I would love to see a Joe Russo rig rundown on his kit setup. I can figure most of it out, just would love to hear the specifics of it from Joe.

I saw about 40 Grateful Dead shows before Jerry died and amassed 1600+ hours of shows on cassette long before the dawn of the streaming era. The first time I saw JRAD live was in 2014 at the Ogden Theatre in Denver......about 1,500 seat venue. After they finished the Terrapin Suite, my long-time GD touring buddy looked at me and said, "Sweet Fancy Moses. The Grateful Dead ought to be ashamed for never squeezing so much juice out of that song". I'm a sucker for 72-77 Dead, but I'd be hard pressed to throw in an 80-90s era GD show over anything Russo & Team have played to date (with the exception of Warlock shows at Hampton and the 1990 run with Hornsby sitting in and the Brandford guest spots). And I would drive 6 hours to see a JRAD show before I'd drop the scratch to catch 'Dead & Compay' in my own backyard. What these guys are doing is truly special.....and much more aligned with the original spark than most anyone else in the jam circuit. They are so much more than a "cover band".
Billy said in his book this was his favorite song to play. I'd like to think he'd enjoy this if he saw it.
Which is to say, it's not a competition.
