I think no one individually broke their heart. I believed they are in pain / exhausted to see varieties of human suffering on Mother Earth from one to another.... Those wounds unable to heal ever. Gregorian / Priest / Monk can see far beyond....Lyric in a chanting doesn't mean literally....Pure people as priest / monk are hurt inside. Perfect melody.
