DIALOG IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING, to understand this complex story, paying attention to the dialog is needed. Just some advice. This show is not HOTD. It's way deeper and a lot to take in.
I would probably watch this episode again while writing down names of the characters and places and continuing to do so throughout the reactions. Otherwise the fandoms gonna eat you alive if you don’t pay attention. I wouldn’t get discouraged though you are both good reactors.
Okay in "House of the Dragon", King Viserys tells Rhaenyra about a prophecy dreamed by Aegon the Conqueror called "The Song of Ice and Fire". The main story (the books Game of Thrones are based on) are collectively called "A Song of Ice and Fire." That prophecy is about... this.
Right? In their very first scene, for instance, Jaime DID greet Cercei (the Queen) saying, "as your brother." It was established right from the outset.
"Who was that guy"?..uh..they only said his name, and said he was the queens brother like five times during the episode..one of which "As your brother, I feel its my duty to warn you" you were talking about going on vacation
GOT is much more intense and complex than the prequel HOTD. There is a lot of intrigue and intricate storylines that involve the political maneuvering and betrayal as the various players compete for the Iron Throne. All of the characters have multiple aspects to their personalities and often defy the simplistic idea of good or bad.
A title card for the first episode House of the Dragon the says that it begins 172 years before the birth of Daenerys Targaryen, whom you see with her brother Viserys in this first episode of Game of Thrones.
You guys do know that this takes place 200 years AFTER house of the Dragon right? Not a critique but a suggestion. This show has TONS of clues to things that will happen later. Sometimes this episode. Sometimes 5 seasons from now. Almost anything that is said may be important to listen to. You guys are maybe talking over the dialogue a little too much with little antidotes' about your personal experiences and your missing important information. I hesitate to say anything because that is your style and I do find it enjoyable. But your missing so many basic things almost every other reactor catches because they are paying attention more. I myself have no problem with you stopping the video to make your comments. Or even going back and rewatching something you may have missed. For instance, they told you 2 or 3 times that the man and the woman in the tower having sex were siblings. Yet you missed it every time. And I question if you know the woman is the Queen thats married to the portly king. If the Queen is having sex with her bro behind the Kings back. Thats kind of an important thing to miss. It's frustrating when you miss things like this because we don't get to see the shock on your faces when you catch on. Other than that I enjoyed your reaction.
Not a critique? Your entire comment could be the very definition of the word 'critique.’ If you are going to (correctly) critique them, don’t pretend you are not doing so.
Current events in House of The Dragon season 2 are unfolding around year 130 AC, 170 years before the events in Game of Thrones which are around year 300 AC. HOTD is a prequel to GOT. In GOT the Targaryens were already dethroned after roughly 280 years of rule. Great reactions btw. I'm in for it
I recommend more frequent reactions to this as every single one of your questions is usually answered within the episode of watching or the episode following. Don't forget that this is a series where every single line of dialogue is important as this was based on a book that prides itself on complex dialogue and details of foreshadowing.

No they won't, since they didn't even recognize the elements they should have from HOTD - they were clearly watching it simply for the rich women lazing about whining about men - which was all that show consisted of.
House of the dragon is a prequel to Game of thrones. Nearly 200 years before the events of Game of thrones and 172 years before the birth of Daenerys Targaryen.
I would strongly recommend you pause when necessary, so you dint miss important information in the dialog. And rewind when you are too busy doing your secret handshake to pay attention.
Ser Jaime Lannister and Queen Cersei Baratheon (nee Lannister) are fraternal twins; when they're reminiscing on their childhood Cersei says "when we were 7." They are also, as you saw at the end, lovers.
p.s. I was looking forward to seeing your reaction to the three eggs being revealed or the brother talking about getting back on the throne, y'now, SOMEthing you'd recognize, but oh well.
The funny thing is that some of your questions were answered in the episode you just watched, you just didn't hear them or pick up on them. lol The first few seasons require your attention. It was difficult for everyone to pick up on all the different faces and names and relation to one another the first time through, and it takes a minute to figure it out, but you will. I've seen this series a dozen times and I still pick up on new things. It's as dense a show as it gets. And I would set down all of your modern sensibilities about right and wrong, fair and unfair, and what is just and unjust. This is a story set in a time where none of that mattered. And it wont. You are Summer Children and Winter Is Coming. ;)
I do this for every GoT Ep 1. The quote is badass, but the full quote is even better. Here is a rough paraphrase: "The man that passes the sentence should swing the sword. If you would take a man's life you owe it to him to look him in the eyes and hear his last words, and if you cannot bear to do that, then perhaps the man does not deserve to die."
Oh Lord I am so invested in watching this with you guys, I'm stoked!!!!!!! You are gonna be seriously disturbed by this show!!! LOL!!! This is gonna be fun!!! Cheers ladies!!! 👍😁😎🤗
The old dead guy with the stones on his eyes was Lord Jon Arryn. He was the Hand of the King (King Robert Baratheon). King Robert and Lord Eddard Stark (Ned) were both fostered at The Eyrie (The seat of The Vale, one of the Seven Kingdoms). That is why he was "like a father" to Ned (and King Robert). Ned’s wife Lady Stark's (Kat, Katelyn Tully) sister was married to Jon Arryn, and they have a young son. Kat’s sister sen her a message saying her husband (Jon Arryn) was murdered by the Lannisters, and that she had fled from the capital (King’s Landing) and gone to the Eyrie.

