    I want to start off by saying excellent video. Very informative. I definitely appreciate the time you put into your presentation by providing the masses with specifics & detailed information regarding this firearm.
    I am glad to announce that I purchased this beautiful Shotgun on Tuesday 5/21/24 and you were spot on about the price but because of me being LEO I paid $1,858 for it. I bought it in black. I am very happy with this purchase. I love the platform and the easy functionality of it and will more than likely add the same mods and upgrades that you recommend. You definitely have me as a new subscriber.

      Thank you, and thank you very much for your service 🤝🏼 I appreciate you noticing. Trying to get better but I am also new to this. I hope you enjoy it! I’ve put out a lot of videos so far on it. Only have a flashlight video and benelli comparison next. Red dot isn’t necessary, sling is nice depending on how you use it, really only need a shotgun card and a flash light. Flash light is kind of a pain on this thing but I’m putting that video out today. Thank you for subscribing. Of course. You as well. Times are getting rough always good to be prepared. Happy Memorial Day brother. God bless. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

      A sling is a must for me. Just more comfortable. The flashlight was a concern of mine, definitely going to check out your video for that. I’m so use to shooting with iron sights, but for this I will put a red dot. I was thinking the Holosun 510 C would be good for this shotgun. Let me know your thoughts

    • @GearAndGuns
      @GearAndGuns  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@jefferystaten4707 I agree on the sling. I like Trex arms sling. Think I’m going to have to post that flashlight video tomorrow. Beretta kind of puts the consumer in a tough spot with this hand guard mounting lights. I know some people who use holosun. I personally don’t trust holosun and won’t buy them. I put the aimpoint acro p2 on this but you can chose that, aimpoint t2, or the Trijicon rcr or rmr hd. Those new Trijicons are kind of hard to get. I made a red dot mounting video for this where I talk about the different choices. Shotguns are hard on optics and can break them. I don’t really think holosun is reliable but I’ve seen people run them on 12g shotguns. Ultimately up to you, just making suggestions. Iron sights are plenty sufficient for a shotgun.

    I have debated picking one up for all the improvements over gen 1. And I love the feel with the Chisel Machining Stock with RMR mount, seen one at the range last week I think it was from Langdon Tactical but it was gen 1 I believe.

    • @GearAndGuns
      @GearAndGuns  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Chisel stock looks really cool with the folding stock and adjustability but it’s expensive, like 500$+ I believe. I like the red dot farther forward where the picatinny is so it’s easier to pick up the red dot. I think that red dot mount on the chisel stock is too close. That’s sweet you got to test it out though. I wondered about the chisel stock too.

    • @GearAndGuns
      @GearAndGuns  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      That’s true. I’ll always choose quality over quantity though, especially when lives are on the line. I’ll have a way better chance of being able to defend myself, my family, and other lives while using this instead of a cheap Remington pump. I actually sold my Remington 870 and mossberg 590 to get the benelli m4 and beretta 1301. They are superior, that’s why they cost more. Can’t put a price of someone’s life,but that’s when you have to weigh cost vs value/performance.

    regarding the gen 12 -
    just won the FBI contract for breaching weapon, and they wanted a ton of them!! hmmm!
    I have not owned a 1301, but own a M4 and a Gen12, Gen12 is superior for alot of reasons, mainly the 15 round drum alone + AR ergos, reliable mag fed, low recoil, accurate even to 5' 7' and 10.5' barrels, yes they are most expensive, but when you deck out a m4, its not far off.
    sorry you had a bad experience with the m4, your in the minority, 1301's are fantastic and are superior in ways to the M4, but I will take the robust build of the M4 of durability and quality over the heavy polymer used in the 1301, you can get a titanium tube for the m4 and it lightens it up by a pound up front almost. cant go wrong with any of these guns, and their the top 3 shotguns imho.
    alot of m4 users that went entry (14' model) said they never pick up their 18.5' guns anymore.
    not many people will plan on having a shotgun as their main weapon in a shtf situation (for close range on your property although capable to 100, 50 yards and in, even more so at 25 and in I dont think anything beats a semi auto 12ga, and in particular the Gen12 for CQB) , here is the problem with the Gen12 compared to tube feds, where are you gonna carry these big mags? so a recce chest rig like onward research where you can hold x4 (10 rounders) or +2 base pads for 12 rounders, and a 15 round drum, so 55-60+ rounds on you. Once those mags are gone, what are you gonna do, reload the mags on the fly? Once the mags go bad, what do you do, single load a semi auto mag fed shottie? tube fed prevails again.
    For a one and done stand, ultimate choose 1, sure the gen12, but if your talking prolonged time and traveling and other weapons being involved, a sbs tube fed is probably ideal.
    the tube fed is much sleeker due to no magazine, especially with no pistol grip, you can load on the go and specific loads, you can carry 7-9 +match saver depending on tube size and another 7-10 on the gun, and extra rounds on a bandolier or whatever you have for carrying spare rounds.
    Is the gen 12 superior in areas ? yes, is it better in all, no!
    I personally am thinking of going M4 entry 14' barrel collapsible stock as the option, 5+1+1 ghost load, +1 match saver, so practically 8 , extra 7 on a shell holder, 15 rounds of 00 or slug.. if you need more than that, your in hell.

