made life so much simpler
What I would like to see is the build itself. It would be especially useful if you would number the videos as you go to make it easier to follow. I had a great partner in an offshore fishing boat. We picked it up July 4th in the 70's and put it down November 1 with 375 hours on the twin GM gas engines. Second season was worse and we cracked a head. We took the fresh water coolers off (easy) and then John pulled the distributer shaft, one motion after bolts were out. Put it on a blanket, sprayed with WD-40 and went to work on the heads. Amazing what you can do with a can of talc and a ball peen hammer. 20 minutes, all heads checked, crack found. One new head, rest machines, engine put back together. John picked up that distributor shaft and with one motion put it back in place at the correct setting. Wired it up, put it in the water and his engine purred like a kitty. Mine, well John just looked at me and said "You know Grits you are undeniably, genetically, mechanically sterile." Right on! So I like to watch your videos. Great to see people do what I could never do. Keep it up and thank you.FYI, in shape at 5'8 1/2" I weigh 195-200 with a 34" waist. Not muscle, just bones.
Good! When I repainted my trucks I used 4 times more clear coat on the easy to chip paint zones. Front , near wheels and etc. I also after painting the frame I used a rubber coating protection on the frame.
Have been a mechanic most of my started out working for U Haul in the early 70 worked on trucks construction equipment underground equipment and have used a ton of antisize if it comes loose it wasn't put together right and if you run mud and slop or magclorid you will have to cut things off sometimes. And if yellow is the color for old Kenny then I would think some Pearl white goast flames old school
Chrome air cleaners. And duel 8 in pipes would look sharp that truck is already in great shape. I like lights so more the better. A drip visor would look good to
I vote for a 12v71t in Old Kenny - nothing sounds better, but suspect air quality issues may not let you do that on a rebuild. Then again maybe Idaho is less restrictive than some other states in that area.
David Anderson if I'm not mistaken it's illegal to apply used engine oil on the ground, best forget about dropping one of those hamster wheels between the frame rails. I drove trucks in the very early 70's with those and believe me they are highly over rated and fuel hogs to say the least.
LOL - I hear they tend to leak a bit and the fuel mileage is not as good as modern engines, but they have a lot of low end torque. They were the engine of choice in the big off road logging trucks in British Columbia, but I couldn't tell you why.
David Anderson ya I drove a couple of the old rigid frames with the 12v71's and Allison slush boxes, I think everyone gets wet because of the sound but believe me when you put in a 10 or 12 hr shift in a unit with straight stacks or loud exhaust it gets old real fast.
I "hear you" some of the videos show the drivers wearing shooting style ear protection to cut down on the noise. Could be the radios fed through those also.
I like to picture jesus cruising in old kenny the seat aired down with a 12 inch drop visor, limo tint windows, 20 inch bumper, dual 10 inch flat tops, and a ton of chicken lights.
Hey whats wrong with the 1693ta? How much money is in the budget? What is the piston arrangement number on that engine? Can you get parts out there for it? lol how about some details
I know you can fix it. If you was closer i would give you a head for it. But i think its probably ruined by now cause i haven't checked on it in awhile.
See the outside of your tires with that open groove between the lugs closed shoulder tires are solid on the outer and inner sides makes a wonderful ride. It corrects the message I sent you earlier
The CAT yellow looks good as does the chrome top on the air cleaner. My son in law often takes his 8 y/o son with him. Says next truck will have bunks. My grandson kicks him in the kidneys too often at night. Took a high load (he has a 53' step trailer pulled by a Mack) to a military base. the MP's would not let my grandson on the base! They kept him while the truck was unloaded and just spoiled the heck out of him. What a way to live!
Not big on yellow, but lotta trucks in construction are. Going yellow I think I would go satin black on the top deck of the hood, top of the cowl. Seen some "rat rods"- (bleah) that used construction equipment satin black, didn't chalk like a flat black, had nice suttle sheen. Be easier on the eyes driving in the bright sun, that's for sure. Let ol kenny be what he is, keep it day cab, make him look good n work great. Change your mechanicals to suit you and what you do. Love seeing semi-retired work trucks rebuilt and kept going. Takes commitment to do it. Big companies and balance sheets exterminate most trucks. It's hard to let 'em die when they've been good to you. Looking forward to it. Thanks for sharing.
