im in the process of changing my water pump, so i need to take the timing cover off, but my coolant filler neck will NOT come out as easy as yours lol. anything special you did to make it work?
Overall an excellent video, though at times your dialogue was drowned out by the music. If a person can do this repair by himself and has the time and alternate transportation he would save himself close to $4,000 dollars (USA). The big question is why would Nissan use such a flimsy paper gasket??? My daughter's 2014 Infiniti Q50 might be looking at this same repair. Car is in shop right now waiting to be checked out for a P0021 code.
Thx for the compliment. What i drowned out i did feel it was too important. But i know some people like to hear all commentary. Sorry about that. I this repair should fall under recall because it happens so much.
Hey kids, put the engine at TDC or you run the risk of making the valves hit the pistons and/or it will jump time. The piece that was missing was in the oil pick up.
Low miles even at 100k? These new cars are junk. My 1999 Q45 had 189k miles and all i ever changed were brakes, rotors/pads , power steering pump, valve cover gaskets coil packs, spark plugs fuel pump 3 times, water pump, o2 sensors, belt tensioners, belts and brake master cylinder thats it. And i bought it with 55k miles. Now cars are built to break
@@joejoe188 Yea, nissan was more honorable before they sold to Renault company. Now I gotta buy two whole ass valve covers just to replace 3 dollar tube seals smh.
Best of the best video for Infiniti engine - glade I found your video sir.
Great work and great video.
We salute you Sir.

What do I do if my timing chain slipped but I marked the cam gears can I just spin them back to place?
Hay looking g at the video again.. I'd like to know why u didn't replace the chain
At the time, it looked good to me. I got lazy and didn't feel like getting one. But I wish I did.

I had a hard time. I just didn't show it. It was tricky to work it out. If I remember I think it had an o ring on the end that made it hard.
Nissan: behold the new VQ engine.
Renault: lets put our gasket in there, its made of paper and free.
Where did you buy the tool to lock the flywheel ? Excellents video by the way 😊
It's been a while. But I think I got it at Z1 motorsports.
Do you have to take off the radiator? To remove the crank pulley
Yes. It makes the whole job easier. And a/c condenser

@@SangNguyen-oh5sp I think it was Z1 motorsports, or Amazon. It's been a while
@@AngelGarage I searched on google but having a hard time finding one. Thanks for a quick reply. Bravo
Couldn't you just leave it in gear and break the crank bolt free?
Cant do that with an automatic

What mileage when this happened? Any codes pop?
I cant remember the code but I had 110,000 miles
@@AngelGarage was it p0011 or p0021?

And thank you Nissan for make our lives miserable with this cheap gaskets.
(Sarcasm).
True that. I did it twice to my car. The second time I changed the whole rear timing cover it comes with the gasket and new oil galley gasket plates..