People aren't unnecessarily mean. They just are upset over how much the "HoTD fans" reactors managed to miss in such important episode. I've seen a number of reactors do it this way, come back to the parent show after watching the child, and it can work very well. Just be aware that GOT has many more characters, many more storylines, many more twists and turns, that HotD does. And the one thing GOT does have (mostly lacking in its prequel) is plenty of humour, especially in the first few seasons when they were following the books. Oh, and horror. Comedy and horror. And politics. Comedy and horror and politics. And - you get the picture. Hope you continue, once I see Part 2 come up I will subscribe!

HoTD is pretty popular in TikTok apparently so guys brace yourselves because you're going to come across many such reactors who are "fans" and they will eventually watch Game of Thrones. But I think some of these reactors will eventually actually end up becoming a true fan
21:26 ... In the books, Daenerys Targaryen is introduced as being around 13 years old at the beginning of the series. But in the TV show she is around 17 years old. Back in the day, girls were "old enough" once they had their period. That's just way it was for thousands of years.
The Starks are in the North. The Lannisters are the family who bring lions into battle and Jason Lannister tried to propose to Rhaenrys in season 1 and Tyland Lannister is the master of coin in season 2 (the one who has to deal with Aegon's kid in the meeting). You know the Targaryans. This series takes place about 180 years after HOTD. Lots of stuff goes right and wrong between these series. The last Targaryan king was Arys (the mad king) who was overthrown by Robb Baratheon and Ned Stark (with the Lannisters helping). HIs first son Rhaegar ran off with Ned's sister which started the war. HIs next two kids are Viserys and Danerys whom you've seen. Danerys just married Aquaman.
Just a hint - If you feel the need to talk more than 2 seconds, you should PAUSE the show. Missing more than 2 words can make a difference between understanding and not understanding. For real.
4:50 Both series are based on the same books and lore in the same world.... Events in HOTD happen about 170 years BEFORE those in GOT. If you don't know the lore and are going in fresh, then I envy you. You're in for quite a treat....at least for the first 5 seasons...

I knew they where immediately going to fall in love with robb and jon 😂
but god forbid we admire Danis see through dress
A month now and no ep2?
So called HotD fans yet ignorant to even basic knowledge of both the shows. Or maybe you guys are just simply dimwitted
@@znaim88 EVERYTHING that confused them funny enough was either left out of the reaction or they talked completely through the scenes where their questions are answered. The audience really needs to stress that these girls need to pay attention to the dialogue.
The first time I watch game of Thrones I missed alot of stuff too and understand things little by little each episode
@@quiredskywalker4422yeah but they've already SEEN HOTD…
@@winstonpeanutbutter maybe they didn't understand house of the dragon either they should understand basic stuff if they already watch hotd
HoTD is pretty popular in TikTok apparently so guys brace yourselves because you're going to come across many such reactors who are "fans" and they will eventually watch Game of Thrones. But I think some of these reactors will eventually actually end up becoming a true fan
This is about 200 years AFTER the start of HOTD
The seasons, winter, spring, summer, fall.....can last years in this world....and if winter lasts years, bad things come with it
You guys need more pay attention :) 30 second look away you miss a lot .
Welcome to the best tv series in the history
we love you guys but more attention please.
21:26 ... In the books, Daenerys Targaryen is introduced as being around 13 years old at the beginning of the series. But in the TV show she is around 17 years old.
Back in the day, girls were "old enough" once they had their period. That's just way it was for thousands of years.
Welcome to the world of Game of Thrones
House of the Dragon is a prequel set 200 years before Game of Thrones.
Some parts of Skyrim were roughly inspired by GoT and the books they were based on. They came on the same year as the show after all.
Aw 😂. Blondes are related brother and sister.
You must pay attention to names of characters/& their houses. I DO ENVY YOU getting to see for 1st time
you should watch the official videos of "Histories and lore", the actual actors read the story so you understand.
Still no second episode for 1 month now?... I don't really understand. Game of thrones is significantly better than HOTD and definitely worth watching
A new GOT reactor. But reactors with the knowledge of HOTD. Welcome ladies. The journey is long and filled with drama, killing, some sex, some humor and lots of back-stabbing. I love this program and I'll join you on your journey. I tried watching season 1 of HOTD but I got bored.
Oh this is gonna be so much fun for you guys
Got is 1000 times better thn Hod !! Y'all in for a ride !!
At 4.16 did I hear "I'm not writhing" ?