Jpaydirt ...might even go with other black accent paint somewhere, but I'd go regular high gloss for everything but top of hood. All that other stuff... stacks this way or that way, air cleaners, paint n chrome bla bla..... keep it classic and true to its era and youll never go wrong. Trucks like old Kenny have a presence that the customs don't.
The reason manufacturers don't want a lube or an anti-seize used on lugs is not because the lugs come loose (as often assumed). It is because they know most of us use a 1" or 3/4" impact to tighten the studs and with lube on them, the possibility of over torqueing and stretching the studs is very real. Mostt Budds suggest a torque in the 400-500 ft.lb. (ish) range, and I know my big impact can hit 1000+ ft/lbs. easily. In the engine assembly, you used a torque wrench to hit a specific torque.
Jeff put a 3408 or big 3406 , 18 speed and big 8" pipes with nice shiny dual air cleaners and makes any truck look good ! Keep up the good videos . Your sound is very hard to hear lately .
I think what you can powder coat will look must better than paint. Powder coat wheels with lug nut covers and hub caps. Powder coat the fuel tanks if that is possible and chrome the support straps.
Build a big rig mobile workshop truck. Being in the Uk our trucks are more sedate and getting them through annual M.O.T test when pimped out is a ball ache.
Near enough its Ministry of Transport test. It's nazi road transport standards in Britain. But only if your truck is British. Trucks from the continent do as they please.
i always use anti sieze on my studs but not on the shoulder that the nut contacts the rim. I use the product called counteract to balance the tires it works good just beads that go inside
You might be a Dirt guy if your dump truck is bigger than your house!!! 😂. Had a of round tire, tire guy flipped it on the same rim and it seemed to help. Kinda fond of the stainless fenders for the KW, but they are pricey. Dual stainless air cleaners would improve any KW.
Keep it simple Jeff.Leave Kenny original as a day cab extend the wheelbase some but not to much that it looks stupid.Rebuild the 1693 or put a 3408 in with an 18 spd. trans.Make the stacks normal height you know not to high not to low with a nice curve at the top not bull hauler style and no bigger than 6" to big looks stupid.Kenny was no bull hauler .Leave the bumper width same as it is in the pictures.Nice stainless rear fenders not the fiberglass kind that cover part of the sides of the tires.Like your choice of yellow with maybe a few accents.Kenny was and is an old school truck keep him that way.
Jeff I would remount that tire it might not be centered on rim there is a ring on most tires, it could be off when the bead was set.I've had it happen before . God luck.also keep Kenny old school.
Oh also bad thing about those balancers is in the winter they get condensation in them and freeze then it's like a dirt road until they thaw or blow a tire!!!
6in straight miter pipes, darwin drop visor, old factory stripes in a dark maroon, chrome wheels but painted hubs most of all 48in mercury sleeper polished out or double eagle sleeper. That would be a bada** A model KW
That ole KW should have one of them new fangled automatic greaseing units so it can be all fancy. like all those other chrome plated pieces of plastic trucks only cool and functional :~)
Been neversiseing lug studs for 45 years, not 1 problem, Lowboy’s,step deck, rgn, end rums, dumps, rice trucks, liquid tanks and Phymatic tanks, Reg spread, Canadian spread, 12/2 spreads, bull wagons, never ever lost one, or come loss, follow me if you like , Capt
Water seems to be the key to a good diet. If I don't drink my 1.5 liters min a day my weight goes up. Your looking good keep up the diet. I bet you feel better too!
Not a diet, Its a lifestyle change, when I get down to my fighting weight I will eat two meals a day but keep my snoot out of the sugar for the rest of my long life
You might want to look at a product called "counter act" for balance problems. You basically put glass beads in the tire itself. Go to there web site a lot of info there. Counteract.com. Would love to see traditional Kenworth stripes on old Kenny, maybe in black with yellow base. Please no sleeper.
