I have been to dozens of Dead shows (starting with the Brent period), and I have never heard energy and musicality from the original Dead that matches these guys. In the end, I love the music and the best interpretation of it. I am so glad that I can hear the songs I love continue to grow and be new again.

Last night, my girlfriend and I went to a vinyl listening bar to hear some music. They play an eclectic genre, from Air to Kraftwerk and D'Angelo. Our table was next to this older couple that said hello as we sat down. I love talking, and thankfully, they started the conversation. The more we got taking, the more we found in common. And, eventually, the guy disclosed he was a deadhead. I am, too. He asked my favorite show, to which I said, Cornell '77. His was June 10th at RFK. Interesting, I thought. Back in the cassette trading days, it was probably more common to get these monster shows given to you, as opposed to what felled through cracks. He asked if I had ever heard of JRAD. I said, nope. Well, thanks for the recommendation, it's pure music to my ears.

Excellent Not Fade Away... I live in Thailand now but I would love to catch a show next time I'm in the US. I got a Boston ticket (2nd row) for my brother for Christmas a few years back. One of my good NYC area Dead buddies has had the good fortune to catch a few Brooklyn Bowl shows. He "highly" recommends the band - lol.