      @@brighthought11 all valid points. I agree with you on most of everything you said. I wouldn’t use a shotgun for shtf unless that’s all I had. Kinda starting to move away from shotguns. There longer, heavier, not as versatile and a bit more limited in ways. There good for hunting, breaching, and deadly. M4 is definitely more heavy than the beretta. But yeah I wish I would’ve went with a shorter model. The 14” benelli or the gen 12 10”. That would’ve been a better fit for what I’m looking for. The lead time is just ridiculous for the gen 12s. They all kind of have their specific place depending what your looking for. I’m actually switching away from the 18.5 benelli and going to a 300 blk sig rattler. I think it does better overall for cqb or home defense. I don’t specifically need a breaching shotgun or a hunting shotgun so these don’t really help with that. Thank you for your input and information. Much appreciated. I hope that m4 entry works out for you. Thanks.

    Very informative review and really nice-looking shotgun. I think the OD Green is nicer than the FDE. Since you're familiar with the Benelli M4, would you say the pistol grip angle is similar to that of the 1301 Mod.2 or is the 1301 Mod.2 a little more angled (i.e. less perpendicular to the receiver)? Also, concerning purchasing the paper owner's manual from Beretta...I think the owner's manual that's available is not specifically for the 1301 Mod.2, but rather for the 1301 Comp. Unless I'm wrong...which wouldn't be the first time!

    • @GearAndGuns
      @GearAndGuns  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you. I hope this helped. I like the OD green more too. From what I’ve seen so far, they probably won’t be produced as much. The beretta 1301 grip is slightly angled more towards the rear then the m4. It’s so similar I didn’t notice it without comparing. The m4 grip is also a bit wider. I have the gen 2 benelli m4. Not sure about the original. Your correct. The manual is not model specific which is pretty annoying. Another guy commented saying the same thing. I’m not sure which model it covers. I haven’t gone through it much. I just bought it because I wanted a physical manual. Honestly, you will probably be fine without purchasing it. I haven’t opened it since after I bought it. The m4 manual is the same way. Not model specific.

      @@GearAndGuns I have more of a background pistol shooting and much prefer the 1911-style grip angle compared to those which are more "aggressive", i.e. Glock. I won't ever own a Glock because of it, among other reasons. I'll take SIG or HK, thank you. However, with a shotgun I'm not sure how much that would even matter and with that aside I think the 1301 Mod.2 is just above the M4, but I've never shot either. Yeah, I like physical manuals too!

    • @GearAndGuns
      @GearAndGuns  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@markn4526 I understand that. I shoot pistol the most too. I’ve owned sig and Glock pistols and have chosen to stay with glock. Grip angle is kind of annoying though. With training it becomes easier to use. I haven’t had any issues with the grip angle but maybe that’s because I’m used to Glock. Shotgun grip angles are usually pretty slanted, on standard stocks it’s almost a 45 degree angle. I think the pistol grip is more comfortable than those. But they both have some pros and cons. M4 and 1301 are very close. Main differences I like about the 1301 mod 2 is it’s lighter, trigger is better and loading is easier. I’ll be making a in depth comparison video on the two.

      @@GearAndGuns I have a Beretta A300 Ultima Pro which I think is just a small step below the 1301. I was debating whether or not to move up to the 1301 Mod.2 but being new to shotguns I decided to start off with the A300UP. If I had decided to go with the 1301, I'm not sure if I would have gone with the pistol grip or not and less sure now. As you've said, there are pros and cons to both. The standard stock on both models is more tactical in design than a hunting/field style stock...it's not as angled. I'm pretty happy with the A300UP and I thought I'd miss not having a pistol grip, but I really don't. I look forward to your 1301 Mod.2 vs. M4 comparison.

    • @GearAndGuns
      @GearAndGuns  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@markn4526 a300 ultima is a solid shotgun. I never looked into the differences of the two. I think 1301 cycles faster, can have pistol grip, and sights might be different. I’m not sure if the a300 can accept the beretta kickoff. 1301 more tactical. Standard style stock really angles your wrist in my opinion. But unless you have money to blow, the a300 is sufficient. No need to upgrade unless you want to.

      I usually try to pick colors based off what’s more dominant in my environment. For me, it’s green. Depending on your purpose it doesn’t really matter as much sense it’s a shotgun, but because of my environment, fde doesn’t make as much sense for me. But because there’s not a lot of attachments made in green, I can mix it some fde stuff to kind of camo it. I personally like green more, but a lot of people like fde because of military use or being in the west of US.