I understand about your big timber and being a brute to move did it for a few years. With machinery trailers and lowboys and I did the same thing more or less. I got stop at a scale for a inspection and a education. Was told it dose not matter if you have your timbers in a well it still must have some kind of restraint over it. Considered a unsecured load, big ticket Put a chain or a cable on it for to tie it to the trailer. As for Kenny do not turn it into a trailer queen. A truck was built to work so make the truck look good working.
8 inch dual stacks 13'6'' high chopped at a 45. chromed air cleaners, chrome visor/brow. 24.5 rims on nice rubber. a nice healthy dose of fuel so you know it isn't starving.
Mr. Anderson, the end products of the fields? I drive a pneumatic bulk tanker. No Idea what I haul. Honestly n rather haul shit straight from the pond.
Vortex stainless air cleaner stretch it about 4ft not too long! They make a back wall for the day can to make it a intergal sleeper looks like a extended cab!!!
Hey boys do you wanna have some say in how Old Kenny gets refitted? tell me what you'd like to see on the truck.
How Fat Bastard lost weight, th-cam.com/channels/3w193M5tYPJqF0Hi-7U-2g.html
Better keep all them 343 parts for the scrapers bud, 3408?
I'D LIKE TO SEE OLE NEW KENNY WITH A SLEEPER JEFF. AND BIG TALL STRIGHT PIPES AND WATCH THE COAL POUR OUT OF THEM!!!
Keep it a daycab!
Jpaydirt bull bars straight 8 inch stacks and a 36 sleeper
It would be pretty cool to do it up like one of those ausi road train trucks . I.e . Snorkels cow catcher and big stecks maybe all black
I'll put in my two cents. I was a heavy truck mechanic for twenty years and used a little NeverSieze on every Budd wheel inner and outer nut, none ever loosened or had to be torched off. It was how I was taught and worked fine.

It's a work horse--leave it's dignity intact. Got pure masculinity under the hood--that is all that matters.
Gotta stay a day cab and big mechanical CAT power! can't wait to see Old Kenny Back in Action, Straight pipes please!
What I consider open shoulder are big open lug tires that are open clear to the sidewalks. The closed shoulder are like front steer tire tread. Another great video! Cant wait to see what old Kenny looks like.
Thank you for the video Jeff,Take Care.

Ok I'll check it out
I like your title "Freight Relocator"
Use "Caterpillar Hi-Way Yellow" paint. It's the old--school color of the old Cats from long ago.
After owning 4 of those KW's over the years I have several things that are dear to me which I'll keep to myself. actually low riding is illegal, it's unsafe in my book might as well have beer goggles on, don't like it either
Caterpillar yeller!! All the way buddy!! For Kenny! Just like we have discussed all ready! And the green goblin will sho nuff be smoother now with them rings! Hehe
going to show you how much smoother
I'm sure it'll be a fantastic build, I've liked the look of the high air intakes on the Aussie haulers to keep the dirt out a little longer.
I am almost 70 years old have been around minings and construction all my life started out work on trucks working for u haul have used a ton of antisize over the years if comes loose it was not put together right or there is a different problem . one dab gone wild and you look like the tin man for the whole day.
A WABCO for a tear off? You Pocatello boys are clever. I worked for LeGrand Johnson in Logan.
Was "the 1693 engine the forerunner to the 3406 or was it the other way around? Reason I ask that is; got into a discussion one day about cubic inch displacement with a friend of mine and did some searching and found out both engines are the same displacement??
It was Cat's first big truck engine back in the mid 60's I believe
Truck rebuild for the tool box ( wheel nut torque multiplier ) what a great invention
For removing stuck wheel nuts
old skool cool would be the way to go, chrome breathers, lots of chicken lights, and 5 in straight pipes that tickle 13' 6".
I liked seeing the Wabco used for the roofing job. Heavy duty tools for any job is best.
Had some people stop and ask it they could take a picture☻
Boys I've done the same thing to my old bird on the wheel balances but haven't done the back yet!!!! I'm a new subscriber keep up the good vids bud love your stuff
Keep the day cab. Compound turbos would be cool with 8" miter cut stacks no muffler. It will be a California certified dirty idle if ya ask me!

Mr. A. Boungiorno!! I went through this balance problem on my drives and found 1 of every 4 tires not round true. These
Always Korean made tyres. I returned to Michelin and the balance problem went away.

