No more mask feathering/ gaussian blur/adjusting vertex points to create this type of grain! The number of case studies and applications is insane...I just bookmarked this because I know I'm going to watch it 10 more times because of the wealth of knowledge packed into this single video. And as always, so well taught too!
The regular noise effect slows down the preview performance drastically. Of course, I'm not comparing your amazing presets with the nightmarish native noise effect but how is the preview performance in a busy scene with a bunch of layers? The grain and shadow combination looks amazing, by the way 🔥👏🏼✨🤩
Thank you for this video. I got a feedback: I think you should add a section of 8-10 seconds at the end during which we can see the final result playing. You spend lots of time working on this effect (and that's great), but it's almost impossible to contemplate the final result. The "result" is visible during exactly 6 short sec at the beginning (where 5 different projects appear very fast in burst), and 4 sec at the end (where we don't really see the grain result in close-up). I really think you should consider adding a "special section" to the video where we show a nice view of the "final result" (in fact, that's the first thing I would look before to watch the rest of the video). Maybe showing a split screen with 3-5 results (fullscreen + several close-up). Anyway. Thank you a lot for your work! Very helpful.

Thats awesome! Too bad TH-cam doesn't like too much grain if you look at the bottom of the sphere at 5:28. I love grain and noises but the compression on TH-cam is too strong. Do you have any solution for that?

I would put the ones that dont need editing in parentheses or give them like three ---. So one can easily see which ones not to touch and which one is the pseudo effect.

bro when I am stacking bot the press you gave it is not working it is just giving me the output which can be seen by just putting the chunky grain prest
Yes it does! Just like the inner shadow it will affect the brightness values of whatever you apply it to. You may need to adjust the contrast of the layer prior to the grain, but it will work on any layer.
WHENEVER I place the *Inner Shadow* preset > And then the *Chunky Grain* - it just creates grain all over the layer. It doesn't shape itself according to the inner shadow, and I don't know why... Anyone knows...?

Great technique and some cool ideas! Don't know if it's a choice you've made, but whilst watching this, I was hit with 10 separate TH-cam ad breaks, which really is a lot for a video less than 20 minutes long, and makes it much harder to watch!

I just updated all the presets for compatibility with CC2021 and above. Re-download those and let me know if you're still having trouble.
