She sees beauty, and I am astonished at the amount of trash. If they stopped 'trashing' now, it would take YEARS to clean it up. An ugly scar on nature's beauty.
@Julia This is exactly what I was coming to the comments to say. But it's not unusual for them, sadly. If anything, it's actually more "pristine" than what they're used to seeing on a daily basis.
Unlike most Western countries, India has never had national campaigns to address littering or sound waste disposal practices and even if they did, a lot of the folks who live in small, poor villages like the participants here, wouldn't have been exposed to it because the majority don't have televisions and many of the older generations can't read or write, so newspapers, magazines and internet articles would be useless to them.
Luckily, the younger generations, like Ruby, Raeen and Sarru have had at least an elementary level education because schools have become a bit of a higher priority in the last couple of decades. Not so much for girls yet, but you can see that Ruby was either very lucky or determined to get educated because I've noticed in other videos when she's done reactions to products that the show has purchased for them to unbox and try for the first time and she's with Babu and Badshah, she will read what's on the box or packaging for them and tell them what it says (as long as it's not written in English).
The government in their country has little to no interest in public health and safety, so the people "create" their own landfills or dumps on the outskirts of the cities and there's no government body to manage them, so they get so massive that they start spilling into the cities themselves after a while.
The saddest part of all, is that there are many very wealthy people at the government or corporate level and then there's the poorest of the poor, with no middle class at all. And even though it was supposed to have been abolished back in the mid-twentieth century, the caste system is still very much alive and well in their country. If you're ancestors were poor, unskilled laborers, it's pretty much a given that every generation that follows will remain that way. It's just what's been passed down through the generations that if you come from a certain caste, there is no opportunity for you to ever rise above it. It's become so ingrained in these good folks that they'd never dream of being able to create better lives or build any wealth for themselves.
Sorry to have gone on and on about it. It's just something that I started taking an interest in after I began watching several of the tribal reaction channels and I've done a bit of research on it. I just find it to be heartbreaking that a country this large with such a wealthy upper echelon, can still be considered as a "developing country" when they should be so much farther ahead by now. ☹️
Didn't even see any trash cans at any of the rest stops, I guess they just don't care.

The first trip to the Himalayas was wonderful and I am very happy that Ruby and Sarru have joined the trip. Although Raeen says he's a little scared of the road, I see him happier. I hope you all enjoy and have fun.

@@j.h.3777 I know, I felt the same. But let's not judge, not so long ago, we were exactly the same, and did worse to the planet! And despite our current efforts, we continue on many points... Nevertheless, the Himalayas seem sublime 🙂
The music and filming were excellent, and I enjoyed seeing the pit stops, the scenery and little details as well. And it was an ideal day for it too in my opinion, not the overused sunny day, but a beautiful dark wet mountain day that gave me somewhat of a better feel of actually being there. Really well done. This is becoming more than just a tribal channel, videos like this are works of art, wholesome, beautiful, positive and a great experience for all involved (including the viewers) too. Quality stuff.

Agreed. I hate to see all that garbage on the mountain. They have so many people who could work to pick up the garbage all over their country.

I am amazed at the driver using his phone while driving! On such roads! And not one of the passengers was wearing a seatbelt? Are they not mandatory in India? As for the garbage everywhere it seems to be a problem almost everywhere! I live in Northern Canada and the end of winter is here. When the snow melts you should see the amount of trash and dog feces everywhere! It's simply disgusting. I visited the Gobi desert; there were empty bottles of vodka almost everywhere. Locals were shocked when they saw us, tourists, picking up their garbage at the eagle festival. Some even thanked us. Hopefully, they learned something!
I am happy to see Ruby on adventure. That last bit of driving was hard on her, hoping they will have great experiences in the coming episodes.

I'm glad to see these guys out exploring. I've missed Ruby particularly, and Raheen, too. It was interesting to see them using acupresssure strips! We did a trial of acupressure for test anxiety. Not enough people or strict enough protocols for typical research, but the students who used them were very happy. Acupuncture used to be a regular part of my health care regimen, but sadly, my insurance doesn't cover it any more.

For God's sake - or at least your own people's - India, get a grip on your rubbish problem. It's EVERYWHERE. You allegedly have overcrowded jails. Then why not put your convicts to cleaning up litter And start having some campaigns against littering, and proper designated dumps. And how about recyclables and banning non-recyclables. Make a bloomin' effort. No excuses.