Stay with the classic stuff of the erra.except safety equipment .
As far as you can see before a complete tear down, is the chassis in good condition with few if any fatigue cracks?
Booobs Mike boobs ☻☻

JC Whitney sold balancers for cars in the 1950s. They clipped on the inside of the wheel like a balance weight and worked pretty good.

Ouch. Lol.
Just drove through Sicamous a couple days ago. Houseboat capital of Canada. Didn't see your buddy though.
8" dual straight stacks. Oh such a wonderful sound. Where you located? I work for Western Peterbilt in Marysville wa. Love to come help if your close.
Well i'm a little ways away, Blackfoot Idaho
Love to see the Cigar chewing "Rubber Duck" ornament from Convoy, I know it was on the Mack but it sure looks cool. As a 47yo dairy farmer from Kalangadoo in South Australia I can honestly say you make me chuckle. ( I even learn stuff!!) Cheers Mate
Kalennnnnnnnnnnnnda foooooooo do hey how do you say that?
KAL-ANG- -GAA-DOO
7" or 8" Lincoln Chrome exhaust stacks.
Nice :) I cant wait to see her roar
Flat top double eagle bunk, or a small 36in sleeper. Short front bumper with fog lights and maybe bumper guides and a some chicken lights. Yellow with gray or purple accents like the old green A Model from tv show Moving On. With 6 or 7in pipes curved back old school. And tall 24.5 rubber
Definitely put a sleeper on it, please. And don't put big huge stacks on it, keep it like a classic old truck with a few custom touches.
Good to hear I've got a 78 w900a with 1693 in it i picked it up 7 or 8 years ago never fired it probably should one day
What ya going to do with it?

Interesting....................Mike whats a gingerbeer?
Glad to see Kenny getting some TLC. Makes me think about working on my 1693...
Yes you do need to get going☻
THAT WAS THE BEST ECLIPSE EVER😂🇺🇸😁😆
Paint the fenders black on that yellow scheme. It looks good. We have some Macks around town painted that way.
My buddies dad had a hard time keeping steer tires on his t2000 did every thing possible wheel alignment and all. One day at a tire shop up here i canada a old trucker came up and asked him if he tried using 6 golf balls in his tires. To keep them balanced
He said no. Long story short he tired it and work like a charm
FOUR!!! golfing term get it?
I've head guys talk about that, never did it. They said it worked.
yellow W/ a metallic purple accent stripe or two tone. 8" stacks. a med size sleeper since you are considering it ? may as well go with bag air suspension fwd & rear. also find me a set of train horns..... ha ha. I like your videos Jeff keep up the great job !!!!! It's the soda that packs on the weight man, I used to drink regular Coke it put a unbelievable amount of weight on me. stopped drinking it & the weight fell off. best of luck to you !!!!
I used to drink coke also, but now I just snort it, works better and is an excellent weight loss product☻
Curious if you ever tried using the mats I told you about under the front of the Murray? Curious what your thoughts were. I used them for many years, for numerous things. Carried a dozen of them on my trailer at all times.
No, and I need to get that done, I can't tell you how many times it would have made things easier
Not muscle, just bones.
how about I put them in a playlist
Is Kenny going to be a work truck or show?
work truck
Good! When I repainted my trucks I used 4 times more clear coat on the easy to chip paint zones. Front , near wheels and etc. I also after painting the frame I used a rubber coating protection on the frame.
That cat yellow and gloss black powdercoat the air cleaner and battery boxes and tanks, maybe even the wheels too, and black chrome stacks!
Out with new and in with the old . Are you keeping the 1693 or upgrading
I would like to keep it
Looked like both tires were wobbling in sync.. Could your axle be bent?
Well the inside one is out of round, made in Veitnam Love you long time☻
Chrome air cleaners.
Well ok,,,,, I'll see if he can come down☻
Hey whats wrong with the 1693ta? How much money is in the budget? What is the piston arrangement number on that engine? Can you get parts out there for it? lol how about some details
I think it dropped a valve, plenty of details coming go watch Old Kenny th-cam.com/video/bjEyvVV48SI/w-d-xo.html
Why don't you like the big Donaldson Air-cleaners? Are there later ones that are more efficient?
I think the polished stainless Vortox would be cooler
Got you! Not so bulky
Thanks for the input, that's a good point about the glare from the hood
That's why I never use my one inchers on studs, bertha is rated at 1400 and the CP is 1100 so I use the 3/4 Cp
Powder coat the fuel tanks if that is possible and chrome the support straps.
dual 8 inch side pipes, take the stacks and lay them under the fuel tanks
I quit using open shoulder tires on the rear of my trucks seems to help the ride.
explain more please
Build a big rig mobile workshop truck. Being in the Uk our trucks are more sedate and getting them through annual M.O.T test when pimped out is a ball ache.
Mother Of Test MOT ?
Near enough its Ministry of Transport test. It's nazi road transport standards in Britain. But only if your truck is British. Trucks from the continent do as they please.
Nice one Ken, Thanks.
Thanks and stop calling me shirley, Ken
???????
I'm Jeff not Ken☻
i always use anti sieze on my studs but not on the shoulder that the nut contacts the rim.
10-4
P.S. after torching off a lug nut at 10:30 p.m. i always use anti- sneeze! have not lost a wheel yet
Dual breathers painted to match the cab with stainless tops!!!!!
Yes, thats what I'm thinking
I should have looked closer to the post date, comments for old Kenny are over two years old.
Yes, 1693 stays and day cab is preferred
Jeff I would remount that tire it might not be centered on rim there is a ring on most tires, it could be off when the bead was set.I've had it happen before . God luck.also keep Kenny old school.
Ok
Oh also bad thing about those balancers is in the winter they get condensation in them and freeze then it's like a dirt road until they thaw or blow a tire!!!
how is that possible? there's an oil in them and they are sealed
The yellow should look great, check out some of the Aussie KWs for some ideas
krikey mate the dam steering wheel is on the wrong side☻
Thanks for the info on the Dr. From West Tn.
6in straight miter pipes, darwin drop visor, old factory stripes in a dark maroon, chrome wheels but painted hubs most of all 48in mercury sleeper polished out or double eagle sleeper. That would be a bada** A model KW
If not yellow a dark deep red would be really cool !!
A yellow and white Seminole paint scheme would look slick on this ol girl, but i'm a sucker for 2 tone A models.
It would be cool to pit those purple lights that hamg behind the windsheild to reduse glair old school!!
That ole KW should have one of them new fangled automatic greaseing units so it can be all fancy. like all those other chrome plated pieces of plastic trucks only cool and functional :~)
If it were mine,6NZ Cat,200918trans,255wb,24.5 tires,and a gullwing bumper.
I would like it if you got started on the bulid soon.lol thanks again Ray Bust a blade
The old Wabco was built in Paris Ontario Canada 🇨🇦 and then Dresser bought them.Made in Canada 🇨🇦
Good old trucks Made In Canada
Water seems to be the key to a good diet. If I don't drink my 1.5 liters min a day my weight goes up. Your looking good keep up the diet. I bet you feel better too!
Not a diet, Its a lifestyle change, when I get down to my fighting weight I will eat two meals a day but keep my snoot out of the sugar for the rest of my long life
I have a buddy that's owns a Coca Cola plant and he has about 40 big trucks and always sprays the lugs down with wd40 . He has never lost a tire
You might want to look at a product called "counter act" for balance problems. You basically put glass beads in the tire itself. Go to there web site a lot of info there. Counteract.com. Would love to see traditional Kenworth stripes on old Kenny, maybe in black with yellow base. Please no sleeper.
Dual Chrome stacks
Keep a 1693 in him. Don't see many around anymore
Put some big loud pipes and sleeper with a window in the back of the sleeper put chrome air cleaners
Ya the lacroix is excellent tasting water i drink it alot to
Best eclipse ever. Hahahaha. 👍
Mr. Anderson, the end products of the fields? I drive a pneumatic bulk tanker. No Idea what I haul. Honestly n rather haul shit straight from the pond.
Vortex stainless air cleaner stretch it about 4ft not too long! They make a back wall for the day can to make it a intergal sleeper looks like a extended cab!!!
for an A model?