Even on the highest mountains garbage everywhere. These people need educated.
On my very first trip to Bharat back in 1988 we organized the first cleanup at Kovalam beach....we ended up on the sunday Express....in north Goa now there are regular cleanups...in the Himalayas I collected used batteries to be brought back to Delhi for safe disposal for years.... I went to schools to teach children not to litter....in Manali on the way to Old Manali same....collection of beer bottles and other litter....but most dishartening was to see litter in brooks and rivers....many times arguments ensued....on Thailand beaches rubbish came ashore from the cruise ships and again collection was necessary.....when we complain we must also act with generosity and respect towards our planet wherever we are especially when nobody is looking as Nature is our witness 🙏💖🌴🌳ps my favourite places: Himachal Pradesh...Omkareshwar.....Gokarna....Hampi and Kerala....I have never visited Pakistan but it is on my bucket list 😉

When I saw the title with the word "Himalayan roads", I clicked on the video so soon. Because the first video on the Himalayas completely stuck in my brain. It was fantastically beautiful and natural with its grandiose panoramas.
Everyone are on their own adventures. The Himalayas do look amazing, even if these are the foot hills but them roads are bit on the sketchy side. I've watched a few travel programs on the telly where there's travelling on mountain roads through the Himalayas and Andes. If it isn't rock slides to be on the look out for, it's oncoming HGV's and buses.
In German we say: The route is the destination.

Yellowstone Park is on average 8000 feet (2400 meters) above sea level. They are at almost 7000 feet so if you’re not use to winding around and up and down in the Rocky Mountains, this could probably be a bit tough.

The episode reminds me of the time the American television series "Ice Road Truckers" went to the Himalayas to test the driving skills of the Alaskan truck drivers. It seemed extra scary when the heavily loaded trucks were on the crumbling roads, I got scared all over again watching this!

My anxiety is too high when I see that bus on the edge of that road with nothing but the mountainside to fall down for many meters! Ugh and that man on the roof!! I can't watch.

Another great video! I love seeing these villagers’ new experiences! I do have a tip for nausea: (1) close your eyes and try to relax, (2) if you don’t want to or can’t close your eyes, focus your visual attention on something moving along with you, like your hand, or the back of the seat in front of you. These things can be helpful.
The views are so beautiful! You can see for so far! Better than any postcard. God is great! So, happy they got to see in person! I don’t think I could ride and most definitely not drive on these roads. Especially at night! Thumbs up!
Those straps are gimmicks. Dimenhydrinate or diclectin are the only things that work, as well as fasting and water drinking only

I was just wondering when Ruby would return.
My family traveled on a similar road in Guadalajara, Mexico when we visited as a kid. We were in a 13-passenger van and you could not see the oncoming traffic at the turns. We had to back up once and had two tires almost over the edge to let a truck pass. It was scary, but beautiful as well.

For a bit of context for those that've never visited, it's not necessarily the roads that are dangerous. It's the idiotic way some of them drive on the narrow roads. Although we can't get a great feeling for the speed due to the superwide lens on the 360° camera, I assume from their reactions that the driver's going overly fast. It probably wouldn't be one of the world's most dangerous roads if they actually drove in a civilized manner.

I have struggled with motion sickness my whole life especially in cars. Those wrist bands are bogus. There's no scientific proof that they work. You're better off taking meds for long trips and also get a driver who doesn't slam the brakes. Look straight ahead and listen to music with earbuds. The dizziness comes from the stones in your ears called otoliths becoming misaligned with motion. Some of us are prone to it. Best is to speak to a doctor and they will prescribe you some medicine before the trip.
Why doesn't Ruby wear a seatbelt? Or aren't there any in the vehicle?
Looks beautiful. The camera is a little hard to deal with though as it’s constantly turning around. It really messes with people who get motion sickness. I miss your normal cameras. It’s a shame with all the trash. We get that here in the uk as well. It’s frustrating. People need to pick up after themselves

Beauty is all around if you ignore the trash people leave behind. Yes that guy was driving too fast on narrow roads. He thinks he's safe because he does this trim 5 times a day.

The driver at the end of the video is a lunatic. He didn't care at all about his passengers nor about Raeen on the roof. Without proper seating up there, the bouncing and being tossed around was very dangerous and he could have fallen. When a driver gets too used to a dangerous road they can lose all their caution and inhibitions, thinking they could never crash or come across a situation they can't control. I bet he's running on a timeline imposed by his employer, too. It's a recipe for disaster and Ruby is right to be terrified.

How awful is it to have these folks stop to admire the scenery and all you see is the garbage that has been thrown around! I could not settle on the beauty of the mountain and stream with all the trash......trash was the thing that caught my eye and I could not unsee it. Very sad.
